“You had no right to kiss me,” he said coldly.

“I only wanted to prove to her that we’re really in love.”

“Are we?” he asked sharply.

I fell silent. Why was he even overreacting? It was just a kiss.

“I warned you before, Alexa,” he added. “Don’t start building false hopes that we’ll fall in love. That will never happen. Think straight—and never kiss me without my permission.”

With that, he walked away.

“What an asshole!” I muttered, shaking my head. Why did I even kiss him?
