Chapter 20: Drake POV
Over the previous week Lilli and I met up at the café to talk about the job and I explained as much as I knew about the work. She seemed happy and excited and I found myself hoping that she would enjoy herself.

The rest of the night is uneventful and after the club is cleared, we meet at the bar to count our tips for the night. Max comes out to tell us that we have had a great night and takings are higher than they have been in a while. We are all impressed and Ray pours everyone a drink to celebrate, as requested by Max.

At first after I went out for my break all was fine, I propped the door with a can and stood to the side to get some air. The alley way that the club backs on to, is narrow and we are at the back end, which is walled off, so there is only one way into it.

Drake jumps off Adam and scoops me into his arms just as both Rex and Tony appear in the alley, I'm not paying complete attention, but I gather that Max sent them to find us.

The next morning, I wake to sunshine streaming in through the window and a raging headache. As I try to sit up my whole body complains, and I realise that the adrenaline must have kept the pain at bay last night.

He is speaking to me but staring at my ribs, then he reaches out to touch my bruise. I flinch slightly, not really from the pain, it's more to do with the tingles I feel when his fingers connect to my skin, and my breathing starts to quicken in response.

That was intense, I've never felt such an uncontrollable need to be inside a woman in my whole life. At the point, which the coffee machine interrupted, I had been ready to take her on the kitchen floor.

After the events of this morning the bike ride to Embers feels different, calmer somehow. I'm not fighting my urges that are building from her touch. Instead I'm accepting and enjoying them, which is taking all the stress out of the ride.
