S2-Chapter 119

Author: Maria Anita
Samantha’s POV

"Auntie Sam?" I heard Enzo calling me from inside the house.

"Here on the porch, Enzo," I replied, lacking the energy to get up and go to him.

He appeared and saw me lying on the chaise lounge, looking at me with a suspicious expression.

"Are you okay, auntie?"

"Yes, sweetie, I'm just feeling a bit down today."

"Hmm. Do you need anything?" He was so helpful, I thought for a moment and smiled.

"A piece of that chocolate cake from the kitchen with lots of frosting!" I smiled at him, and he returned a big grin.

"I think I'll bring two pieces." He winked at me.

"Then call Clara and bring three."

The three of us sat there, and I devoured my piece of cake and even stole a few forkfuls from Enzo.

"Want more, auntie?" He laughed, extending the plate to me.

"Better not."

"Chocolate cake before lunch?" Henry arrived with a beautiful smile.

"A small sin, my handsome," I smiled at him. "Would you like some?"

"No, Nightingale, thank you." He kissed my cheek as he sat beside me. "So w

Manuela’s POV"Do you really have to go?" I asked my brother who had just put his suitcase in the car."We do, Manu, but we'll come visit you more often." My brother hugged me very tight."Tell Dad I'm fine, so he won't worry." I said goodbye to my brother and sister-in-law and watched their car drive away."Little one, I'm worried. That woman won't give up. She can't get into the building, but there's no way to keep her out of college," Flavian said with his arm around my waist. He had been repeating the same thing since Saturday, and I knew he was right, but I did not see how to avoid it."I know she won't give up, but I don't know what to do," I said as we walked to the car. We were back to the routine of him driving me everywhere."You should file a complaint against her and Julian," Flavian was insisting that I should go to the police station and report the assaults."Flavian, she's my mother. It's not even about Julian - he's my brother, though we'll never be like real siblings.

Rita’s POVAfter I got rid of Julian, I looked at the man who wanted to talk to me. He was very handsome, and it was obvious he was wealthy, which surprised me since Manuela's boyfriend said he was just a detective. I followed him to the hotel bar, and we sat at a table in the back."So, Mr. Cesar, what do you want?" I asked straightforwardly. If he thought he could intimidate me, he was very wrong."Uh..." He looked at me, and then I realized I hadn't told him my name."My name is Rita," I said and waited for what he had to say."Rita, I have plans for my son, and I believe you also have plans for your daughter. That's why I need to take my son home, but while he's dating your daughter, he won't go. I believe together we can resolve this," he explained, and I understood - he did not want his son with Manuela, just as I was not happy with this relationship."This relationship is causing me many problems too," I lamented. "Do you think together we can make these two drift apart?""I thi

Flavian’s POVAs soon as Manu fell asleep, I went back to the living room. I had a pending conversation with Manu's brother."Look, I've seen a lot of bad things, but what this woman does to Manu is too much even for me," I commented as I sat down."It used to be worse. Manu would get horrible beatings for anything. One day Rita beat her with a belt, leaving Manu's body covered in buckle marks, all because she ran into the house and knocked over some ornament that broke. Manu was only ten years old. Rita always threatened that if she told our father about the beatings, she would get beaten more. I had already moved out by then, only found out because I got suspicious when Manu was wearing warm clothes in summer, and I asked her to tell me. Man, I almost hit Rita, but my father arrived, and we fought. Manu begged me not to tell him." Cam's eyes welled up with tears."And that wasn't the first time, wasn't the last, and wasn't even the worst," Olivia added. "I'm amazed that Manu doesn't

Cam’s POV"Cam, Cam..." Olivia hadn't even entered the house and was already calling me as if the world was ending."In the kitchen, Olivia!" I replied and continued making my sandwich."Cam, put that down, we have a problem," Olivia said when she reached the kitchen."No way, I'm not putting it down, I'm hungry!" I finished making the sandwich and took a bite. It was so good! "Hmm, that new mustard you bought is amazing.""Cam, forget the mustard. Your dear stepmother traveled with your jerk of a half-brother," Olivia seemed distressed about this, and I even laughed."So what, Olivia? The further away those two are, the better for me." I took another bite of my sandwich."Thing is, honey, they went to Paradise Port. What do you think they're doing there?" Now I understood Olivia's nervousness."Damn! I'll warn Manu." I left the sandwich on the plate and grabbed my phone right as it rang. "Flavian? What a coincidence, I was about to call Manu." While I answered, OOliviaia stole my sand

