THIRD PERSON’S POV

He was tied up and dropped in a small wooden box, twice his age. Alaric was crying, yelling and pleading for mercy. The box opened, and a strong arm reached in. He tapped his mouth before grabbing his neck.

“Die!!!” The voice yelled, and he gasped to reality with a scream. His heart was pounding so fast.

His eyes darted round the familiar room, and it dawned on him that he wasn't seven anymore. He was 30 now.

He was breathing so heavily while holding onto a small palm that he looked beside him only to see her resting her head on the edge of his bed. A slightly wet towel was now on his lap.

His head was starting to ache, and he knew the best way to cure it with alcohol, just like always. This was a nightmare he thought he had overcome. Slowly, he carried her and put her on the bed; after covering her small frame with the duvet, he headed downstairs. She was still putting on the outfit from yesterday. Dragging in the air with every step he took.

ALARIC’S POV“Where are you going?” She asked for the tenth time as she readjusted in her seat.“You will know when we get there,” I responded, my fingers tight against the steering wheel while my heart thumped hard against my rib cage. My body shook from the anticipation. The thought of seeing her reaction later today made my toes curl. Watching her eyes light up was the sexiest thing ever. Seeing her in her purest form, white as snow, dazzling like a diamond. Isabella was the best human I had ever met. She held no grudges. Had no hatred for anyone and did everything with all her heart. I tilted my head briefly to steal a glance at my woman. The voice in my head reminded me that it was time to propose. This time, I wasn’t letting her out of my sight. Finally, we arrived at the white hall, and I parked the car safely before stepping out of the vehicle. She was out before I could help her with the door. “I can’t wait to see whatever it is. Should I guess?” Her voice held an ocean o

THIRD PERSON’S POVValeria had spent the rest of her day in bed, staring at her account balance of seven million dollars, and her heart started to race so fast that it almost broke her ribs in an attempt to get out of her chest. She had bought clothes, expensive ones, bags, and shoes since she left the Wolfe Mansion without anything. It was a must that she find a man tonight, even if she had to make the first move. Not classy. The voice in her head reminded her.But she didn't care about appearing classy now; what mattered was to survive. She put on a black armless gown that stopped halfway before her knees. There were two big circles on each side, exposing her skin. She strapped a heel on before getting into her Leopard fur jacket. In minutes, she was heading out of the hotel and into the Uber she had booked, her bag and phone in hand.“I see you are going out.” The male voice from earlier today said suddenly, and her heart jumped in fear. She turned to look his way, then released

THIRD PERSON’S POVA knock resounded on the door, causing Valeria to pull her eyes open weakly, every bone in her aching. This pregnancy was taking a huge toll on her, and every day she grew more hatred for this child she was yet to meet. This had ruined her life. It was the baby’s fault that no man had looked her way ever since she had been going to clubs and dressing as sexy as she could. But no, this baby bump ruined every masterpiece she wore. The knock came again, and she groaned as she dragged herself out of bed, her breath reeking of alcohol, with her head thudding so hard.“Yeah.” She sounded disgusted as she pulled the door open to stare at the female dressed in a white shirt and black skirt. Her curly purple hair was packed in a neat ponytail.“Sorry if I woke you, ma’am, but you need to renew your payment,” Sadie informed, squeezing a smile just as required.Valeria squinted her eyes. “Payment? I paid for a week.” She reminded. That had cost her five million dollars. A nigh

ISABELLA’S POVMy fingers remained in his as our legs made their way into the building. The man standing near the door, dressed in his work uniform, muttered a greeting our way, and I sent him a smile in acknowledgement.“The party is happening on the second floor.” My Man informed and led me into the elevator, and my insides raged with anticipation as we waited. Then finally, a ding and the metal door parted to reveal the staff lined up on both sides. Some held onto strings attached to floating balloons. Some were carrying flowers and cakes. And then Rya. She twisted the pointy thing she had in her palms, and I heard a click before shiny sparkling stars shot into the air, landing on me.My lips parted in a smile so hard that my cheeks hurt.“We will miss you, baby girl.” Rya let out and proceeded to hand me a small wrapped box. I leaned in to hug her, my eyes stinging a bit, but I held back my tears. The door to the room that had the food and the drinks was opened. As I made my way

ISABELLA’S POV“Are you sure you want that one?” Alaric questioned, his eyes moving over my knee-length, navy dress. Lace graced its short sleeves. I nodded, but my eyes remained glued to my reflection in the huge mirror. We were in La Gracia, one of the biggest malls in Alabama. They were known for beautiful pieces and quality materials. It could tell that he wanted to say something, probably judge my weird taste. I would too if I were him because I was standing in the middle of a place where I could get any dress of my choice, and I chose this.“I need to be able to breathe. Besides it is just a small gathering, right?” I pushed forth, and he nodded.“Here it is, Ma.” The female attendant informed, stretching the black and white bag that now held my old dress. “Thank you.” I took it from her and turned to him, only to see that he was already standing.“Give me some minutes. Get a new heel and bag while you wait.” With this, he disappeared around the corner.I heaved a sigh and re

ISABELLA’S POVA week had passed, we had returned to the company now that everything was back to normal. I was sitting inside my office, staring at the comment under the newest company’s post, announcing their return. A smile curled my lips. I was glad to see everything going well. I was done with my part of the contract and ready to return back to DexluArt. Although a part of me was filled with sadness of leaving but it was fine given that I would get to see him now that we stayed together. The door to my office opened and my newest friend, Rya made her way forward.“Girl, it’s sad that you have to go.” She sighed, running her fingers on the box that now held all that had once lain out on my table.I flashed her a smile.“I can always come to visit.” I replied and she nodded, but that didn’t seem to brighten her mood.“You know I have been wondering what you see in our Boss. He is so…” She paused, her eyes meeting mine. “Different.” She completed, and I held back a laugh.I could te
