로그인Alena took a confident step forward. However, her steps stopped when her eyes met those of Jason and Kylie standing in front of her.
"Why Ms. Wilson?" Victoria asked. She joined Jason and Kylie in staring. "Who are they?"
"My ex-husband and his mistress," Alena replied.
Victoria's face grew grim. "How can they be here? Do they have any connection with Mr. James? How presumptuous. I will have Mr. James check their names and make sure they are ejected from this party." Victoria had already lifted her foot to go to James.
But Alena stopped her hand. "Leave they alone. There's no need to do anything to expel them, Victoria."
"But I'm sure you feel uncomfortable with their presence, miss."
"Whether they are there or not, I don't care. My intention in coming to this party is to represent my grandfather," Alena concluded firmly.
Obeying her boss, Victoria nodded and let Alena go first.
Just then, Anna approached Alena and gave her a disdainful look.
"Hey! Who invited you, Alena? Did you sneak into this party without giving an invitation to the security guard at the front door?" Anna accused as she girded her loins.
Alena held her breath. She had suspected that her ex-in-law would not let her rest.
And now Jason was holding Kylie against Alena.
Her eyes scanned Alena's appearance from top to bottom.
"Your dress is similar in color and style to a dress I saw in a fashion magazine. It's nice, but the one you're wearing must be an imitation. You can't afford an expensive dress." Anna pouted, a corner of her lip tugging at Alena's contempt.
Annoyed, Alena exhaled sharply, then looked at Anna with a look of indifference.
"I never asked you to comment on my dress. I don't care about your judgment anyway, Mrs. Anna. Get out of my way!" Alena walked away, but Kylie grabbed her arm.
Immediately, Alena threw her off roughly. "Let go of my hand!"
Victoria clenched her hands. Her teeth chattered as she watched her boss being mistreated. If she hadn't remembered Alena's message not to act without her permission, Victoria would have slapped Anna and Kylie in the face.
"Is this how you treat your ex-in-law, Alena? I know you and Jason don't have a relationship anymore, but Mrs. Anna was once your mother-in-law. You should respect her." Kylie said quietly.
Alena smiled ironically and crossed her arms over her chest. "I only respect people who respect me, not people who enjoy putting others down," Alena said firmly.
"You're getting more and more insolent!" Jason growled. His jaw hardened. "What are you doing here? Leave before I call security to throw you out. If Mr. James sees you at the party, he'll be furious that you're not his invited guest!"
"Oh yeah? Then tell Mr. James right now!" challenged Alena.
Kylie's eyeballs rounded. Her heart was filled with fear. What if Jason really called James and Alena told James about her true identity as Mr. Wilson's granddaughter?
Kylie's lie would definitely be exposed.
"Jason! Don't do that! This is Mr. James' party. He would be very upset if he found out about the chaos at his party. Just let Alena be at this party. We can't interrupt Mr. James' and his wife's fun. My grandfather would be disappointed if he found out his friend's party was a mess." Kylie touched Jason's arm.
"You are such a good woman, Kylie. You are perfect. Not only are you wealthy and Mr. Wilson's only granddaughter, you're also beautiful and wise. Unlike Alena, who is already poor, arrogant and ignorant," Jason said, pressing his lips together as he said it. His eyes searched Alena's face sharply.
Alena returned Jason's gaze flatly. The love she once had for Jason was now dead.
"But i still don't accept it. Alena has been very rude to me. Just throw her out without Mr. James knowing! An unauthorized guest shouldn't be at this party anyway."
"You're right, Mom." Jason nodded, then immediately called security and told them to throw Alena out.
Suddenly, Victoria's eyes widened as the two guards pulled on Alena's hand.
"Let her go! You are so presumptuous! She's Mr. James' invited guest!" Victoria tried to defend Alena.
"That's a lie! She's just a poor woman and a baker. Mr. James couldn't possibly have a relationship with a low-class baker. I told you she was a stowaway who snuck into this party for a free meal. Before Mr. James gets mad at you, get this woman out of here!" Jason ordered the two guards, pointing to the exit of the ballroom.
