Chapter 6: My Phone

The party turned out well for Gigi and she had so much fun. She tried not to stare at Liz for that long and instead she spent the whole time with her friends. They drank a little bit and spent hours and hours just talking and making fun of the drunk adults at the party. It was really nice seeing them again, it felt like nothing had changed and she was a teenager all over again. They were still having the same inside jokes, same ways of talking to each other and the same funny way of interacting.

The feeling of being at home was still present and Gigi couldn't be happier about it. She had really missed Jayla's horrible jokes, Wanda's comments about everything and just Nicky existing in the same universe as her. Her face really hurt from smiling, was it a greater feeling than that? She did not want to know.

Everything seemed like it was back in its place, even her parents where dancing and interacting more. Well, not everything was back in its place, Liz was not by her side?. Yet. But still, she couldn't complain about anything, she was really humbled and grateful that she could recover a bit of the friendship she had with her favorite people on Earth in a matter of hours, her first hours back in Illinois. The fact that they were treating her so normally made her heart melt.

Liz also tried to stay away from Gigi as much as she could. In fact, she decided to tell a little white lie to Delilah and tricked her into believing that she had a stomachache and they spent almost the entire party at Liz's room. She really tried to keep her mind on the conversations she was having with her girlfriend but all of her thoughts were downstairs around that blonde girl who seemed to be waiting for her with crossed arms.

The fact that she couldn't erase Gigi's existence anymore (at least that night) was almost painful to Liz. She was so shaken up to see her just because she was trying her best to even forget Gigi existed. For Liz, Gigi was not her ex-best friend or her ex-whatever, it was somebody who did not cause any impact on her life, or so she wanted to believe.

"Hello? Where's your mind at, baby?" Delilah could act dumb, but she did not have a hair of dumbness on her body. Between the darkness of Liz's room and the loud music, she was not thrilled by where she was at, she wanted to be downstairs and finally meet the part of Liz's family she hadn't met yet and make a good impression.

They had been dating for a lot of months, more than she could count, but she still did not know half of her girlfriend's family, which was a little confusing to her yet she liked to think that it was because she was Liz's first real girlfriend and everything was new to her.

"Sorry, Lilah, I just need to lay down."

Gigi felt kind of disappointed when she left because she had only talked to Liz once and she did not feel like Liz was ever going to talk to her again. She tried to push the feeling away when she remembered that she did not need Liz at all to be happy but the bad feeling was still present.

Saying goodbye to her old friends wasn't easy either, she was scared that they had only given her a chance to hang out with them simply because they were not rude people and she was there, present. Gigi really wanted to see them again and to have a deeper conversation to explain why she disappeared for three years, and was afraid that wasn't going to happen. She could believe that she was the best person in the world and that everything always turned in well for her, but she was still insecure inside sometimes.

Once she got home, she was really tired and a little bit tipsy. She undressed herself, got into her pajamas and opened her laptop to watch any movie she could find on Netflix. Her head was kind of spinning and her thoughts would only go back to certain orange haired girl at that party. However, she comforted herself saying that it was because she was so shocked by seeing her again that of course she was going to think about that for hours.

At the middle of the movie, she saw a message popping up on her screen.

"hey gigi, it's Liz, you left your phone at my house?"

Gigi's hands started to shake and the butterflies started flying non-stop in her stomach. She tried to remember the last time she saw her phone and she recalled leaving it on the table. The thought of Liz writing a message to her after all that time seemed so surreal to her, she almost felt out of her bed.

On the other hand, if Liz had to write to her by using her own phone, it meant that Liz had deleted her number from her phone. Auch. Was she ready to have a conversation with Liz again?

"I'm so dumb. I'm sorry, I'll pick it up tomorrow morning. Also, how did you figure out what my code is?"

"it's fine. i forget my phone everywhere, especially when i'm high. i tried with your birthday and it worked"

"also, don't worry i won't read anything"

Gigi's lockscreen was a photo of some trees and she was used to deleting all her messages and photos because she always wanted more storage available so she did not panic over that. She panicked over the fact that it was unearthly to be texting Liz, she almost forgot how it felt to communicate at all.

