Patrick’s POV

After the meeting at Flavian's house, I went home. I was tired, but also anxious and couldn't sleep. I kept pacing around the house, tried to watch something on TV, but nothing held my attention. I went to bed, but her scent on the pillow made me even more anxious, and I only found a bit of peace in her closet, with the photo album open to the picture we took the day I gave it to her. She was smiling and the way she looked at me made it clear that she loved me, and it was the certainty of that love that calmed and comforted me.

In the morning, I left home determined. I would get on my knees, beg, ask for forgiveness a million times, but I wouldn't lose her, not like this, not at all!
