Chapter Twenty-nine

Victor’s POV

“Woman, don’t be foolish,” I said, approaching her with a fire of anger burning within me.

“I don’t know where you got the idea about my mother, but you can't trick me.” My rage was boiling; if she weren’t an elder, I would have grabbed her by the throat and knocked her teeth out.

“Next time you come here and say something like that, you’ll end up in jail,” I warned, signaling my bodyguard to throw her out as I walked out of the living room.

I could hear her voice echoing as she was taken away, and I could also hear my bodyguard hitting her to silence her, but she kept shouting, “I’m sorry I left you,” until her voice faded into silence.

She only fueled my anger and frustration. If she knew how furious I became at the mention of my mother’s name, she wouldn’t have dared to come and tell such a lie.
