I thought marrying Maxim would be as simple as to walk down the isle. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was taken in the middle of the night and rushed into an SUV. Maxim was nowhere to be found, only bodyguards.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked.

“You’ll see. The Pakhan asked us to bring you there so don’t worry.”

At least they gave me time to shower and wear presentable clothes. They made sure to instruct me to wear a black lace dress that was long and a black fur coat on top.

When we got to the mysterious location, they ushered me out and led me into an abandoned building. It was dark and only one bodyguard was holding a torch to illuminate the area.

“What is happening?” I asked, but no one answered me. I started to get nervous, planning to bolt out of there and escaped. I thought that the bodyguards had lied to me and this was another way of Vadim scaring me.

However, we stopped at a cellar and I relaxed a little.
