LEO'S POV

"Do you think you could help me carry these to the second floor?"

I looked at the freshman. He was a skinny kid with oversized glasses and a stack of textbooks that looked ready to collapse. He looked terrified. His eyes darted around the crowded hallway.

"Of course," I said. I stepped forward and took the heaviest three volumes from the top of his pile. I felt the weight shift into my arms. "I'm Leo. Which room are you in?"

"Room 214 ," he stammered. He looked relieved. "I'm Toby. Thanks, man. I really didn't think I'd make it."

I walked with him. I chatted about the best places to get coffee on campus and which professors to avoid in the English department. By the time we reached his door, he was smiling. I gave him a small nod and headed back toward the stairs. Helping people didn't cost me anything. It made the day feel a bit lighter.

As I stepped into the main corridor, I noticed the atmosphere was off. Students were huddled in small groups, their voices low and urgent. A girl nearby was staring at her phone, her face pale.

"Did you see the latest alert?" she whispered to her friend. "The tide is coming in way too fast. They're saying the storm surge is unprecedented."

"It's just a winter storm," her friend replied, though she sounded unsure. "The coast guards always overreact."

I frowned. Outside the windows, the sky was a bruised purple. Rain slammed against the glass in heavy, rhythmic sheets. It wasn't just raining. The wind howled through the gaps in the window frames, creating a low, mourning sound that made the hair on my arms stand up.

I spotted Sushi near the dining hall as I made my way back. The calico stray was waiting for me. Her orange and black patches were stark against the gray concrete. I crouched down and offered her a piece of dried fish I'd saved. She rubbed her head against my palm. Her purring was a low vibration that settled the buzzing in my chest. I spent a few minutes scratching her behind the ears. I let the evening silence wrap around me.

I stood up and pushed my glasses up the bridge of my nose with one finger. My senior year was supposed to be a quiet stretch of distance sets at the pool and long nights in the library. I liked my routine. I liked the way my life was organized, right down to the specific blue pen I used to log my training intervals. If I lost that pen, the whole day felt fractured.

As I reached the third floor, the hallway smelled of stale popcorn. I walked toward room 312, thinking about the essay I needed to finish. But as I approached the door, I stopped.

There was a new name taped to the wood.

CALLUM REID.

The air vanished from my lungs. I wasn't in a college hallway anymore. I was sixteen again. I felt the crushing weight of deep water pressing against my eardrums.

I felt the cold seep into my bones and the terrifying silence of the void. My chest locked. The flinch hit me with the force of a physical blow. I gasped, my hand clutching at the doorframe for support.

I stood there for a full minute. My heart hammered against my ribs.

Callum Reid. The boy who had been my first love. The boy who had stayed silent while I sank. The boy whose father had fired my mother to cover up the mess.

I hadn't seen him in years, but I knew him. Everyone knew the Reids.

They owned half the real estate in the city. Callum's face appeared in society columns and sports magazines. He was the golden boy of the sprint circuit, a prodigy with a lethal kick and a family fortune that bought him every advantage.

he was a ghost that haunted my every achievement, a name I tried to erase from my memory but found etched into my skin.

I forced myself to breathe. I counted to ten. I couldn't let a name break me. I reached for the handle, my fingers trembling, and pushed the door open.

The room was no longer mine. Expensive leather bags were tossed across the floor. The scent of a heavy, woody cologne filled the air. On the right side of the room, the bed was already made with high-thread-count sheets.

Callum was lounging on the bed. His large frame took up nearly the entire mattress.

He wore a black t shirt that clung to his chest and shoulders, showing off the powerful build of a sprint swimmer. His piercing blue eyes locked onto mine.

A slow, smug smirk spread across his face. He looked the same, only sharper. There was a small, jagged scar on his chin from a diving board accident when he was twelve. I hated that I remembered that..

Beside him stood Sean Vance. Sean was a broad-shouldered guy with a grin that never quite reached his eyes. He was a fellow athlete who had transferred here last year, and somehow becominfg Callum's shadow and primary enforcer in the social hierarchy of the swim team.

"Look at this," Callum said. His voice was a deep, smooth drawl. "You actually showed up. I was starting to think you'd vanished into the library archives, Hayes."

I didn't move. I stayed by the door. I folded my arms and made myself as small as possible. "What the hell are you doing here, Callum?"

