Chapter 5: Separating Them

"STOP IT! Stop!" Charlotte rushed to separate the two men. Though she was weak and no match for either of their strength, Jack obeyed her command as he beat his younger brother to a stupor, not minding that he was in Teddy's house and that Teddy was the ruling Alpha of the North Field Pack.

"Charlotte..." Jack reached to touch her hand, but she moved away from him and rushed to meet Teddy.

"Are you alright?" Charlotte asked Teddy as she crouched in front of him.

Teddy moved his hands away from Charlotte's touch.

Anne quickly rushed to help Teddy stand to his feet. At the speed Jack had used to attack Teddy, both Anne and Charlotte were shocked.

It was as if Jack had disappeared from where he was standing, and the next minute, he was standing in front of Teddy, attacking him and dealing with him without giving Teddy the chance to retaliate.

Charlotte saw how Teddy pushed her hands away from helping him stand, but he accepted Anne's help.

However, as Teddy stood, staggering as the alcohol he had drunk made him weak, he glared at his elder brother and barked, "Get out of my house, Jack! You're not welcome here anymore. You arrive at my home, and the best you could do is kiss my wife and attack me!"

Teddy moved his hand away from Anne too and told them, "Get out! I don't want to see any of you here, except Charlotte. Leave!"

Jack cleaned his bloody lips, as he had not expected the event to turn out like that. He had arrived home not too long ago, as the flight journey from the human city to their werewolf territory took several hours before he arrived.

Jack had arrived home, wanting to see his only brother, who was now ruling the pack in his absence. He had not intended to fight with Teddy. He came to greet his brother and his wife. Now, he had kissed his brother's wife and fought with Teddy too. His wolf had pushed him to attack his brother because he saw how hurt Charlotte looked.

Before Jack could speak, Anne said, "Babe, are you sending me away too?"

Jack felt stunned to hear Anne call Teddy "babe."

Teddy did not reply to Anne. Instead, he went back into the room he had walked out from.

Anne looked back at Charlotte angrily, as she did not want to leave the mansion at that late hour.

There were rogue attacks at midnight, and Anne was a Beta, not strong enough to face the rogues.

She glared at Charlotte and spat, "You see what you have caused, you shameless woman."

Anne quickly looked away from Jack, who glared at her for insulting Charlotte, who was still standing there speechless.

Charlotte did not reply to Anne.

Anne then went downstairs to ask one of the maids to show her to the guest room, as she could not leave the house at that time. Besides, she was Teddy's real mate, and he would not just send her away.

After Anne left the top floor, Charlotte was left alone with Jack, and she did not want to look at her brother-in-law's face.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for any of that to happen," Jack apologised as he tried to move closer to Charlotte and touch her hand.

Charlotte knew Jack was her real mate, but he had not been around for ten years. He had grown more handsome, charming, and masculine. He was also stronger than Teddy, who was the most feared Alpha in their pack.

"It's okay, you don't have to apologise, because it's not your fault. If I hadn't switched off the light, then we wouldn't have kissed each other, so I'm to be blamed too," Charlotte responded, looking downward, not wanting to meet Jack's gaze on her.

Jack licked his lips. He was not satisfied with their first kiss, as Charlotte's lips tasted so soft and sweet in his mouth.

Jack wanted more kisses, but he could not take Charlotte with him, as she was still married to his younger brother. Beside, Jack had so much to say to Charlotte, but he had just returned home, and he could not say all of that to her now.

"It's alright. It's getting late, and I have to allow you two to sort yourselves out. It has been long since I left this pack, and I don't know what has been going on or what has changed in my absence. But now that I'm back home, I hope I will be able to assist in the best possible way that I can. And if you're in need of my help, feel free to reach out to me, okay?" Jack said, as he moved closer to touch Charlotte's hand again, but she moved away from him.

"Okay, I will keep that in mind. It's already late now. Why not go downstairs and stay in the guest room until tomorrow morning? Then you can return home," Charlotte said, as she avoided looking up at Jack's face.

"Okay, that sounds nice, but you heard my brother dismissed me. He said I'm not welcome here, and it's only right that I obey his command first, being the Alpha of our pack. I have to head home now. It's fine, I can protect myself, but I will be here tomorrow to apologise to him again. Take care of yourself." Jack turned to leave, and Charlotte finally looked up at him.

Charlotte wanted to chase after Jack, to go with him and leave Teddy for good. But Teddy was still the Alpha of the North Field Pack, and disobeying him would warrant her being punished in front of their pack members, and she did not want that.

Likewise, Charlotte had cheated on Teddy, by kissing his brother and not a total stranger. She was sure Teddy would kill her, but she could not just leave the mansion and return home to her father's house.

It was late night, and seeing that the time was 12:45 a.m., Charlotte sighed and walked back to the master bedroom that Teddy had entered.

She took a deep breath as she stood in front of the door. She knocked and unlocked the door, as she entered the room to meet her husband.

Teddy stood there by the room window, boiling with rage as he remembered how Jack had attacked him.

Jack was fast, his movements precise, and he was very good with combat before he left the North Field Pack.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kiss your elder brother," Charlotte apologized, as she stood motionless beside the door.

Teddy gazed out the window and saw that Jack had left his mansion, as he watched him walk away.

"Hmm..." Teddy's anger boiled. Not only did he detest Jack, he did not like Charlotte too. But seeing the way Jack and Charlotte had kissed so intensely, Teddy knew that Jack did not lie to him when he said he did not know it was Charlotte, and he perceived her as his real mate.

"Did you perceive him as your mate? Is Jack Hudson, my elder brother, your real mate?" Teddy demanded, asking the troubling questions that had been raging in his heart as he turned to look back at Charlotte's face.

Charlotte looked hurt. The recent flogging she had received from Teddy downstairs was partially visible on her body.

Charlotte wore a pink night dress that was revealing. Her breasts, which were big and fuller than Anne's, were visible, and her curvy hips were on display in the semi-nude pink nightdress she wore.

Teddy's green eyes moved to assess Charlotte from her chest down to her sexy, curvy waist and back to her face.

For the first time in their four years of marriage, he was aroused by looking at this beautiful young woman.