Flavian’s POVI was in the middle of handling a case at the police station when I received a message from Manu saying my father was at the apartment. My father alone with her wasn't something I wanted; he could be very cruel when he wanted to. But I had to finish processing that case before leaving, and it took longer than I would have liked. As soon as it was done, I called the duty clerk and asked him to cover for me, explaining I needed to leave due to a personal emergency but would return as soon as possible. It would just take enough time to get my father out and make sure Manu was okay. However, when I got home, the scene I witnessed wasn't what I expected. A young man was on top of Manuela, pulling her hair. But who was this delinquent? I wanted to punch that punk's face until it turned inside out. How dare he laid his hands on Manu? When I saw the woman approach to defend her son, I understood the situation. I immediately recognized Rita, Manu's mother - it had only been a week

Cesar’s POVI went to see Sabrina in London so she could finally fulfill her part of our agreement. I really thought she could help me, but she was so incompetent that she couldn't do the one thing I asked her to do: win Flavian back and bring him home. I was starting to think she only managed to marry him because, at the time, his mother and I still had some influence over that boy. But now, he couldn’t even stand Sabrina. To make things even more difficult, that idiot did a lousy job when I told her to handle the divorce issue, and Flavian quickly discovered the signatures weren't his. She hadn't even made up a story to justify the signatures - she could have gotten him drunk and then said he signed them. It was simple, but she couldn't even do that.On top of everything else, my son hired none other than that creep Dr. Castle to be his lawyer. That attorney was a thorn in my side, and Flavian knew it very well - he was the only one I couldn't bribe to do things my way.But since not

Manuela’s POVI had barely closed the door, hadn't even recovered from Flavian's father's visit, when the doorbell rang again. What else did that man want? I took a deep breath and opened the door. I felt as if all the blood had drained from my body. There, standing in front of me with a cold smile that seemed almost cruel, was my mother, and right behind her was Julian."Mom?!" My legs trembled, and I thought I would collapse on the floor."Did you miss me, Manuela? Did you think I would forget about you?" She laughed, but it was a humorless laugh. "A mother never forgets her child, especially one as rebellious as you!""Mom, of course I missed you!" I tried to hug her, but she dodged away, which made my heart ache."Won't you invite me in, ungrateful daughter?" My mother spoke in a cold, cutting voice. I merely gestured, and she entered, followed by my brother who rubbed his hand over my head, messing up my hair and pulled my ear hard. This had been Julian's habit since he grew talle

  • Irresistible Boss: Succumbing to Your Touch   S3-Chapter 86

Manuela’s POVIt seemed things were finally calming down. I got home yesterday after college and Flavian was waiting for me, divorce papers in hand - he was finally divorced. Sabrina was in the past, nothing more than a bad memory now.But he had to work a shift on Saturday, and I would spend the day alone. I planned to use the time to prepare for the upcoming exam week at college. It was mid-afternoon when the doorman called to tell me I had a visitor, someone unexpected whom I wasn't sure I wanted to see, but couldn't refuse. I authorized their entry, quickly changed clothes to look somewhat presentable for my visitor, and sent Flavian a message about the visit. When I opened the door, I found myself facing a man as tall as Flavian who, despite his gray hair, shared many similarities with my boyfriend. Mr. Cesar Moreno was an imposing man, the type who exuded power, wealth, and confidence. Upon seeing me, he offered a polite smile and even appeared friendly. He came in and seemed to

Flavian’s POVFinally, the divorce hearing had arrived. It seemed like an eternity had passed until this day. I was anxious, nervous, and worried when I arrived at the courthouse. It was almost time for the hearing, and Sabrina still hadn't shown up. The last thing I needed was for this woman to disappear on the day of the hearing."Dr. Castle, if Sabrina doesn't show up, do you think the judge might want to reschedule?" I asked my lawyer, feeling my concern growing."It depends. But don't worry, I have good arguments for him to decide today. I even spoke with him yesterday," Dr. Castle was very calm; his voice never wavered, and he seemed unshakeable. We were called into the courtroom, and still no sign of Sabrina, but just as my lawyer was about to start arguing with the judge to make a decision, Sabrina burst into the room accompanied by a lawyer."This is a waste of time, Flavian," Sabrina complained right away."Counsel, please inform your client this isn't a marketplace," the jud
