Chapter two

Emma adjusted her skirt after stepping out of the public bus. She's not a rich girl, just a poor orphan with no financial background. She sighed a relief staring at the tallest building in the city. The most capable company that pays well but was difficult to enter. It's was her dream to work in a place like that even though she knew it wouldn't be easy but here she was. Like a dream come true.

*

She was required to start work today according to the email she got the day after her interview.

*

Emma was a normal girl with a simple life. She's got dreams and fancies. Despite the hard path in her life, she never lost herself. She never missed the opportunity to look cheerful.

*

The girl was full of life and dreams. The light in her beautiful sea blue eyes never losses its brightness. It always shines to cover her sorrow and pain.

*

She sighed once again before tracing her steps towards the building. It seems the security man was aware of her coming. He immediately opened the door for her without asking her any questions. That even made her cool down a little.

*

A man approached her as she stepped inside the grand building. "miss Emma, please this way" she nodded with a smile. She walked behind him quietly into the elevator.

*

If it was at normal circumstances she would quell the man before anything else.

*

"please you knock before you enter," the man said as a warning and turned to leave. Everyone in King's group knew how ruthless and arrogant the president was. What! is he leaving me here? Emma grew more anxious standing in front of the black door.

***********

She trotted in after giving the door a slight knock. Emma locked eye contact with the handsome man sitting on the chair. His handsome face was as perfect as a sculptured object. His green eyes were as calm and harmless as the ocean. His hard muscles that she didn't fail to notice even though he wore a suit.

*

She couldn't believe her eyes. It was said that even some of the workers in the King's group have never set eyes on the mysterious President. How on earth was it possible? were her eyes playing tricks on her? Emma was no different from the other girls when it comes to Maxwell King. She had her fantasy regarding him.

*

Maxwell frowned at her. What gave her the courage to stare at him like that? was she tired of life?

*

"mmm," Jude's carefully cleared his throat to prevent emergency recruitment. Which brought the dream girl to her sense. He couldn't cage his smile. That was the first time a woman had stared straight into Maxwell's eyes without fear. And the most astonishing part was Maxwell staring back at her.

*

Maxwell gave him ' you know what to do look '

"Miss Emma, please allow me to show you to your office" Jude gestured his hand. She looked back at Maxwell as if seeking his permit but surprisingly he gave her a nod. That he didn't realize it himself.

*

What's up with these two? Jude couldn't help discarded any silly thought going on in his mind. He guided Emma out.

*

Maxwell lighted a cigar still gazing at the door.

*

Emma on the other hand was stunned. Secretary? but she didn't apply for a secretary post or did she? Jude who saw the confused look on her face tried to clear the atmosphere, "you just happened to match the expectation of this position, and also we needed a fill-in as soon as possible"

"But I don't know-how" frankly, she was happy but was too much for somebody who just entered into the business world. Besides she applied for a simple position at the financial department and here she was, playing a role out of the field of her professional abilities.

*

What if she screwed up?

*

"don't worry you will be okay, I believe in you," he said sincerely.

"Just give it your best, shot " he said his final words and left.

*

The office wasn't big but certainly luxurious. She sat and picked the first file she caught sight of on the desk.
