Viola watched Judith taking out a small bottle of red draft. Judith’s eyes gave a warning to Viola when she opened her mouth to ask her about it. Viola snapped her mouth shut.
“Meryl?” Judith called her in a pained voice.
Meryl whipped her head towards her mother. Nervously, she asked, “What is it—” but she became absolutely quiet when a thick fog-like miasma shot towards her face and after that she didn’t remember anything. Even Viola was surrounded by the same miasma and she too had gone blank.
“Drink this,” Judith ordered Meryl in a harsh voice, handing her the bottle with the draft.

Brishor and Chezzal were at the end of their wits. Their minds played tricks on them. For the whole night neither could sleep. The previous night when Meryl was unconscious for a long time, Brishor felt helpless. While Chezzal sat near her all the time, Brishor thought that he would go mad, if she didn’t wake up.
