Chapter Twenty-Six

“They’re back at the farmhouse,” Edwin said to Tim as he handed him a glass of whiskey.  “I thought of calling her, but I’m not sure she’d know to answer it.  I put the ringer on mute before she left in case someone called while she was near the vampires.”

“I’m exhausted, but I guess we can head back to the farmhouse,” Tim said as he accepted the whiskey.

“I can drive,” Edwin offered.  When Tim just shook his head and chuckled, he added, “or you can take a short nap before we head out. I want to check out a few more things on the net anyway.”

“They should be okay there, right?” Tim said worriedly.

“I want to get to them just as bad as you do, but we should use our heads. You need a nap before you drive any distance again and I’d rather be as prepared as possible when I go to help them,” Edwin said with a firm and steady voice. &
