CHAPTER 6 NEW BOYFRIEND

ISSAC POV

The angry look on Henry's face lit up as he paced back and forth in front of my desk. "She's staying in a small apartment," he complained, sounding angry. "She didn't even want to go back home after all these years." It looks like she's trying to stay away.

Even though my mind was rushing, I leaned back in my chair and tried to act calm. 

Lily. She was back after all this time. She wasn't just going back; she was staying close. She hadn't gone back to her family's house yet, but she was here. That was enough for me.

Even though it had been years, I could still picture her from our meeting the other day. She had gained weight and changed from a girly shape to something more... tempting. She wasn't the shy girl I knew before. She was now a woman—a beautiful, tempting lady. My woman, if I had anything to say about it.

Even though I didn't change my face while Henry was ranting, I couldn't help but smile to myself. She's back. She's here, and soon she'll be working in my hospital right next to me. I'll have her.

But what Henry said next woke me up from my dream.

"But there's that guy," Henry said, raising his voice. "Mateo. I think she said he was a friend, but I'm not sure. She was acting strangely around him.God knows what's going on between them. I believe they are more than friends. "Maybe he's her boyfriend."

Boyfriend? It hit me like a ton of bricks. As the thought of Lily with another guy crossed my mind, I clenched my teeth and gripped the armrests of my chair more tightly.

 The rush of jealousy was fast and strong, and my heart pounded in my ears. What else could she be doing with someone else? She shouldn't have let any man touch her.

Henry kept talking, unaware of the storm building up inside me. His voice was full of doubt as he said, "She's hiding something. She's not the same as she was before, Isaac.There's something going on for sure.”

"Let's give her some time," I snapped, trying not to lose my cool. As Henry talked about Mateo, I clenched my hands as if he had any right to be near Lily. Henry had no idea that I once had her right under his nose.

 He didn't know what I did, how I tasted her, or that she was mine before she left. Now the thought of another guy being close to her? It made me so angry that I couldn't stop.

Henry left, mumbling something about checking in on her again, but I could barely hear him over the sound of my own jealousy roaring in my chest. 

I hit the table hard as soon as the door shut behind him. 

"Lily. With someone else? Not at all. That wasn't going to happen. Not now. Not ever.” I snapped furiously.

The water glass in my hand broke when I squeezed it hard, and the pieces cut into my palm. I didn't care that blood was on the desk. I was too angry to think about anything else when I saw Lily smiling at another guy.

She shouldn't have let him touch her. She should be mine, so how could she let anyone get close to her?

As I stomped out of my office, I barely paid attention to the blood running down my fingers. I knew where she was, and I knew I had to see her. She was now working in my hospital, in my region. She couldn't stay away from me forever.

As I walked down the hall to the meeting room, I didn't care that people were staring at me. My hand was still bleeding. Lily and that damn Mateo were among the new doctors that Mr. Walker was presenting. Anger made my vision blurry when I saw him standing too close to her.

"Mr. President!" Mr. Walker's words cut through my fog, and he looked at me with wide eyes as he saw that my hand was bleeding. "Your hand… you’re bleeding."

He didn't bother me; I looked straight at Lily. She just stood there with wide eyes that went from my hand to my face. The worry in her eyes made me feel better, but it wasn't enough to calm me down.

I growled, "I'll be fine," and kept my eyes on her. "But I want Doctor Lily to take care of this."

Her lips split in surprise, and I could see that she wasn't sure what to say. But she nodded and took a step forward, her hands shaking slightly. I didn't let her think about what she did. When I looked around the room, my voice cut through the stress like a knife.

"Is everyone really free?Why do all of you stand there? Return to your work now.”

Everyone in the room left, leaving just two of us. 

Lily stood there looking at my hand, her breath getting caught in her throat. My heart was racing. I was sure of what I wanted. I knew what I had to do.

Now that she was back, I wasn't going to let her go. Not for another guy. Not for anyone.

I spoke in a low, dangerous voice, "Come on, Doctor.I'm waiting."
