Luciana froze momentarily as Henry's inquiry resonated in her ears. Her heart began racing rapidly as her eyes darted between his annoyed orbs. She noted his hardened expression. She could tell he was upset but judging by the way he looked at her optimistically, Luciana could guess he didn't know the full truth. Perhaps, he just had his suspicions and wanted her to clarify his thoughts. Yes, that may be it. Luciana thought to herself inwardly. Swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat as she met his glaring gaze, she heaved out wearily as she recoiled from him but Henry's grip around her waist tightened possessively, causing her to halt. Luciana's face contorted with a frown as the tension between them escalated. She thought of ways to get past this and when she finally found a solution, she began softly, her tone laced with feigned confusion. "What?" She stuttered, her eyes flickering between his. "I don't understand you, baby. I shouldn't lie to you? I shouldn't lie to you about what?" She questioned. Henry's jaws clenched as he reciprocated her gaze. "I asked you a question, Luciana. Where were you today? Who did you visit?" Luciana's frown deepened as she responded with annoyance. "I told you... I have a bedridden friend at the hospital..." "Which hospital?" He cut her off tersely. Luciana was stunned and she struggled to utter another word for a moment. Finally regaining her composure, she shot back. "Where the hell is this coming from? Why are you asking me these questions? Don't you trust me or what?" "Tell me, Luciana, don't try to twist this. I want to know which hospital you were at today, is that too hard for you to tell?" He corked his thick brow at her. Luciana licked her lips as she regarded him with frustration. "Yes," she hissed irritably. "With the way you're talking to me like that, it's as if you're interrogating me. I feel like a suspect right now... The fuck," she added, her tone filled with disappointment as she averted her eyes from his. Henry looked at her hesitantly, his expression still filled with fury. "Are you lying to me, Luciana?" He asked abruptly, causing Luciana to dart her gaze at him again. "What?" She muttered. "Are you lying to me, Luciana? Is there something you're not telling me?" Henry asked again, his gaze fixated on her intently. Luciana swallowed nervously as she contemplated her thoughts. Though her exterior remained confident and unwavering, deep down, her heart pounded in her chest heavily. She couldn't fathom the reasons behind Henry's sudden interrogation. She hadn't realized how much he was suspecting her until now. It seemed he already knew something was amiss but he wasn't certain what was. Upon this realization, Luciana thought to use this moment to her advantage. She could simply just manipulate him into believing he wasn't thinking straight and he was wrong about his suspicions regarding her. However, it still plagued to know that Henry was beginning to lose trust in her. That wasn't what she needed at the moment. If she were to help Jordan sabotage the upcoming election, she needed Henry wrapped around her finger. Luciana knew she wouldn't be able to achieve that if Henry truly suspected she had something up her sleeves. Snapping back to reality, Luciana's expression softened as she made to reply to him. She stared at him with manipulative eyes as she began. "Baby..." Henry looked between her eyes searchingly. "Do you trust me?" Luciana asked as they locked eyes. Henry regarded her skeptically. "Right now, I'm not sure about the answer to that." He replied. Luciana's heart pricked her painfully but she maintained he composure. She offered a polite smile as she continued. "Why's that?" Without hesitation, he answered. "I feel like you're lying to me. I feel like you're keeping things from me, Luciana." "What could that be, If I may ask?" "That's the problem, if I knew, I wouldn't be here asking you right now, would I?" He retorted. Unknowingly, he had just affirmed Luciana's initial assumptions about him not knowing anything. He was merely suspicious of her, but he didn't really have evidence to prove his suspicion. Luciana's insides coursed with relief, prompting her to exhale exasperatedly. She chuckled softly before adding as she reached for Henry's face. "Baby, you can trust me, I promise. Nothing's changed. I'm telling you the truth." She stated. "Are you sure about that, Luciana?" Henry asked. "You know I have a thing for liars." She nodded. "I know and I'm reassuring you that you can trust me. I'm still your woman and forever will be," she winked at him as she grazed his face with her thumb softly. Her eyes bore into his seductively as she reached her second hand for his sturdy chest. "Then how come you're refusing to accept my proposal to make the world know that you're truly mine?" Henry asked skeptically as he regarded her. Luciana sighed softly. "Baby, I told