Chapter 25

Benson waited there on the couch, waiting for her to return so they could pick up where they left off. He waited patiently till he couldn't anymore. He rose from his chair and made his way to Julie's room. He noticed her asleep next to Julie's bed, seated on the ground with her head on the side of the bed.

A part of him scowled and raged at Julie for screaming at such an inconvenient moment. He had a distinct impression that they had or were about to have a moment before she did. But as he watched Alita sleep, he smiled and made peace with how everything turned out.

She was as much a beauty when she sleeps as she was awake. Benson stood by the door, leaning on the frame and crossing his hands over his chest as he studied both she and Julie.
