LOGINCHAPTER 4
"CHAPTER 4 "Why don't you ask your Dad for help?" his mother said when he told her about his problem. For several weeks, he had been searching for Miss Yummy, the woman he had a one-night stand with. But until now, he still hadn't found her. He was desperate to see her. He wanted to see again the woman who had completely captured his heart and mind. He could barely eat or spend time with his friends because he had become so consumed by the search that his mother noticed the dark circles under his eyes and how much weight he had lost. He sighed. "I can't." He looked at his mother. "And why? Your Dad is really powerful when it comes to business and tactics. He could find the woman you're looking for in just one day." "Then after that, he'll want me to become part of his company. I don't want to run a business." His mother shook her head, clearly disagreeing with him. "You're the only one who doesn't want to manage a company. What will you gain from being in a band? You earn almost nothing from it. In fact, your daily expenses cost more than what you make. You have to think about that." "I beg to disagree." "You're hard-headed. I don't know what I should do with you." She sighed as though she were already giving up because of his stubbornness. "You can help me yourself. Why do I need Dad's help when you can do it?" His mother stared at him. "I will not help you." "Mom!" His mother stood up and went back to her room. He clenched his fists in frustration. No one could understand him. Even though his family was well-known, it still wasn't easy to ask them for help because they would insist that he take over the company, something he had no desire to do. He left the mansion and headed to his friend's bar. Along the way, he couldn't stop looking around the streets they passed, hoping that somehow he might catch sight of her. "The person you're looking for isn't here," his friend, the owner of the bar, greeted him with a smile. His friend knew exactly why he had come. He approached him sadly and sat on a soft sofa, resting his feet on the seat across from him. "Have a drink with me." "Are you crazy? It's broad daylight outside and you want to drink?" "I want alcohol." "We're still closed." "Then open the place for me. I'll pay you triple for every hour I stay here." "Why don't you just drink poison so I can make a funeral donation to your family?" his friend said seriously. He shot him a sharp look. "I'm serious." "Do you think I'm joking? I'm serious too." They stared at each other for a moment. "Tss. No one can help me. What did I even do on Earth? Why do I feel useless? Why do I feel like I'm alone? Tell me!" "You're being dramatic, dude. You're going crazy because of that woman. How amazing was she for you to act like this? Was she really that irresistible and sweet?" He glared at him. "Fvck you!" he said through gritted teeth. "If I were you, I'd just do what your dad wants. If you've really been struck by Cupid's arrow, you'll do anything for her. You'll agree to your dad's deal. But if it's only lust, stop thinking about her and find yourself a new sex partner." He froze. His friend had a point. What was really at the heart of all this? Was he already in love with the woman, or did he simply want to share a bed with her again? "See? You don't even know what that woman really is to you." "I need liquor," he said. "Tss. I'll give you one bottle, and that's enough." His friend turned away to get a bottle of liquor from the shelf. "Thank you, Dude." He closed his eyes briefly. His mind, however, was occupied with what his friend had said. The words hadn't been clear, but they gave him an idea of what he truly felt for the woman. "I'm going home." He pulled out some money and placed it on the table. "Keep the change." He stood up and got into his car, heading toward their mansion. Several minutes were wasted in traffic, so it was already six o'clock in the evening when he arrived. His father was just getting home as well. His mother was shocked to see him again. She had thought he was already at his condo and wouldn't be coming back. After all, he rarely visited the mansion usually only once a week. Sometimes months would pass before he returned. But today, he had come home twice in a single day. "What got into you? Why did you come back?" his mother asked in surprise. "Don't you want to see me here, Mommy?" he teased. "Of course not. I'm happy you're here. You're the one who doesn't like being here." "I'll wait for Dad." He was about to head to his room when he heard his father's voice calling for his favorite dog. "He's here," his mother said with a smile before walking over to greet him. He followed her because he wanted to speak with his father. As soon as his father entered the living room, he approached him. "How are you, Dad?" He respectfully took his father's hand and touched it to his forehead before sitting beside him. His father looked at him with obvious surprise. "Are you sick, Abraham?" his father asked suspiciously. He laughed lightly. It wasn't concern he heard in his father's voice but mockery. Well, he knew very well that he wasn't exactly a sweet and loving son. He was the black sheep of the family, always doing whatever he wanted and causing them disappointment. "Maybe." He shrugged. "Seriously, what do you want?" his father asked. "Okay, I need your help. And after you help me, I'll do what you want." He looked directly at him. His mother and father exchanged glances from where they sat together on the sofa. Smiles appeared on their faces. "What help? Name it." "I want you to find a woman for me." "That's easy. I'll call my best secret agent right now." He immediately dialed a number and made the call. His mother smiled as she listened to the conversation. He waited until his father finished speaking on the phone. When his father turned back to him, he was still smiling. "The best secret agent will report to your condo tomorrow," his father said. "Thanks, Dad!" He stood up to leave. "Don't forget your promise. On Tuesday, I'll introduce you as the company's President, so be ready," his father called after him. His right hand remained tucked inside his pocket while he raised his left hand to signal that he understood and agreed, even though it was against his will. "When our paths