"High? You still do that? Gross."

"hey, you don't get to judge me"

"come to my place tomorrow at 10 am, i'll be here and maybe we can have that conversation that you wanted us to have"

"Sorry. My b. I'll be there at 10"

"don't take it too seriously. i'll see you tomorrow ? also i deactivated your autocaps, they suck."

Gigi felt like her heart was about to come out of her chest. She obviously couldn't catch an eye the whole night and the next morning the bags under her eyes were almost covering her entire face. What was she going to say to Liz? The orange haire seemed fine with talking to Gigi but they only talked for about five minutes both times so she did not know how was it going to be like having a real conversation with Liz. Also, why was she worrying that much about Liz? Did not they break up like three years ago?

After all, Liz had the right to be mad. Gigi ran away out of nowhere and broke Liz's heart. And even though she regretted it even to that day, what was done it was done.

Gigi tried to eat breakfast but her stomach was rejecting food, she was too nervous to eat. She dressed herself almost like she was going to an informal meeting in someone's dorm at college (because she did not want to be seen as too prepared for the occasion).

Being alone with Liz was a big deal for her, she might have to admit that what she did was wrong and she did not know if she was ready for that yet. Yes, three years had passed by, but the wound was still open.

"Where are you going?" Sarah asked, she had been at her office until she heard Gigi walk downstairs. Gigi was too lazy to even feed herself so she decided to make breakfast for her. Also, it made her feel less useless in Gigi's life. Since she moved out, she became a full independent woman and as much as Sarah loved that, she still missed the little things like preparing breakfast for her daughter. "Why aren't you eating anything? At least finish your cereals." Gigi could pretend to be a grown up all she wanted but she still loved eating cereals for breakfast.

"I forgot my stupid phone at Liz's house." Answered Gigi trying to swallow at least half of the cereals she had in front of her.

"Oh, so you're seeing Liz! Tell her I said hi!" Sarah loved Gigi's and Liz's friendship and relationship in general, she adored the two of them and the idea of them bonding again made her really happy.

"I will, but please let me go or I will be late." Gigi was lying, she was always late anyways.

"Okay, leave." Sarah rolled her eyes "But you're eating the whole plate during lunch."

Gigi loved feeling like a little kid again, even if she hated to admit it. She loved spending time with her mom and she even loved how of a big fan Sarah was of her relationship or non-existing relationship with Liz. Sarah was truly a badass.

She kissed her mom on the left cheek and quickly left her house. The sun was bright and it was a beautiful hot day. Gigi was team summer all the way, she loved showing her body and feeling the sun reflecting on her body. People seemed happy too that specific day, like if it was a positive atmosphere all around. Gigi did not really believe in energies and the universe talking to her, but she, for sure, thought it was kind of a divine sign the fact that everything seemed so calmed and normal.

As she was walking to Liz's house, Gigi started remembering the morning she left Illinois. It was a recurring memory for her and she hated it.

Chapter 58: Flashback"You seriously need to stop kissing me". Gigi warned with a high-pitched voice while she tried to pull Liz's face away from hers with a big smile on her face. "Why would I do that?" Liz complained and tried to kiss her girlfriend once again. They were sixteen lying on Gigi's bed on a normal Tuesday night. Gigi's mom did not like people staying over during weekdays but always made an exception when it came to Liz. Everything was an exception when it came to Liz. "Because it's late and we need to sleep." Liz was not buying that. She knew Gigi was going through something, and had been going through it for the whole day but was not willing to share it with her. "Gigi, it's me, you can tell me anything, you know?""How do you know me so well?" Gigi half-complained and turned to her left to face Liz. "What if someday you ever stop loving me?" She threw that thought so fast to Liz that the orange-haired had to think if she had heard that correctly. "Is that what got

