(Fabian's POV)

I picked up my glass and took a sip of the cold water, hoping it would help calm my mind, but it didn't.

That image was still stuck in my head. No matter how hard I tried to push it away, I could still see it. No matter how many times I told myself not to think about it, it refused to leave.

I let out a soft sigh and closed my eyes, hoping that when I opened them again, the image would be gone.

"Fabian, focus," I muttered under my breath.

"Are you okay, Fabian?" a familiar voice

(Aliana's POV)I sat back down, my chest tight with worry as I watched Delvin step out of the dining room to answer his call.He had said everything was fine, but the look on his face told a different story. He looked genuinely worried. Even the way Christine had hurried off to answer Grandpa Barrington's call felt strange.During the time I was married to Delvin, I learned that Grandpa Barrington rarely called. And when he did, it was usually because something was wrong with the company.“Is there something wrong with the company?” I whispered to myself over and over again.I clasped my hands together as I waited for them to return, hoping everything was truly okay.“These are the gifts Madam prepared...” the housekeeper said, pulling me out of my thoughts.I had completely forgotten she was still standing there with the gifts Christine had prepared. But honestly, who was thinking about gifts right now?“I...” I started to say.But the words died in my throat the moment I saw Delvin

(Delvin's POV)“You... you're lying,” Mum stammered, clearly still in denial.I sighed as I held her steady. How could I lie about something like this? She knew how much that incident meant to me. I would never joke about it.“I'm not, Mum. Aliana is really the one who saved me,” I said quietly.Mum gasped and placed a hand over her chest as if the truth had nearly given her a heart attack. She didn't say anything right away. Instead, she turned and stared at Aliana for a long moment. And during that moment, her gaze softened slightly. It wasn't the same look she used to give Aliana before. There was no hatred in it. No resentment... just shock.“You're saying she has saved your life twice now?” Mum asked quietly, still looking at her.“She’s my little doctor,” I replied.I remembered saying those exact words to her years ago. And according to Aliana, those words had inspired her to become a doctor.“Come on,” I said to Mum, gesturing toward the dining table.Mum hesitated for a mome

(Delvin's POV)“What are you doing here, Mum?” I asked, narrowing my eyes in surprise.I hadn't expected to see her here. When did she return to town? She hadn't mentioned anything about coming back when we spoke that morning.“Shouldn't that question be for her?” my mother asked, throwing a sharp glare at Aliana. “What is she doing here, Delvin?”Aliana swallowed uncomfortably.I knew how uncomfortable my mother's presence must have made her feel. But she didn't have to endure that anymore. This was her home too. I had bought this place with her in mind. She had every right to decide who would stay here and who wouldn't.I tightened my grip on her hand, silently reassuring her that I was here. And that I would protect her from anything. Even from my own mother.“She's free to come here anytime she wants,” I said coldly. My mother's lips parted in disbelief. She stared at me, then at Aliana, and finally at our clasped hands. Her lips pressed into a thin line. It was obvious she hated

(Aliana's POV)My mind still hadn't fully settled from everything that had happened that evening as we drove away from the mall. The way those workers had accused me of theft. The way Delvin had come to my rescue. And how, in the end, it turned out that Belicia was behind everything. The thought of it made my chest ache. My hands tightened around the handkerchief resting on my lap. It was the same one Delvin had returned to me a few moments ago.I still couldn't believe that the little boy from that day... the one who had inspired me to become a doctor... was Delvin Barrington."You are my little doctor," he had struggled to say after taking the herbal mixture I prepared."You'll be fine now. I'll go and call your teacher," I had replied urgently as I rubbed the remaining mixture onto his bitten leg. Then I glanced at him one last time before running off to find his teachers. As I ran, his words kept echoing in my mind. And for the first time in my life, I fell in love with the idea

I already knew who it was.Vivian.My hands trembled the moment I saw her standing in front of me. The glass tilted in my hand, and water accidentally spilled onto my shirt. The cold liquid soaked through the fabric and brushed my skin, but it did nothing to cool the heat rushing through me.Vivian's eyes widened immediately."Be careful, Fabian!" she said, her tone laced with worry as she quickly rushed off to get a tow

  • Doctor, Please Be My Wife Again   Chapter 144: The Door Wasn't Locked

(Fabian's POV)Vivian's phone rang again on the table, pulling my attention away from the football match I was watching in the living room. This had to be the hundredth time it had rung, and she still wasn't around to answer it.She had left it on the table about an hour ago before going upstairs to the room she had been staying in.Like a stubborn shadow that refused to leave, Vivian had practically insisted on coming back with me so she could continue taking care of me.She had even taken a full month off work just to follow me back.I had strongly objected to the idea, but Aliana seemed completely in support of it.According to her, I needed someone to look after me until I fully recovered. And since Vivian was willing to do it, I should let her.“If this is what I think it is, then I must tell you not to waste your time on me. My heart already belongs to someone else,” I had said one morning to Vivian while she was helping me clean up.I wasn't stupid enough not to understand what
