~ SIENNA ~

Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God.

OH. MY. GOD!

Why was this man so cunning? And why did I keep falling for his tricks every single time?

“I’m guessing you’re the gym trainer who’s ‘great with beginners’?” I asked.

“You’re so smart, babygirl.”

I lowered my head, pressing my thumb and index finger to my temples as if I could physically hold my skull together. It felt like it was splitting.

“You could have just mentioned it,” I mumbled defeatedly.

“Would you have followed me home for a wo

  • Divorced and Falling for the Tattoo Master   Hate vs Lust

~ SIENNA ~Gavin’s home gym was better equipped than some commercial ones and he wasn’t joking when he said we were here to train. To be honest, I’d expected a few stolen moments during the workout… accidental touches that didn’t feel accidental at all. Maybe his hands lingering at my waist as he corrected my posture. Or the heat of him standing a little too close behind me under the guise of ‘support’. But aside from him tracing my tattoo before the session to confirm it was healed enough for strenuous exercise, the only contact we’d shared in the last hour were high-fives as I moved from one machine to the next, while he alternated between “Bad form” and “Great. Keep going!”Annoyingly, he was actually a good trainer. I was sweating buckets, but my joints didn’t feel like they were on fire the way I’d feared. Or maybe that would come later. We had just finished walking lunges which he said would strengthen my lower body and now it was time for my final torture device of the day.

  • Divorced and Falling for the Tattoo Master   The Rage room

~ SIENNA ~The air hit me first — thick with the smell of leather and something metallic. There were no windows, creating an illusion of nighttime even though it was early afternoon. I found the light switch on the left wall, two scones flooding the space with a deep red light when I flipped it on. I could feel Gavin’s eyes boring into my back as I walked further in. My brain begged me to turn back but my heart forced my feet forward, even though it was beating faster than a turbine at full throttle. I looked from the chains dangling from hooks in the ceiling to the shelves along one wall sampling whips — some thin and braided, others broad like belts, each promising a different kind of pain. Cuffs lined another section, also in variety. There were ropes hung from hooks, coiled in neat bundles, and a massive four-poster steel framed bed at the end wall divided the room into two seemingly equal parts. I glanced back to see Gavin still standing in the doorway and just as I imagined

  • Divorced and Falling for the Tattoo Master   I saw a bench press

~ SIENNA ~Once inside the house, I stilled. It felt like I had discovered a recovering minimalist’s museum. Gavin’s living room was smaller than I would have expected from the size of the house. It looked like it was designed to host no more than two people at a time — and to make them spend as little time as possible. There was no TV or even a sound system in sight. What the space lacked in perimeter though, it made up for in vertical grandeur. The ceilings were impossibly high, drawing my eyes upwards to suspended lights that looked more like sculpture than illumination. An ash-grey sectional, the only thing you could dignifiedly sit on, owned the center of the room, its edges sharp, not a single throw pillow on it out of place. The black silk curtains were a sheer contrast to the plain white walls which held a few framed black-and-white photographs, the most striking being one which looked like an empty road disappearing into fog. In fact, everything in this living room was dan

It felt like it was splitting. “You could have just mentioned it,” I mumbled defeatedly. “Would you have followed me home for a workout session if I had asked you to?”“No.”“Exactly.”My fingers tightened around my temples as I forced myself to take long, deep breaths, trying to calm down. It didn’t work. There was nothing calming about the fact that Gavin was always manipulating me into his desires. It was the exact opposite of my new resolution to live for myself and do only the things I wanted to do. But of course, he was too selfish to care about how his actions affected anyone but himself. When I raised my head ag

  • Divorced and Falling for the Tattoo Master   Where are we?

~ SIENNA ~A frown crossed my face. “What part of the gym makes it better? The sore muscles? Hand calluses? Machine accidents?”Gavin gave me a look that could best be described as pitiful; a face that clearly said I didn’t know what I was missing. “The discipline it builds. Results. Confidence in yourself for doing what you said you would do,” he replied. “Sounds like we’re talking about something other than attempting to tear your ACL with weights twice your size.”“You won’t tear anything if you have a good trainer.”“Thank you, I’ll pass.”“Don’t knock it without giving it a chance.”My head snapped towards him. “Wait. Why are you trying to make me go to the gym? Are you trying to tell me something?” I narrowed my eyes. “Are you calling me… fat?”We had a gym in my parent’s New York home but I never really used it, much to my mother’s chagrin. I had always belonged to the faction of people who inhabited their bodies without scrutinizing them. I used to think mine was beautiful

  • Divorced and Falling for the Tattoo Master   Babygirl XI

~ SIENNA ~The day I fell for Gavin’s trick and admitted I attended yoga classes in this plaza, I knew I had made a mistake. This moment confirmed it. I stood motionless, tray in hand, backpack digging into my shoulders, staring straight at him and wondering why I hadn’t just ordered takeout like I’d planned. Why I’d decided to dine in at the last second. It was just like the first time we met here. Him with his ballerina niece, me fresh out of yoga. Only this time, he was the one sitting and I was standing. Wait, he wasn’t sitting anymore. He just stood and was coming right towards me.My heart slammed against my ribs so hard I thought I might drop the tray holding what had unceremoniously become my regular order at this café. I tightened my grip and tried to walk away but my legs wouldn’t move. Gavin was in front of me in no time. “Hi babygirl.”I swallowed. “Hi.”He reached for the tray and before I could protest, my strawberry boba tea and cake were in his possession. “I did
