Chapter one

Jude stepped into the office. He stared at the man burning cigars without a care in the world with his back facing him. Maxwell rolled the chair to meet his gaze, holding the cigar in-between his fingers.

The room was occupied with smoke. Jude held his breath, how on earth was he supposed to complain without losing his precious head. Jude had worked as his assistant for many years and if there was anyone who knew him better, that would be him.

That is Maxwell, If you know how to keep your thoughts to yourself and put your mouth in check. Working beside him shouldn't be a problem for you. Betraying Maxwell King was equal to selling your soul to the devil.

It's was working hours but nothing seemed to bother him. As no reasonable man would stand his way.

Jude, his assistant dropped a file on the table. Maxwell gazed at him with his green cold eyes. And his handsome chessel face depicts no emotion. As if he understood his glance.

Jude took the initiative to explain to him what was in the file." it contains detailed information about your new secretary" he said softly in a respectable manner. As he keeps firing secretaries like changing clothes.

He didn't know how to feel because his choice of secretary was one in history. The almighty Mr. King has not had a female secretary as far as his time of office was concerned.

He stared at the file coldly and parted his lips"what have you discovered about the video?" he placed the cigar in his mouth.

He instructed Jude to investigate the sex video of Alex and Nicki that he received earlier. He knew better than anyone that Alex was trying to get on his nerves.

He planned to trigger him to lose himself completely but unfortunately, the man's emotions do not lie in Nicki.

He and Alex turned enemies after their grandfather handed over his position as the president of the Kings group to Maxwell.

Alex was the eldest but his irresponsible side of attitude led him to lose his birthright to his junior brother. Now Alex feels cheated by Maxwell.

"Boss, the video is real, and based on our investigation miss Nicki was drugged in the green valley bar.And master Alex's motive is to provoke you".his face was still expressionless as usual. His facial expression never changes no matter what the situation might be and that makes him handsome and chilling at the same time. Jude didn't miss that. And didn't seem surprised.

Why is he not showing any concerns? does the situation look simple to him? Jude was expecting him to lose his temper. That was what he had been preparing himself for since he got the result of the investigation.

Does he not love miss Nicki? He stared at Max's expressionless face that was no different from his normal looks.

Max never thought his enemy brother would go that far into using Nicki just to get to him. Is he that desperate? Willing to hurt others to get to him. He released the smoke from his mouth. " find out the whereabouts of Nicki" he said for Jude to glare at him with mixed feelings.

Maxwell was only with Nicki because he didn't want to be pressured by his grandparents on useless dates.

So the beautiful woman was just a shield for him to escape all dating plans Grandpa King's had for him, even though he never intended to separate from her despite her unfaithfulness because he never planned on settling down as a husband...

Jude was left in a confused state.

To understand Maxwell was confusing. The more you struggle to understand the worse things turn out for you, the bad your head ACH.

A while ago he showed no concern and now he wanted to know the whereabouts of miss Nicki? It was earnestly clear that the man had no feeling for Nicki...

Jude nodded and bid him far well.
