Patrick’s POV

The night Lexie gave me was surreal! She was perfect, so beautiful, an angel I dared to desire. While she danced on that pole, going up and down, my heart was being condemned. What was that woman doing to me? She didn't give me a choice; I had nowhere to run and suddenly my chest became too small for everything I was feeling. And what was I feeling? This wasn't infatuation. It was so different. It was something I hadn't felt before. It was something else, something that scared me.

She slept peacefully on my chest and I couldn't close my eyes, my thoughts were racing through my mind. As soon as the day began to brighten, I got up carefully, got dressed and left the apartment. I needed to think, but the more I thought, the more desperate I became.
