Landon Lancaster

“I told you to come early,” I let out a sigh as Abby walked into my office. “What took you so long?”

“I’m sorry, I saw something on my front porch that needed my attention.”

“You’re just giving me excuses, we are already late, let’s go.”

I stood up from the chair and grabbed my suitcase. I wasn’t upset that Abby came late, I was upset that she spent the night with my brother.

Even though I acted like I was cool with the whole arrangement, deep down, I was losing my shit.

I knew I had to eventually accept my fate, but it was going to take a lot of time.

“Landon, I asked you where we are going!” Abby’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Oh, we are going out. There’s a new client who wants to meet outside the office and I didn’t want to go alone,” I replied, forcing my voice to stay steady.

“Or you just want to spend time with me,” Abby muttered under her breath as we walked into the elevator.