cross again, Miss Yummy, I'll make sure you'll belong to me alone," he whispered as he got into his car. He had already set aside his pride. He had swallowed his stubbornness and gone to his family for help just to find the woman who had completely captivated him in a single night. Deep inside, he knew it wasn't merely physical desire it was the call of his heart.Hello! Abraham's hands trembled slightly as he carefully balanced the breakfast tray. Not because of its weight, but because of the overwhelming emotions pressing against his chest a kind of happiness he had denied himself for far too long. For the first time after years of sorrow, he felt whole again.Cassandra had given him another chance. She had welcomed him back into the home that his own mistakes had once shattered. And most of all, he had once again been blessed with the priceless gift of having a family waiting for him at the end of the day.His gaze lingered on the closed bedroom door, and a quiet sigh of gratitude escaped his lips. How many sleepless nights had he spent wondering if the morning would ever come when he would wake up beside the two people he loved most?Cassandra. And their son, Isaac. How many nights had he cried himself to sleep, consumed by regret and crushed beneath the weight of longing with no certainty of ever being forgiven?Yet here he was. This was real.Th
“Mommy, do you love Daddy?” asked their son, Isaac Mathew, as they lay together in bed. He had just finished eating lunch and needed to take his afternoon nap. Cassandra didn't have work today, so she was resting beside her son.She stroked her son's hair and smiled. “Why did you ask, baby?”“Daddy told me you were angry with him.”Cassandra froze for a moment at her son's words. She assumed Abraham must have coached him, which was why he suddenly brought this up.“No, baby, I'm not mad at your Daddy.”Her son turned over on his side. “You're a liar, Mommy,” he said.Cassandra took a deep breath. “Don't believe your Daddy; I'm not mad at him.”“If you're not mad at him, why isn't Daddy sleeping with us?”Cassandra didn't know how to explain the truth to her son. At his young age, he wouldn't fully understand what was happening between her and Abraham.“Baby, go to sleep, because tonight Daddy will be sleeping right beside you.”Isaac suddenly turned his body back to face Cassandra. He
“Is it true that they’re happy together?”Joanna’s voice was cold as she sat in an expensive armchair inside her mansion. But beneath her calm exterior burned a rage she had carried for far too long. The man sitting across from her nodded.“Why? Is there something wrong with that?” he asked, leaning back in his chair. “Dr. Abraham Chen deserves to be happy.”Joanna’s expression darkened instantly.“No!” she snapped. “I won’t allow him to be happy. He doesn’t deserve happiness!”Her entire body trembled. Her eyes reddened with the fury and pain that had once again engulfed her heart.“I’ll do everything… everything to ruin his life.”The man shook his head and let out a quiet laugh.“You’re insane.”He slowly swirled the wine in his glass before taking a sip.“Why not just let go? Be happy for them and forget the past.”Something inside Joanna snapped. She immediately hurled her wineglass onto the marble floor. Shards of glass scattered across the room.“No way!” she screamed.“Relax,
Cassandra looked up, reading the name of the club where she had just stepped out over and over again. She still couldn’t believe she had managed to land a gig here. She had assumed it was just some cheap, low-end bar looking for a singer. No wonder she had been so surprised by the unusually high talent fee they paid her for tonight—it turned out to be a high-end disco bar.She walked over to the security guard and introduced herself as the bar's featured singer. The guard let her in right away and led her to the dressing room, where she would meet the band she was going to duet with and practice their setlist."Good thing you made it, Ms. Cassandra. We couldn't reach our vocalist," said the male guitarist, Ted.She offered a polite smile. "They're paying me too well to just not show up," she replied."I see... so let's go! Let's practice the songs we'll be performing later."She nodded and followed them. Their repertoire consisted entirely of new hits, and on top of that, they had to
She slowly began to get out of bed. Abraham had his arms wrapped tightly around her, making it difficult for her to free herself. They had made love several times, to the point that his friends outside had nearly started banging on the door. Abraham had refused to leave the room because he was afraid she would escape. She had even held her breath for a few moments just to keep from waking him.If he woke up, he would surely follow her to where she was staying, and she couldn't let him see their son, Isaac Mathew. She would never allow him to take her child away from her.Once she finally managed to get out of bed, she carefully picked up her clothes and placed them inside her bag. She only put on a robe to cover her naked body. She had brought a change of clothes with her because she had already prepared for this. She quietly slipped out of Abraham's room and hurried downstairs to the first floor. She spotted one of the household helpers and approached her.“Manang, may I take a showe
Cassandra wiped her tears away as she gazed at her son lying on the bed. Her son had dengue fever, so they were hospitalized today. Abraham left four years ago. Since then, there has been no more contact with Abraham. Because she knew she could be traced, she was unable to work with regular companies. She just endured setting up a small store and doing various odd jobs so that the two of them survive.“Cassandra.”She turned to look at Jena, who had become her friend in this place. Jena was Luz’s sister, and she was the one who helped her ever since she left Abraham. She knew very well that Abraham would look for her, so she intentionally avoided going home to her parents.“Jena, my son,” she said tearfully.Jena hugged her to comfort her. “Everything will be okay.”“I have a huge hospital bill to pay. Isaac Mathew has already received a blood transfusion.”Sadness was evident on Jena’s face, but she didn’t let her friend see it. “We’ll find a way; I’ll look for a new side hustle.”Ca
