Chapter 40

I swallowed deeply as the silence almost killed me. Clayton didn't talk for a minute. It was as if we were both drowning in silence until he wrapped his arms around my waist and he rested his face on my shoulder.

I froze with my lips parted. I couldn't move like I have been caged in an iceberg.

"It hurts, Snow," he whispered. "Every minute of the day you never failed to make me feel how you just married for my money and four families. It's hurting me, Snow. Knowing that I'm nothing to you but just a piece of ba ank that your parents need to survive... Then you cheated on me... Do you know how painful it is to try and still be not enough?"

I looked up, calming my burning eyes. "Clayton..." I held his arms, trying to loosen his hug but he just gripped his arms tighter on my body.

I sighed. "Clayton, I'm sorry... I'm really sorry but you know in the first place that... that's the only real reason. I did make it clear to you yet you still forced me to tie not with you."