We reached the stairs and found three people sitting on the concrete, wrapped in oversized blankets. They looked exhausted and hollowed out, their faces smeared with mud and salt. One of them was an older man in a tailored suit that had seen better days; he looked like he had stepped straight out of a boardroom and into a nightmare. Beside him was a woman in her forties with sharp eyes and a determined set to her jaw, and a younger man who looked terrified and frail. As we approached, the older man looked up. His eyes scanned our gear and then settled on Callum. He froze, his face turning a pale shade of gray. "Callum?" the man whispered, his voice trembling with shock . Callum stopped dead in his tracks. His entire body went rigid, his muscles locking up as if he had been struck by lightning. He didn't speak. He didn't move. He just stared at the man with an expression of raw horror. "Who is this?" I asked, looking between them. The woman beside the man stood up, her voice shar

  • Drowning in You   38 - Survival

I didn't answer. I took him into my mouth, sliding deep and slow. The taste of him was intoxicating, a mix of salt and heat. I used my tongue to swirl around the head, creating a rhythmic friction that had him gasping for air. I could hear the wet, sliding sounds of my mouth working on him, a sound that felt obscenely loud in the quiet of our corner. I looked up at him while I worked, watching the way his face crumbled. His eyes were closed, his head tossed back against the brick wall, his jaw tight. He wasn't the golden boy of the sprint circuit right now. He wasn't the son of a real estate mogul. He was just a man who was completely at my mercy. I increased the pace, my tongue flicking against the underside of his cock while my hand gripped the base of his shaft, squeezing firmly. I wanted to push him over the edge. I wanted him to feel exactly how much power I could have over him if I chose to use it. Callum's breathing became erratic, his moans turning into jagged cries. He gr

  • Drowning in You   37 - My Turn

I didn't respond. I turned and walked toward our makeshift sleeping area, my heart hammering against my ribs. I needed to get out of these wet clothes. I needed to feel clean, even if clean was a relative term in this wasteland.I reached our small corner and began to strip. I peeled off the wet swim gear, the nylon sticking to my skin with a cold, clinging persistence. I shivered as the wind hit my bare skin. I reached for a dry tshirt and a pair of sweatpants, my movements mechanical.Callum was behind me, his presence a heavy weight in the air. He stripped off his own gear with a fluid, athletic grace that I hated myself for noticing. He didn't use a towel; he just shook the water off his body like an animal. I looked over my shoulder and saw the lean lines of his abdomen, the way his muscles rippled as he moved. My gaze lingered on the tattoo on his ribs (nessun dorma), and I felt a traitorous heat rise in my stomach. The memory of the attic flashed through my mind. The way he h

LEO'S POVI stood frozen on the concrete, the wind whipping my damp hair across my face. Phoebe’s words echoed in my head, a poisonous loop that refused to stop. She knew. She knew about the firing, the scandal, the hidden reasons why my mother had been cast out of the Reid household with nothing but a few boxes of belongings and a shattered reputation. The secret had been a heavy stone in my chest for years, and Phoebe had just turned it into a weapon.I felt Callum’s arm tighten around my shoulder. His grip was possessive, his fingers digging into my skin through the wet fabric of my suit. I could feel the heat radiating from him, a stark contrast to the freezing rain that had started to fall again. He was staring at Phoebe with a look of pure, unadulterated rage. His jaw was locked, and I could see the muscle in his cheek twitching."What do you want Phoebe ?" Callum asked. His voice was a low, dangerous rumble that usually made people back away.Phoebe didn't flinch. She just s

  • Drowning in You   35 - A Way Out

"Oh god... Callum... yes... right there..." Leo moaned, his voice breaking into a series of jagged gasps. I increased the pace, using my hand to grip the base of his shaft while my tongue flicked against the underside of his cock with clinical specificity. I wanted to push him over the edge. I wanted to be the only thing he could feel, the only thing he could think about in this dark hole of a room. I felt his thighs tighten around my head, his hips jerking in a rhythmic, desperate dance. He was close. I could feel it in the way his breathing became erratic and his moans turned into guttural cries. I used more suction, pulling him in deeper, my tongue swirling around the head in a fast, aggressive motion. Leo let out a loud, strangled scream as he peaked, his body convulsing under me in a violent release. He collapsed back onto the table, his chest heaving and his eyes glazed with a mixture of exhaustion and euphoria. I pulled back, a thin string of saliva connecting us for a f

  • Drowning in You   34 - Shut Up

He collapsed against me, his forehead resting on my shoulder, his entire body shaking. I didn't let go. I held him tight, my chin resting on the top of his head, feeling the raw vulnerability of him. For a moment, the arrogance and the hate vanished. I just wanted him to be okay. "I... I thought...." Leo whispered, his voice a broken rasp. "I know," I murmured, my voice softening for a fraction of a second. "But you're not there anymore. You're here." We stayed like that for a long time, two drenched men in a dark room, listening to the distant sound of water leaking through the ceiling. The silence grew heavy, charged with an intensity that had nothing to do with fear. The adrenaline of nearly dying was still coursing through our veins, turning into something hotter and more urgent. I felt Leo shift against me. He didn't pull away; instead, he pressed closer, his hands gripping my biceps with a desperate strength. I looked down at him and saw the way his lips were parted, h
