Lillian’s POV

Keegan’s figure stands rigid in the doorway. His eyes are dark and furious, while his jaws are clenched together like he is struggling to contain a storm.

How long had he been there? What had he heard?

I hope he has heard what kind of person Sienna really is. But then again, that will be fate being good to me, which it hasn’t been lately and will be a real miracle to happen now.

And it turns out, I am right because that anger in his eyes is really meant for me.

“Is that really how you see me?” The look in his eyes and his voice are laced with betrayal. Pain even.

But those emotions are only fractions of what I see in him. Everything about him shouts anger.

I heave a sigh and stare at him with empty eyes. Whatever he hears, I say is the truth, though. Things are probably blessings in disguise, and he… It’s true that he only remembers me when it's convenient for him… Like how he drags me here for someone else’s sake.

He lets out a laugh that sounded almost like a borderlin

Lillian’s POVCraig looks stunned, echoing, “A lone wolf?”Disbelief is evident in his voice as he continues with concern, “You do realise what that means, right? You’ll be vulnerable. You will not have any official protection from any pack. I mean, yes, you can take refuge here and be spared most things, but that doesn’t give you full access to all resources, and I will not have the right to save you from any problems.”His eyes glint with worry, gently adding, “You’ll be on your own for most things.”I meet his gaze calmly and nod my head. “I know, but right now, that’s what I want.”After taking another sip from my wine, I explained further in hopes of not worrying him so much. “I just need more time. To find myself again. I spent so long being someone else’s Luna… I need to remember who I was before that.”He stays silent for a moment, fingertips sliding up and down on the step of his glass before he leans forward on the table, concern furrowing his brows. “Are you sure this isn’t

Lillian's POVMy fingertips slide on the stark black ink like a wound pressed to the divorce paper sitting on my lap.I stare at the dried signature… Keegna's signature, that's etched with finality across the page just right beside mine. One copy has already been submitted to the elders, while this one was given to me by Craig's beta, Drake, earlier this morning. He doesn't offer me any words which I appreciate. Instead, he just respectfully gives me a nod before leaving me alone sitting on the patio of the garden.Three years…I can't help but let out a deep sigh every time I think of that. The three years of compromises, of quiet waiting, of being invisible, of burying my pain beneath dutiful smiles and unreciprocated loyalty… Three years of foolishly convincing myself that things will get better and that… he will see and love me soon…All of those have come to an end.Just like that, it's all over. But…I raise my hand and place it over my chest where my heart pumps slowly. But why

Lillian’s POVPutting my weight on one hip with my arms crossed over my shoulder, I tilt my head and watch as Keegan’s figure vanishes from the closing door in a rush, with Dom following behind him, after hearing the report.Suddenly, with the doctors and nurses busy attending to the other beds in the emergency room, it still feels colder from tension… but without his presence, I’ll say lighter than the tension earlier.Sighing, I glance at Sienna from my peripheral vision and roll my eyes before standing straight. There’s no way I’ll stay in here.Besides, it’s not as if I volunteered to come in here in the first place.I am about to leave when that annoying sugary voice of hers halts me as she calls out, “Wait–”Despite stopping, I didn’t turn for her. As much as possible, I don’t want to look at her face masked with lies and pretence.“You should hurry up and sign those stupid divorce papers already. What’s with the hold-up? You already lost!” she says before continuing in a lazy v

Keegan’s POVThe walls of the packhouse’s conference room never feel so tight as usual. It’s like it’s closing in on me.After hearing what Dom has said, I rushed back here. Now, I am seated at the head of the long table, hands clasped tightly together, and a vein twitching at my temple as the elders and other ranked members surround me.While I know Dom, as the Beta, supports me. The intense accusing stare from the three silver-haired elders who have been around since my father’s time and the Gamma and other warriors is frustrating. They are all speaking at once, like they just encountered a national catastrophe. Their bickering, pushing agendas, and demanding answers. With their mouths’ noises filling my head, I can barely actually hear them. It’s like their voices are blurring into the distance while my mind drifts back to the hospital.I remember how Lillian looks at me like I am a fool for rushing to the hospital and dragging her in there. The disappointment and disgust in her ey

Lillian’s POVI can’t believe my ears. What? He wants me to come with him, and what? Help Sienna? After everything? Was I that martyr in his eyes?Despite his grip on me, I dig my heels into the ground and don't move. In this moment, while looking at him, who looks worried and like a hero ready to run to his damsel in distress princess, I realise that he will never change, no matter how much he claims to fix things. In the end, I will always come second. I’ll always be the third party.Just seconds ago, he was looking at me with those deep eyes, flickering with desperation, promising to treat me like a Luna as I deserve to be. And yet, at the first sign of Sienna being in danger, he doesn’t hesitate to drag me into her mess, even if it means risking my life.“Stop being stubborn, Lillian. Come with me,” he repeats as he pulls me roughly, his voice sounding desperate than ever.My heart throbs in protest and keeps my ground. “No.”His face darkens, eyes looking at me coldly as he threa