  • Dress   Flying

Chapter 57: FlyingLiz's mom had always made sure her daughter knew that nothing was impossible, every single thing she wanted was achievable if she tried hard enough. And, for a while, Liz believed her. She was always a happy child, the creative one, with her head in the clouds and always having fun, nothing could ever be ruined for her, she always found ways to make every situation she was in like a daydream. Until one day she discovered the one thing that she could not do: flying. She was seven and was looking at the sky with Gigi laying next to her when the idea of flying appeared in her mind. She had run to where her mom was, at the kitchen preparing the most delicious cookies for them, and told her that she had found the one impossible thing she was never going to able to do: flying. Her mom found the situation too adorable to crush her daughter's dreams so she told her that if Liz tried hard enough, one day, she was going to be able to fly. However, she warned, she did not hav

  • Dress   The Spy

Chapter 56: The SpyDelilah St. Louis could be many things. She was a clever girl, with the most amazing grades and a higher IQ than the average one. Her beauty was undeniable, no one had ever made her feel like she was not cute enough, she even had 'pretty privilege' when she went to parties and social events in comparison to her other friends. She was always offered drinks and let into places for free. She was independent, she had moved away from her house when she was just sixteen and had multiple jobs ever since without anyone's help. Delilah was hardworking, bright, impressive, reliable, punctual, and many other things, but she was not dumb. Yes, she could act as if she was dumb and make people think they could trick her, yet she always knew when something was not right, when something was not true. She could almost smell lies from miles away. Liz and she had started dating many months ago, she could not even count how many months they had been seeing each other with her fingers

Chapter 55: Marco"Why did it take you forever to grab two coffees I was dying of boredom here" Gigi complained and Liz felt even sadder. Leaving Gigi waiting outside was almost nothing compared to what she just got into, but it still made her feel terrible. Gigi was so relieved to see Liz coming out of that place, she was thirsty and also missed her terribly even if she had just left minutes ago. The orange-haired was holding two big drinks in her hands, both had cream on top of them and were iced, so Gigi was intrigued. When she tried the beverage, it tasted better than she had imagined and she felt butterflies in her stomach thinking about how much Liz knew her. "What? You were already missing me?" Liz shot back with a flirty tone, she was determined to forget what had happened and just enjoy her day with Gigi. If she could make her feel happy even for some hours, she was going to do it. Gigi's happiness was her happiness too. "What is this? This tastes great" They started slowly

Chapter 54: Deal"Gigi, you know I hate walking" Liz complained after following Gigi for fifteen minutes. The blonde was walking way too fast for Liz's taste just because of how excited she was. She had never imagined that being around Liz was going to boost her energy that much but it was what she needed to be completely happy. "Liz, you are the most annoying person I've ever met, and I'm not exaggerating" Gigi replied without breaking the smile she had been holding since Liz had agreed to follow her. "Can I at least know where are we going?" Gigi just nodded her head and held Liz's hand even tighter, she was not letting her know where they were going. It was the perfect day for being together and the perfect moment for them to go to that place they were heading to. They both felt like people were vibrating in symphony with them as they all seem happy and Gigi and Liz could only see smiley faces around them. Even if they were walking in complete silence, they were enjoying each

  • Dress   Are You Mad At Me?

Chapter 53: Are You Mad At Me?It was more than a surprise for Gigi to be wakened up by a noise and that noise being Liz standing right behind her. "Liz? What are you doing here?" Gigi was truly surprised and thought it was getting more common than she would like to admit casually seeing Liz again. "What are you doing here?" Liz shot back and started frenetically touching her hair. She was nervous, especially after what had happened the previous night and how many risks she was taking just for being there. "I needed to clear my mind a little bit and?. I don't know, I really like this place." Gigi looked vulnerable, she was so tired of being a 'bad girl', that day she felt different. "Can we talk?"Without even waiting to say yes, Liz sat down in front of her almost immediately. Yes, she wanted to talk to Gigi. Yes, she needed Gigi around and yes, she wanted to kiss Gigi. Also, the sun looked beautiful on her soft skin so she wanted to admire it from a closer spot. "I wanted to apol
