Ember's POV

Rowan's teeth sank into the soft flesh of my neck, and I gasped, the sting of his mark sending shockwaves through my body.

As he pulled back, I saw his eyesโ€”once warm, now filled with nothing but fury. His lips, still stained with the taste of my skin, curled into a snarl.

That rageโ€ฆ I could feel it deep in my bones. And beneath it, something darkerโ€”the cold, simmering desire for revenge.

I trembled beneath his gaze, my body betraying the fear I tried to swallow down. My voice came out small, almost breaking. โ€œWhy, Rowan? Why did you accept meโ€ฆ even after I left?โ€ My eyes were moist, my throat tight with guilt.

I had walked away from him and the Scar Moon pack seven years ago, thinking I could escape. But standing before him now, I could see just how foolish Iโ€™d been.