Alena snorted in annoyance. Her piercing gaze fell on Jason, who was now smiling mockingly at her, as well as on Kylie and Anna, who seemed content to see her forcibly evicted.
"You can't do this to me! Let me go!" Alena snapped at the guards.
"Let her go!" an order suddenly sounded loud.
Most pairs of eyes turned to the source of the sound.
They were stunned to see the arrival of three tall, strapping, handsome men in expensive suits and million-dollar loafers, now striding like three princes ready to fight on the battlefield.
Their chests were firm, and their gazes were cold and sharp. The people there were stunned. Their bodies seemed to freeze as they stared at the three charismatic faces that immediately caught their attention.
Jason and Kylie's eyes widened. So did Victoria, who had not expected the three handsome men to arrive at the right time.
Meanwhile, Alena's brow furrowed. Her eyes were fixed on Darren, who was standing between Gavin and Adrian.
A broad smile spread across Kylie's lips as she stared at the three handsome men in front of her.
Obviously, Kylie knew exactly who the three men were.
The most handsome and wearing a black suit was Darren, the CEO of the largest real estate company in America, Emerald Group.
The man with the cute face and the brown suit is Gavin, CEO of THE GLAM Enterprise. And the man with the sweet smile in the gray suit is Adrian, CEO of Viva Corp.
All three were men who liked Alena equally.
"I can't believe it. The three of them are the CEOs of the three richest companies in New York. All women dream of being their wives. But I will win Darren's heart. He's the most handsome and the richest of them all," Kylie said ambitiously.
But the smile on Kylie's face faded as she watched Darren move closer to Alena.
Kylie was stunned. The fire of jealousy instantly filled her chest cavity.
"Look, Mr. Darren is approaching Alena. Why would an honorable man like him approach a lowly woman like Alena?" Anna frowned, pointed at Alena, and snorted sarcastically.
Jason narrowed his eyes. "I don't know what Mr. Darren would do. Maybe Alena flirted with him once. Bitch!"
Kylie's chest felt even hotter. Especially when she saw how Darren greeted Alena with a smile.
"Good evening, Miss Alena Wilson!" Alena's brow furrowed when she heard Darren address her by her full name.
"You know my name?"
"Sure, my father and your grandfather arranged a match between us. In fact, we were almost engaged five years ago," Darren replied, causing Alena's eyes to instantly widen and her mouth to open. "I can't believe you're finally back after five years," Darren added with a faint smile.
Alena lifted her chin. Her eyes met Darren's.
Alena hadn't expected it. It turned out that this handsome man was the future fiancé she had once left for Jason.
After going through various pregnancy dilemmas that had caused Alena quite a bit of trouble, finally, the moment they had been eagerly awaiting was about to arrive. In a fairly spacious delivery room, assisted by the obstetrician Darren had specifically chosen to care for Alena.Today, their baby would be born into the world.Lying on the hospital bed, Alena was struggling to bring her first child into the world. Alena kept pushing as the doctor instructed.“Hold it. Breathe in slowly, then push.”Alena repeatedly squeezed Darren’s hand very tightly. So much so that Darren could feel the pain from his wife’s nails—which weren’t particularly long but felt like they were digging in.“Hang in there, honey. You can do this. I’m right here with you,” Darren gazed at Alena’s grimacing face, drenched in sweat.Although he felt panicked at the sight of Alena in pain, Darren had to try to stay calm so that Alena would feel calm as well.“Try pushing harder. The head is starting to show.” I
Finally, the day Darren and Alena had been eagerly awaiting had arrived.Wearing an ivory-white gown made of expensive silk and studded with Swarovski crystals, Alena looked absolutely stunning with her hair left loose yet neatly styled. Her veil, with its edges shaped like tiny flowers, was perfectly positioned to cover her head.Alena smiled as the woman with brown eyes admired her reflection in the mirror.Rose, who had earlier helped the makeup artist place the veil on Alena, now gently touched Alena’s arms to turn her toward her.“I never thought you two would finally reach this point.”Alena smiled, clasping the hand of her future mother-in-law.“I’m so grateful. God has given me the chance to become the daughter-in-law of the kindest mother-in-law in the world—you.”Hearing Alena’s words, Rose’s heart was deeply moved. Then she pulled her future daughter-in-law into a warm embrace.Rose couldn’t describe just how happy she was at that moment.*** Alena entered the church, hand
“There's something I want to show you, but to see it, you have to come with me right now.”Curious about what her grandfather wanted to show her, Alena nodded in agreement. She immediately asked her secretary to bring her bag from the CEO's office, then she got into the same car with her grandfather. It turned out that Jake took Alena to a luxurious villa in Puncak. The villa guard bowed respectfully when he saw Alena and Jake arrive.Alena walked while pushing her grandfather's wheelchair. They were kindly invited into the villa.“I just found out that Grandpa has a villa in this area,” Alena commented as she looked around the villa. All the furniture looked classic and the paint was dominated by light gray.“This isn't your grandfather's villa, it belongs to your parents.” That an
Taking a deep breath, Alena placed her iced americano on the table, then sat down in her chair. Meanwhile, Victoria sat in the empty chair in front of Alena's desk.“Exactly. Aside from my bakery, I don't want to enjoy anything that reminds me of the bitterness of my marriage to Jason. That house witnessed the collapse of our marriage. I don't want to enjoy a single penny from the sale.”Hearing this, Victoria understood Alena's feelings and nodded her head.At that moment, the secretary opened the door after knocking.“Excuse me, Mrs. Wilson. Mr. Darren is here to see you,” said Alena's secretary.Victoria's eyes widened. “Wow, Mr. Darren came before lunchtime. He really didn't want to miss lunch with you, Mrs. Wilson.”“Shut up!” Alena's eyes widened.Victoria just giggled. &
“Sorry, boss. She kicked us hard in the crotch. We were just shocked.”Marco snorted in annoyance at their excuse. As the bodyguards were about to grab Alena's hands again, Alena immediately said firmly. “If you dare to touch my skin even with your fingernails, I'll make sure you rot in prison!”“What did you say? You dare threaten us?” the bodyguards laughed.“Pretty lady, your threats won't scare us. Who are you to put us in jail?” Marco stood with his hands on his hips. He stood in front of Alena, who raised her chin fearlessly.“She is Mrs. Alena Wilson, the granddaughter of Mr. Jake Wilson.” Suddenly, a man in a gray suit stepped in and startled everyone. Except Anna and Alena.“J-Jake Wilson? The richest businessman in the country?” Marco gasped, his voice choked with surprise.
Their eyes locked in a sharp, cold stare. Darren pulled one corner of his lips up in a crooked smile. “You’re the asshole, Jason. You’re not only the destroyer of Alena’s life, but also a parasite in her life. After you cheated on her and abandoned Alena, now you’re doing everything you can to make her your wife again just because you found out she’s the real granddaughter of Jake Wilson?”Jason was silent. But his eyes were still sharp.“You already have diamonds, but you chose pebbles instead. Luckily, Alena has come to her senses and no longer loves a foolish man like you. Next time, don't be so obsessed with other people's wealth. Because trying to take what belongs to others will only drown you in an obsession that can never become reality.”“I don't need your advice,” Jason snapped sourly.“This isn't advice, I'm just stating the facts.
Because the three of them were ready with flowers in their hands. It seemed they were late and didn't have time to take Alena home from the hospital. With sour expressions, the three of them left the hospital and decided to go directly to the Wilson family home to check on Al
“Don't be arrogant! You don't know who you're dealing with, Alena. Standing before you is Kylie Wilson. She is a respected and powerful woman in this city. Everyone knows about the wealthy Wilson family background. With just one order, you will be kicked out of this restaurant.” Kylie
Meanwhile, at the Scott family mansion, Darren came out of his father's room and walked while adjusting the dark blue tie he was wearing. His mouth wouldn't stop grumbling. “Damn Adrian and Gavin! They must have conspired together to keep me from going to Grand Hills and meeting Alena! Just you wai
Back to Alena, who was feeling anxious because she had been waiting on that deserted road for quite a while, but not a single vehicle had passed by.“If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn't have gone to Grand Hills. Today is a very unlucky day for me. How could