you, I can't do that. At least not now..." "Then when exactly, Luciana?" He asked sharply. "Are you still in love with him?" Though her heart thumped nervously, Luciana's brows furrowed with confusion. "Who are you talking about?" "Are you still in love with my brother? Jordan." He asked, his gaze holding hers. Luciana's expression was unwavering as she shook her head. "No. No, I'm not. You're the only man I have eyes for at the moment." Her words caused a reaction from him and he managed a smile for the first time. "Are you sure? Is this your way of confessing your feelings for me?" He asked huskily, his hand reaching for her hair. Seeing the effects her words had on him, Luciana thought to play along. She shrugged and replied. "Um, maybe. What if?" "Hmmm," Henry raised his brows enthusiastically, his smile broadening to a boyish grin. He cupped her cheeks and stared at her lovingly before confessing the words. "I love you, Luciana. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Luciana smiled coyly, her insides fluttering with delight at his confession. "I love you too, Mr. Salvador." She replied and just like that, she had succeeded in keeping him. Henry reached for her lips, claiming them with his. Shutting their eyes, their tongues teased one another as they deepened the passionate kiss. Henry's hand roamed her naked body, gliding downward to cup Luciana's lush ass. She gasped out as he grabbed her roughly. "I'm going to fuck you really hard tonight. That's what you get for causing me to panic over nothing." He whispered in her ears huskily as his hand reached between her thighs. "I can't wait." Luciana moaned breathlessly as Henry trailed kisses down her neck. In one swift movement, he lifted her by her ass before pushing her to the wall gently. There, he fell to his knees before her, throwing one of her legs on his shoulder as he prepared to eat her out."We're ready, Lex... Are you?" Elena's voice resonated through Alexa's room door, reaching Alexa, who was still lying on the bed tiredly.Alexa exhaled exasperatedly as she fluttered her eyes open. She stretched her tired limbs on the bed before glancing at the clock on the bedstand to see it was already past 8 AM. She instantly bolted to her feet, shocked to see she was waking up so late. How had this happened? She questioned inwardly as she hauled herself out of bed."Just a second, I'm coming." She shot back at Elena even though she couldn't see her. "Okay," Elena's voice came through, followed by the faint sound of footsteps walking down the hallway.Alexa exhaled heavily as she glanced around before she found the mirror. She stared at her reflection and saw she was a mess; her hair was disheveled and bags were beneath her eyes, making her look awkward. She scoffed Incredulously at herself as she observed her features. This is what happens when someone works overnight for an assh
"Oh my goodness, Elena, I can't believe you would do that to me," Alexa said in annoyance as she swiftly pulled by the road. Her laughter subsiding, Elena asked with confusion. "What are you doing?"Alexa grabbed onto the rearview mirror, directing it towards her face. "I'm trying to see for myself. I can't afford to humiliate myself in front of him..." She replied tersely as she observed her features in the mirror. She noticed the faint bags beneath her eyes and she cursed inwardly. "Well, it's really not that bad... I'll fix it when I get to the office." She heaved out a sigh as she repositioned the mirror before reclining back in her seat.Regaining her composure, she turned on the ignition and resumed driving again. "Hmm," Elena started, breaking the silence that had enveloped them."What?" Alexa asked, puzzled.Shrugging, she replied. "It's nothing... You just seem to be a little concerned about what Jordan has to say about your appearance."Alexa's brows scrunched up at her wor
"It's just a meeting, Alexa. It's not even the first time; you've got this." These words repeated in Alexa's mind like a mantra as she remained seated in the car, mentally preparing herself for her upcoming session with Jordan. She had already arrived at the Police department parking lot a few minutes ago but she was reluctant to step out as her nerves kept unraveling with anxiety. And yes, she had already fixed the eye bags with make-up. She was simply struggling to maintain her composure each time she recalled Jordan had attempted to kiss her the other day. What if he tried to do that again? And what the heck was that emotion she felt when he had pulled her to himself for a kiss? Alexa pondered as she berated herself in the car. She was reluctant to admit it to herself but she was aware of how her body had reacted to that simple act from Jordan. How her insides had pulsated with desires for a minute before she quickly reprimanded herself. With each passing realization, Alexa's insi
"Sorry for yourself," She retorted, redirecting her gaze at the paperwork.Jordan felt his heart twinge with disappointment. He hated the emotional barricades Alexa had strongly built around herself. He realized the more he tried to make up for his mistakes by flirting with her and displaying some shows of concern, the harder it seemed for him to win her over. He couldn't fathom how she had turned out to be this cold-hearted and nonchalant woman."Have you spoken with an attorney yet?" Alexa's voice sliced through his thoughts, bringing him back to reality.Jordan licked his lips as he met her gaze. He shook his head slightly. "I will do that soon."Alexa's brows scrunched up with confusion. "I don't understand you... Isn't that what you were supposed to do since the moment you got arrested? How long has it been?"Running his fingers through his hair, Jordan exhaled exasperatedly, realizing she was right. "I honestly don't know but I'm working on it.""Are you sure you really want to
It had already been several hours since the conclusion of her session with Jordan, and currently, Alexa was in the kitchen with Elena as they prepared dinner together. Alexa was consumed by her thoughts as she paced about the kitchen, trying so hard to distract herself from the cooking duties. But no matter how hard she tried to push aside her thoughts for a moment, Jordan's pleas kept echoing in her mind like a mantra. She was sick of it but there was nothing much she could do about it. The image of him kneeling before her earlier replayed in her mind, causing her heart to churn with anguish. Shaking her head gently, Alexa tried to concentrate on the ingredients she was chopping. But the harder she tried, the more difficult it seemed for her to stop thinking about him. About his situation, and his pleas for a second chance. No doubt, Alexa had pondered over his words for the last hours. She had considered helping him but dismissed that thought as she knew Jordan didn't deserve her h
"I love you, mama." The toddler grinned as he wrapped his tiny arms around his mother's neck.LA smile crossed Luciana's face as she embraced her son in return. "Aw, baby, I love you too." They revealed in the embrace for a moment before pulling apart.Ruffling J.J.'s hair, Luciana advised. "Be a good boy at school today, okay? I'll come get you later."J.J. nodded in obedience before Luciana finally straightened her stance. She turned to face the woman who had been standing beside them. She was J.J.'s teacher. "Please, take care of him for me. If you need anything, just hit me up, Mrs Stone." Luciana implored.Mrs Stone nodded in affirmation as she reached for the toddler. Luciana bade him goodbye one last time before allowing the lady to take him away.Luciana stayed back, watching her son walk into the school. When they finally disappeared from sight, she drew a deep sigh and exhaled exasperatedly before eventually turning to her heel and returning to her car.Luciana gripped the
Rolling her eyes with annoyance, Luciana finally responded. "I just dropped my son off at school, and I'm about to return home." She lied.Henry replied. "Oh, alright then. Are you going somewhere else?""I just told you I'm returning home..." She bit out, annoyance swirling within her. "Oh, I'm sorry for asking again, baby, didn't catch you the first time..." He paused. "Well, I'm alone at the office. You could come visit me if you want."Despite the frustration bubbling within her, Luciana fought to maintain her composure. She replied politely. "Darling, you know that's a bad idea. I appreciate the invite but I'm sorry, I can't.""Grandfather isn't around if that's whom you're worried about." Henry tried to reassure but Luciana shook her head in refusal."He's not. I just can't... I'm sorry, but I hope you understand." There was a brief silence on the other end before his voice sailed into her ears again."Alright, then. I'd have loved to see you now, but since you can't make it t
Luciana momentarily stiffened as she encountered Catherine's annoyance. Catherine was glaring daggers her way, causing a lump to form in Luciana's throat as she realized she had been caught red-handed. Jordan had warned her against visiting or confronting Alexa again, she had even promised him she would stay away from now. Unfortunately, the otherwise seemed to be happening at the moment.Nonetheless, as Luciana battled with her inner thoughts, she couldn't also help but wonder what Catherine was doing here as well. It had come as a shock to her to see Catherine in Alexa's workplace. Luciana pondered the reason behind her visit."I'm talking to you!" Catherine snapped after a moment of silence between them.Luciana regained her composure before offering Catherine a polite smile. "Hello, Catherine, it's good to see you too." She smiled wearily as she regarded Catherine.Catherine scoffed Incredulously. "That wasn't what I asked you. And save your pathetic greetings, I don't need them.
An overwhelming silence passed the table as everyone absorbed the revelation in shock. Everyone was surprised except for Catherine, who looked nonchalant as she continued eating her meal. She was already aware of Ivy's plans before now. "What?" Torrey retorted, prompting Ivy to nod in affirmation as their eyes met. "Yes, Father,""What nonsense!" Igris snapped, rising to her feet and pointing a finger at Ivy, her eyes burning with fury. "How dare you accuse my son like this?""Accuse?" Ivy scoffed derisively, shaking her head. "I'm accusing no one. He knows I'm telling the truth.""You're lying," Igris cut her off in annoyance."Hey, everybody calm down!" Torrey barked an order.Igris glared at Ivy hardly before resuming her seat, her annoyance palpable. She shook her head, obviously fuming as she turned her gaze from Ivy to Torrey.Meanwhile, Henry remained quiet as he contemplated his thoughts."Henry, Son," Torrey started calmly as he turned his face to Henry, who reciprocated hi
"You can send whatever you've found out so far to my office tomorrow, Johnny, I'll be at the company." Ivy's voice trailed off as she spoke into the phone. She was interrupted as her room door pushed open. She turned to see it was her mother who had just stepped in.Still on the phone, she listened intently to what the receiver was saying before she replied once more. "I need it urgently. Gather everything you can get on her... It's Luciana. She's very sly but still dumb. This should be easy, now get the fuck out of my phone," she stated firmly before hanging up without waiting for the other person's response."Mom," Ivy heaved a sigh as she ran her hand through her hair, her mind spiralling with several thoughts. However, she dismissed them, choosing to focus on her mother who was staring at her with an inquisitive gaze."Who was that?" Catherine asked as she approached Ivy's side."Johnny, one of my aids. I just asked him to find out what he can on Luciana and Henry's relationship."
"... I want to know, Alexa, the reason behind your hesitation..." His words echoed in her ears, making her heartbeat quicken as she pondered her thoughts.Alexa didn't realize she had gone eerily silent until Tyler's voice called out to her again."Hey, are you there?" His words sailing into her ears, she swallowed, snapping back to reality. "Yeah, I am." "So... What's the reason?" He questioned once more.A surge of annoyance coursed through Alexa as she sensed Tyler was controlling over the issue. For crying out loud, he had already handed full authority to he before he went on his trip so why the hell was he questioning her procedures now? Alexa mused.Nonetheless, she reserved her thoughts as she focused more on uncovering which of Jordan's family had reached out to Tyler and how much they'd told him. Judging by his sedate reaction, they mustn't have revealed to him that Jordan was her ex, and that was the reason she was reluctant to set him free. Alexa heaved a sigh at the tho
Alexa was swiping through the pages of the documents on her desk that Saturday morning when Elena entered her room with a tray of food. Her concentration was disrupted as she lifted her gaze to match Elena's, who was now approaching her after she gently closed the door behind her.Alexa heaved out a sigh, taking a momentary break as she let go of the paperwork and leaned back in her swivel chair, her eyes fixated on Elena who was now placing the tray on the desk."Hey," Alexa called out softly, stealing a glance at the cup of coffee and treats Elena had brought for her.It was past 11 am and she was yet to have breakfast as she was so busy that morning. She had refused to join Elena and the kids for breakfast that morning, citing she would do so soon enough. But seeing Alexa wasn't keeping to her words, Elena had resolved to bring her the food instead."You need to eat," Elena stated tersely as she took a seat from across Alexa's.Alexa sighed, massaging her temples. "I know. I will.
After the conclusion of the meeting with Jordan, Ivy returned home that day. She had left behind a shocked Jordan. Although she wasn't certain of her accusations of Luciana, she was reluctant to give her the benefit of the doubt. During her years living with Jordan while he had been married to Luciana, she had to realize that Luciana was a cunning and manipulative woman, who could twist her way into and out of anything.Ivy had decided to look into the matter further. She would carry out a thorough investigation and find out what was really going on between Henry and Luciana. Jordan hadn't told her anything tangible regarding his relationship with Luciana or what mission he had sent her on that landed her in Henry's office. Ivy couldn't understand why he was withdrawing that information from her but one thing she knew for sure was that she was going to uncover Luciana's secrets. That bitch couldn't be trusted."You're back," Catherine's voice sailed into Ivy's ears as she stepped int
A wave of panic coursed through Luciana, prompting her to back away from Henry as her eyes locked with Ivy's shocked ones."What the fuck is going on here?" Ivy's instant demand caused her heart to race with trepidation as a gulp walked down her throat.Luciana's throat ran dry, her breath hitching as she tried to form a meaningful response. She stole a glance at Henry and noticed the shocked expression disappearing from his face and being replaced by a nonchalant one.Returning her gaze to Ivy, Luciana's heart hammered in her chest as she absorbed the glare Ivy directed at her."Hello, Ivy," Luciana spoke up after a moment, breaking the tension and trying her best to be as casual as possible. But Ivy wasn't buying any of that. Instead, she eyed Luciana suspiciously, her eyes roaming her body and registering the outfit she was putting on. Ivy shook her head in disapproval, a look of disgust marring her face as she redirected her gaze at Luciana. "I cannot believe this...""You cannot
Luciana arrived at the Salvador's company a few minutes past eleven that morning. She was clad in a black slit skirt that perfectly accentuated her curves, matching it with a light blue blouse. Her hair was styled in soft waves and it flowed down her shoulders as she walked elegantly towards the gigantic building. She felt nervous about being seen despite putting on shades that partly concealed her face. She clutched her purse against her hip as she headed towards the elevator. She felt a pang of anxiety gripped her. She hadn't informed Henry she was coming to see him. She couldn't help but wonder how he was going to react to her abrupt visit. Luciana already knew how this was going to end. The thought of it had her heart racing with excitement. The elevator finally dinged after a few seconds since she entered, announcing her arrival at the top floor. Upon stepping out, Luciana glanced around to ensure either her mother-in-law or Grandfather Torrey wasn't around her. She felt very anx
Luciana yawned as she fluttered her eyes open that morning. Realizing what had transpired between her and Henry the previous night, her mind was on alert, and she quickly darted her gaze to check if he was asleep by her side on the bed. To her greatest disappointment, she was met with the vacant side of the bed.Her heart pricked her painfully and she hissed with irritation. She glanced at the room to grab a trace of him but there was none. He was gone. It was as though he never came by the previous night. It was as though Henry never came over to her house and made love to her when she least expected it. Though Luciana was hurt, reminiscing about their love-making the previous night, her heart fluttered with delight. At least that was a start at getting Henry back. She knew he couldn't resist her, she'd just have to try harder to win his attention. With this resolve in mind, Luciana hauled herself out of bed, heading towards the bathroom first to get a quick shower before going over
Jordan was flabbergasted, his mind reeling with confusion as he blinked back to reality. "What the hell are you talking about? Luciana is having what?" He snapped, his shock palpable.Ivy sighed and chuckled, shaking her head as she replied. "Well, I said Luciana might be having an affair with Henry, our brother. Are you aware of that?""Might or is? Which exactly?" Jordan's brows scrunched up with bewilderment as he couldn't comprehend her words. He hated the fact that she was beating about the bush. His mind was already spiraling with conflicting thoughts, and he needed her confirmation of what she had just said.Ivy heaved a sigh, a weary smile etching her face as she leaned back on the chair. She hesitated, staring at Jordan like she was contemplating her thoughts.Jordan's impatience wore thin as he noticed Ivy's silence. "Just speak up already? What are you talking about? How did you find out about this? Is this even true?"Ivy finally responded after a moment. "Well, I'm hundre
