“Mr. Lawrence Brooks, I'd like to know more about your business.” Grace asked, her eyes fixed on him as the maids began to clear up their table.

Mr. Lawrence cleared his throat, his eyes flickered with a hint of fear. “I have many companies, tech companies, oil and gas companies, beverages companies…and many more, but they are all based in neighboring countries. I'm a business man with diverse interests and I also prefer to maintain a low profile.” His voice was soft but filled with tension.

Mrs Olivia chimed in, trying to hide her husband's tension. “We prefer to focus on our businesses rather than seeking public attention or fame,” she said with a wide smile.

“I see…well…I’d love to know the names of your companies, maybe we could explore potential partnership,” Grace said, her gaze lingered on Mr. Lawrence, who felt a bead of sweat forming on his palms.

“Grace, we’ll talk about partnership or whatever later,” Victor interjected, saving Mr. Lawrence from further questioning.

It was the wedding day, Grace woke up sluggish and angry, still simmering from the previous night’s arguments with Victor over Jade’s revelation of Isabella being a waitress. Victor had vehemently denied it and since then Grace hadn't spoken to him until that morning. Victor, wanting to avoid anything that would make his family the headline of the news, decided to apologize before they left for the wedding venue. He approached her calmly, his expression cool. “Hurry up and kindly excuse us,” Victor said softly to the makeup artist, who had just finished adding the final touches to Grace's look and was packing up her kit. She hastened up and quickly left. “I’m sorry Grace,” Victor said, his gaze piercing hers. “I want you to understand that the girl Jade showed you is just Isabella’s lookalike, it's not Isabella. Isabella is a child born with a silver spoon; she would never work as a waitress,” he said.Grace ignored him, her focus was on her jewelry box, selecting the perfect jewe

In Anthony’s houseVictoria stood before the mirror, applying makeup as she prepared to go to a party with her friends. Anthony sat on the bed, shaking his head angrily as he watched her. Once she was done with the makeup, she grabbed her handbag, ready to leave. Anthony stood up and immediately grasped her wrist. “What is it?” Victoria said sharply, her eyes flashing with annoyance.“Are you really a mother?” Anthony said, his voice filled with pain and anger, his grip tightening around her wrist. Victoria hissed and snatched her wrist free from his grip. “Zoe is still very young; she will find someone else who will love her. I’m not going to allow her to marry Jack Mason.” Anthony's gaze pierced deeply into her eyes, his voice cracking with emotions. “But why? What's wrong with Jack?”“Nothing, I just don't like that boy.” Victoria replied sharply, her gaze drifting away from Anthony's. “Then why didn't you stop them earlier?” Anthony said, his anger boiling over. “You watched

Victor Mason's house was bustling with activities as staff members ran up and down, attending to their duties. In the kitchen, the chefs were busy preparing an array of delicacies. Grace and Jade stood nearby, their faces etched with unhappiness as they gently gave instructions to the maids. Grace had no choice than to obey her husband. Her heart felt a little lighter after Jack assured her that he would be fine in his future marriage. Isabella would be meeting the family that day; the wedding was just three days away. Initially Victor had wanted her to meet the family on the wedding day, but Grace had requested otherwise. Victor had instructed the whole house staff to prepare for her arrival, emphasizing that Isabella and her family were respected figures and should be treated with utmost honor. He had made sure to find people to pose as Isabella’s parents, sending them expensive attire to wear just as he had done for Isabella. Jack was also in his room, preparing for the arriva

As Isabella stepped out of the taxi, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of the restaurant Victor Mason had chosen for their meeting. The modest eatery seemed out of place given Victor's title and wealth, and this only fueled her growing fear. She took a deep breath, whispered a silent prayer and pushed open the door. The restaurant was eerily empty except for Victor and his bodyguard, who stood strongly beside him. As she approached Victor’s table, a security guard stepped in front of her. “Excuse me, ma’am, there is….” The security guard began to speak, his tone firm as he wanted to turn her away. But before he could finish, Victor’s prompt gesture silenced him and he immediately stepped aside for Isabella to pass. Isabella glanced around once more, taking in the deserted eatery. She leaned in closer to the security guard and whispered, “Why is it so empty?” her voice was barely audible. The security guard's expression was neutral and his tone firm. “Mr. Victor Mason booked th

In a modest, old sitting room with peeling walls, Isabella sat on the worn-out couch, her beauty a contrast with the place she lived. Her skin glowed with a radiant light, a trait that had attracted many suitors despite her family's financial struggles. With her eyes cast downward and a single tear rolling down her cheek, Isabella pleaded with her father, Mr. Lawson. “Daddy, please don't make me get married to a stranger,” she begged, her voice trembling.Mr. Lawson let out a deep sigh and stood up to sit beside his daughter. He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and started, “For your mother to live, we have to do this,” he said, his voice heavy with sadness. Isabella was the only daughter of her parents so she felt a deep sense of responsibility towards them. On the day she met Victor Mason, she was rushing to the hospital to check on her mother when Victor’s car almost hit her. After explaining her situation to Victor Mason, he offered to help with her mother's medical expense
