After the weird coffee date with my mother, I decided to go to the office to get some work done so that I could take my mind off of everything. I didn’t want to think about what she had told me and her ultimate decision because she hadn’t told me what she was planning to do.

I knew how badly my father treated her and how dangerous it could be for her at my father’s house, but there was nothing I could do for her if she didn’t let me help her.

Working would help me take my mind off of everything and stop worrying so much. When I got to the office, everyone was whispering and looking at their phones.

I wondered what was going on because it must’ve been something serious to get everyone in a ruckus. It didn’t look like anyone was doing any work at the moment. They were all too busy gossiping.

I brushed it off as office chatter and walked to my office to get some work done. My assistant wasn’t at her desk because I had also told her to work from home because I would. I never expected t

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Personal

“What do you want to ask? You can ask me anything from now on, and I promise you full transparency on all matters. I would never hide anything from you because you’re my queen now, and secrets create divisive issues.”I could see sincerity in his eyes, and I knew that he wasn’t lying to me, that he would be very transparent in all things. I didn’t know what I had done to deserve a man who was so dedicated to me, but I was going to enjoy him for as long as I was alive.“I’ve heard rumors about your mother, and you never talk about her except when you’re praising her. I hear she’s the reason you hate rapists so much. Did something happen to her that impacted how you see the world? I know there’s nothing to love about rapists, but you’re more passionate about eliminating them than most men are.”“Most men can’t resonate with a fear that most women have about something like that happening to them. They think that some of these things rarely ever happen to men, so they don’t really empathi

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Punishment?

“Punishment? I saved your life, and you’re going to punish me? It is so wrong to care about the man just married? You’re not the only one who risks their life for a person you love. I would die for you. I wouldn’t want to survive at the expense of your life, so you can punish me all you want.“I know I did the right thing, and I would never sit by and watch you bleed out without trying to do anything to save you.”He was speechless by the time I finished speaking because the only people who risked their lives to save him were the ones he had paid and Raffael, because he was addicted to putting himself in danger. But he needed to know that I loved him and I was dedicated to him. And now that we were married, I wouldn’t want to lose him, but I just had him. Nothing would change the fact that I would risk my safety for his.“That’s stupid to say. Never say it out loud again. I wouldn’t want you to risk your life for me—”“Get over it because I’m going to do it over and over and until you

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Unconventional

“I don’t want to talk about all the rumors that are surrounding my relationship with Emilio. I’ll speak to you when I finally tell the whole family the truth. I know this is hard, but you have to promise me that you won’t tell anyone, especially not Tom’s family.” “It’s true, isn’t it? You helped him escape from prison. I can’t believe you would do something like this, knowing what kind of man he is. He will turn on you faster than you can imagine. Men like that are not reliable.”“And our family is? All I know is that he helped me not to lose my license when there was an inconsistency with the case I had with my brother. Alessandro was ready to throw me under the bus, and Emilio wasn’t.”“He sent me evidence to clear my name when Elena accused me of switching the evidence, which I didn’t do, by the way. She was ready to put me in prison and throw my career away just so she could salvage her reputation.”“I could go on and on about all the times that Milo has been there for me when n

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Are You Crazy?

“What the fuck is going on here? He’s the one person your father hates more than anything, and you’re telling me to treat his bullet wound? If you ask me, we should just let him die.”“Lorenzo, please just treat him right now, and I’ll explain things later. I don’t want to lose him.”He saw the ring on my finger, but he didn’t say anything because I had already told him that I would explain everything after he treated my husband. It was weird to call Emilio my husband, but he was, and I needed to protect him no matter what. We were in his goth estate. I had asked a bodyguard to fetch Lorenzo from his place, which meant he had to be blindfolded.Emilio may not have been in a position to speak, but I would always respect his wishes.Lorenzo didn’t understand why he had to be blindfolded until he got there and saw Emilio lying on our bed, unconscious. He asked me to remain outside as he gathered all his tools and prepared to remove the bullet from Emilio’s stomach and bandage him. I didn

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Attacked!

My screams could be heard through the air. The sound was so loud that I could’ve made myself deaf. One minute, Emilio was holding me, and the other, he was on the ground, bleeding out.Men surrounded us to attack us, and Emilio’s bodyguards rushed towards me and tried to get me to leave him there, but I wouldn’t. I could see some masked men approaching us, but I didn’t care. I only wanted to make sure that my husband would be safe.I didn’t care about my safety. All I cared about was his. “We’ll carry him. Please come with us. He’ll kill us if we let anything happen to you.”“He’ll die!” I screamed.“If he dies, then he’ll come back from the dead just to make sure he has given us a piece of his mind. Please ensure that you’re safe and come with us. We don’t want anything to happen to you.”I refused to leave until I saw them carry him in front of me. We rushed away as the bodyguards tried to protect me and shoot at the perpetrators.I wasn’t sure how they had even gotten into the pro

  • Don Emilio's Redemption   Married!

I never actually imagined what my wedding day would look like. I guess I always thought I would marry a man I didn’t want to marry, so it didn’t really matter. But looking at myself in the mirror, there was nothing more I wanted than to walk down the aisle and tie the knot with the man who made me the happiest. I didn’t even yearn for my father to walk me down the aisle. He would do nothing but put a stain on what was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. And it was.I had never imagined I’d marry in secret—least of all the man my father despised most. I was in yet another one of Emilio’s properties. He was very wealthy with property in places I didn’t think. The one we were going to get married in was a villa covered in golden themes. It seemed more like a home straight out of an AI-generated image than a real place. The gold was accentuated more by the sunlight falling onto it perfectly. It was Emilio’s coastal estate that he told me was his private sanctuary. It was hidden be
