"Liar," Callum murmured. He leaned in, his breath warm against my ear. "You're a terrible liar, Leo. Your whole body screams it. Every time I get close, you stop breathing. You're in the closet so deep you've probably forgotten what sunlight looks like."

I pushed him away, my palms hitting his hard chest. "Get away from me."

Callum laughed and stepped back, his expression returning to one of smug victory. "See you at the pool sweetheart."

The walk to the aquatic center was freezing. A thin layer of frost covered the grass, and the air bit at my skin through my hoodie.

I walked in silence, my mind racing. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to bring up the kiss, to use my sexuality as a weapon against me. I had spent years building a wall around that part of myself, ensuring that no one knew the truth.

To have Callum rip it open within twenty four hours of his return was agonizing.

As I entered the lobby, I saw Sean Vance leaning against a trophy case. He was wearing a varsity jacket and chatting with a group of freshmen who looked like they were trying very hard to be liked by him.

When he spotted me, his grin widened, but it didn't reach his eyes. He waved me over with a mocking gesture.

"Hey, Librarian!" Sean shouted, loud enough for everyone in the lobby to turn and look. "Cal told me you were struggling with your morning routine. Do you need some help tying your laces? Or maybe a glass of warm milk before you dive in??"

The freshmen laughed, a few of them glancing at me with curiosity and a hint of pity. I ignored them and kept walking toward the locker rooms. I didn't have the energy for Sean's games. He was just a louder version of Callum, a sidekick who enjoyed the view from the top of the social hierarchy because he was too unremarkable to get there on his own.

"Don't be like that Leo!" Sean called out behind me. "We're just joking around. You really need to loosen up. You're so stiff it's almost impressive. I bet you sleep in a straight line."

I entered the locker room and found a quiet corner to change. I stripped off my clothes and pulled on my jammer, feeling the familiar tension in my muscles. I focused on my breathing, trying to clear my head. I needed this practice to be perfect. I needed to prove to myself that I was in control, that the water was my ally and not my enemy.

The pool area was humid and smelled strongly of chlorine, a scent that usually felt like home but today felt suffocating. The sound of splashing and shouting echoed off the high ceilings. I stepped onto the deck and saw Callum already in the water, finishing a set of explosive sprints. He moved through the water with a violent efficiency, his body cutting through the surface like a blade. He hit the wall with a powerful touch and surfaced, gasping for air, his chest heaving.

Our coach, a stern man named Miller who looked like he had been carved out of a piece of old oak, blew his whistle. Alright, listen up! Today we're focusing on endurance and recovery. Hayes, you're leading the distance set. Reid, you're on the sprint intervals. Let's move!

I dove into the water, the cold shock hitting my skin and waking up every nerve in my body. I settled into a steady rhythm, my strokes long and fluid.

I focused on the black line at the bottom of the pool, counting my breaths, feeling the water glide past my skin .

This was where I felt safe. In the distance sets, there was no room for panic, only the repetitive motion of survival and the steady beat of my heart.

As I turned at the wall, I saw Callum in the next lane. He was doing his sprints, his movements erratic and powerful compared to my steady pace. Every time he surfaced for air, his eyes found mine.

He wasn't looking at me with hatred... it was something something .....hungrier. He looked at me the way a predator looks at prey, analyzing every movement, every flaw in my form, waiting for me to slip.

I pushed harder, my lungs beginning to burn, but I refused to slow down. I wanted him to see that I wasn't the fragile boy he remembered. I wanted him to see that I had survived without him and that I didn't need his protection or his approval.

After two hours of grueling sets, coach Miller called it a day.

I climbed out of the pool, my muscles shaking from exhaustion. I grabbed my towel and headed back to the locker room, my mind already drifting toward the essay I had to finish for my Lit class.

The locker room was mostly empty by the time I got there. the silence was heavy, broken only by the drip of a leaky shower head.

I walked toward my locker, but as I reached for my bag, I realized someone was standing in my way.

Callum was leaning against the lockers, his damp hair clinging to his forehead.

He was wearing only a towel wrapped around his waist, his skin still glistening with droplets of water. He looked like a statue carved from marble, all hard lines and lean muscle.

  • Drowning in You   39 - Unsettled

We reached the stairs and found three people sitting on the concrete, wrapped in oversized blankets. They looked exhausted and hollowed out, their faces smeared with mud and salt. One of them was an older man in a tailored suit that had seen better days; he looked like he had stepped straight out of a boardroom and into a nightmare. Beside him was a woman in her forties with sharp eyes and a determined set to her jaw, and a younger man who looked terrified and frail. As we approached, the older man looked up. His eyes scanned our gear and then settled on Callum. He froze, his face turning a pale shade of gray. "Callum?" the man whispered, his voice trembling with shock . Callum stopped dead in his tracks. His entire body went rigid, his muscles locking up as if he had been struck by lightning. He didn't speak. He didn't move. He just stared at the man with an expression of raw horror. "Who is this?" I asked, looking between them. The woman beside the man stood up, her voice shar

I didn't answer. I took him into my mouth, sliding deep and slow. The taste of him was intoxicating, a mix of salt and heat. I used my tongue to swirl around the head, creating a rhythmic friction that had him gasping for air. I could hear the wet, sliding sounds of my mouth working on him, a sound that felt obscenely loud in the quiet of our corner. I looked up at him while I worked, watching the way his face crumbled. His eyes were closed, his head tossed back against the brick wall, his jaw tight. He wasn't the golden boy of the sprint circuit right now. He wasn't the son of a real estate mogul. He was just a man who was completely at my mercy. I increased the pace, my tongue flicking against the underside of his cock while my hand gripped the base of his shaft, squeezing firmly. I wanted to push him over the edge. I wanted him to feel exactly how much power I could have over him if I chose to use it. Callum's breathing became erratic, his moans turning into jagged cries. He gr

I didn't respond. I turned and walked toward our makeshift sleeping area, my heart hammering against my ribs. I needed to get out of these wet clothes. I needed to feel clean, even if clean was a relative term in this wasteland.I reached our small corner and began to strip. I peeled off the wet swim gear, the nylon sticking to my skin with a cold, clinging persistence. I shivered as the wind hit my bare skin. I reached for a dry tshirt and a pair of sweatpants, my movements mechanical.Callum was behind me, his presence a heavy weight in the air. He stripped off his own gear with a fluid, athletic grace that I hated myself for noticing. He didn't use a towel; he just shook the water off his body like an animal. I looked over my shoulder and saw the lean lines of his abdomen, the way his muscles rippled as he moved. My gaze lingered on the tattoo on his ribs (nessun dorma), and I felt a traitorous heat rise in my stomach. The memory of the attic flashed through my mind. The way he h

LEO'S POVI stood frozen on the concrete, the wind whipping my damp hair across my face. Phoebe’s words echoed in my head, a poisonous loop that refused to stop. She knew. She knew about the firing, the scandal, the hidden reasons why my mother had been cast out of the Reid household with nothing but a few boxes of belongings and a shattered reputation. The secret had been a heavy stone in my chest for years, and Phoebe had just turned it into a weapon.I felt Callum’s arm tighten around my shoulder. His grip was possessive, his fingers digging into my skin through the wet fabric of my suit. I could feel the heat radiating from him, a stark contrast to the freezing rain that had started to fall again. He was staring at Phoebe with a look of pure, unadulterated rage. His jaw was locked, and I could see the muscle in his cheek twitching."What do you want Phoebe ?" Callum asked. His voice was a low, dangerous rumble that usually made people back away.Phoebe didn't flinch. She just s

  • Drowning in You   35 - A Way Out

"Oh god... Callum... yes... right there..." Leo moaned, his voice breaking into a series of jagged gasps. I increased the pace, using my hand to grip the base of his shaft while my tongue flicked against the underside of his cock with clinical specificity. I wanted to push him over the edge. I wanted to be the only thing he could feel, the only thing he could think about in this dark hole of a room. I felt his thighs tighten around my head, his hips jerking in a rhythmic, desperate dance. He was close. I could feel it in the way his breathing became erratic and his moans turned into guttural cries. I used more suction, pulling him in deeper, my tongue swirling around the head in a fast, aggressive motion. Leo let out a loud, strangled scream as he peaked, his body convulsing under me in a violent release. He collapsed back onto the table, his chest heaving and his eyes glazed with a mixture of exhaustion and euphoria. I pulled back, a thin string of saliva connecting us for a f

  • Drowning in You   34 - Shut Up

He collapsed against me, his forehead resting on my shoulder, his entire body shaking. I didn't let go. I held him tight, my chin resting on the top of his head, feeling the raw vulnerability of him. For a moment, the arrogance and the hate vanished. I just wanted him to be okay. "I... I thought...." Leo whispered, his voice a broken rasp. "I know," I murmured, my voice softening for a fraction of a second. "But you're not there anymore. You're here." We stayed like that for a long time, two drenched men in a dark room, listening to the distant sound of water leaking through the ceiling. The silence grew heavy, charged with an intensity that had nothing to do with fear. The adrenaline of nearly dying was still coursing through our veins, turning into something hotter and more urgent. I felt Leo shift against me. He didn't pull away; instead, he pressed closer, his hands gripping my biceps with a desperate strength. I looked down at him and saw the way his lips were parted, h
