JOANNA.

I pulled up to the mansion. Work was over and I had returned home. I didn't know if Luther had returned as well but I couldn't sight his car..

As I stepped inside, I called out for Diana, hoping Luther might be home. She emerged from the kitchen with a warm smile because she was preparing dinner.

"Welcome home, miss. How was your day?" Diana asked me.

I glanced around the living room, but Luther was nowhere to be seen. "Diana, has Luther come home yet?" I asked.

Diana shook her head. "No, miss. Mr. Luther hasn't been home since this morning he left for work."

“Okay no problem.” I replied.

I headed upstairs, eager to change into something comfortable before dinner. I was enjoying this office work..

i went upstairs and passed Luther's room, a memory struck me about the last events, the mysterious girl he talks about. Who could she be? Why was I suddenly curious about her? I felt like I might find something, a hint or anything..I just felt the instinct to ente

LUTHER’S POVThe sun filtered gently through the trees in the courtyard of the mansion, casting soft golden hues over the gathering. Joanna stood beside me, glowing, her hands resting gently on my arm as we faced our small crowd of friends and family.I cleared my throat and glanced at her before speaking. “First of all, we want to thank every single one of you for being here today. It’s been a journey one filled with trials, with hope, with healing—and through it all, this little angel has been our greatest gift.”Joanna looked at me, and we both smiled before saying in unison, “Her name is Ariella Grace Martins”There was a moment of warmth. Clapping erupted. Cheers. Smiles. Even Diana let out a soft little squeal from where she was holding the baby, gently rocking her in a white satin wrap.“Ariella,” someone whispered with a grin. “So beautiful.”“A name with light,” another said.Joanna leaned her head on my shoulder, and for that moment, all the chaos from the past felt like a fa

JOANNA Two months. It had been two whole months since she came into our lives, and yet it still felt surreal. Our daughter. Our miracle.Today was her naming ceremony. The sun was kind to us—warm but not harsh, with a gentle breeze that carried laughter, music, and the clinking of glasses. The front lawn of Luther’s mansion had been transformed into something magical. White and blush-pink florals arched around the entrance, soft ribbons danced in the wind, and a low, elegant playlist floated from the DJ’s booth at the far end of the lawn.Everything felt… whole.I moved through the crowd slowly, dressed in a soft silk lilac gown that flowed around my waist. The bump was gone, but the emotions still clung to my skin. I smiled at guests, Luther’s father, a few close friends, familiar faces from Dickson’s circle, people who had stood by us.Luther was nearby, chatting with Dickson and a few of his business associates, but his eyes always followed mine. It was something I had grown used

JOANNAI was sitting up on the hospital bed, my hands resting over my belly, feeling the soft thumps of life inside me. Luther sat beside me, his hand never leaving mine. The doctor glanced up from the clipboard and offered a reassuring smile. “However,” she began, her voice steady, “based on the results of the scans and the monitoring we’ve done today… your delivery date is very close.”My heart skipped. I looked up at her quickly. “How close?”She gave a small nod. “You’ll be due in just about a week. Maybe even sooner.”Luther straightened up in his seat. “So… what happens now? Does she stay here?”“Yes,” the doctor said. “We’ll be keeping you here for close monitoring. We can’t risk another incident, especially not this close to labor.”I inhaled deeply and nodded. “Okay. Thank you, doctor.”The doctor gave me a gentle pat on the leg. “You’re in good hands. Just rest, Ma'am. Let us worry.”With that, she turned and quietly exited the room.Silence lingered for a few seconds.Luthe

Joanna’s POVWeeks had passed since the night everything shattered and then somehow began to mend.My baby bump had started to show. Each morning, I woke up to Luther’s gentle touch on it, his lips pressing soft promises against my belly. He said we were safe now. That it was all behind us. But part of me didn’t breathe freely, not yet. Not until this moment. The courtroom was packed. The hum of tension buzzed through the walls like static. Cameras. Reporters. Whispers. The trial of Cassie, Asher, and Mike had become the city’s favorite headline.I adjusted slightly in my seat, placing a hand protectively over my stomach as I watched them all walk in, handcuffed.Cassie’s once-cunning eyes looked tired. Ashamed. Or maybe still angry. I couldn’t tell anymore. Asher tried to mask his panic behind arrogance, but it cracked the moment he saw Luther sitting beside me. Mike just kept his head low.Luther turned to me, and our eyes locked. He gave me a nod, calm, strong, like always. That

LUTHER Behind the glass, I watched her.Cassie or Cathy, or whatever name she was going by now—sat in the metal chair like she was carved from stone. Arms crossed. Shoulders high. Chin up. She hadn’t said a word. Not one damn word since they brought her in.The officer across from her leaned forward again, trying to pierce her silence. “Cassandra, do you understand the charges against you?”She blinked, slow. Blank. Unbothered.Dickson stepped beside me, arms folded tightly. “She’s waiting,” he muttered. “Waiting for a deal, or waiting for Asher to clean this mess for her.”“He won’t,” I replied. “We already have his panic on record. He’s out of cards.”The officer tried again. “You were seen at the event. You drugged Luther martins. You attempted murder. And you framed him for sexual assault. You're looking at years in prison. Decades.”Still nothing. Just a little smile curling the edge of her mouth. That cold, signature Cassie smile.“She thinks she’s untouchable,” Dickson said u

Author’s pov The clock ticked louder with each passing second. It was already dark. And Luther still wasn’t home.Joanna paced the living room like a madwoman. Her hands trembled every time she looked down at her phone. She had called him over and over again. Nothing. No text. No response. Nothing since that one brief call when he’d told her to trust him.But how could she trust him when he wasn’t here? When the only thing keeping her together was hope? She checked the time again.9:57 p.m.Still no sign of him.She sat down for barely a minute before springing up again, tears brimming at the edge of her lashes.Diana, sitting nearby, tried to keep her calm. “Come on, Mom. He’s going to be okay,” she said softly, but even she sounded unsure.Joanna just shook her head, pacing harder. She was super scared this time “Something is wrong. I can feel it. I just know it, something happened.”And then suddenly—The sound of the door unlocking. She froze. Her heart lodged in her throat. The
