“Thank you for your help yesterday.”

An excited glint appeared in August eyes as Giovanni uttered those words to him. Excited, he quickly plopped into one of the couches in Giovanni’s office and crossed legs, ready to squeeze words out of him.

“You’re thanking me for my help yesterday?” August repeated. “And by help, you mean getting Tyler out of your way with Emily?”

“Yes,” Giovanni nodded. “It was necessary and proved useful.”

“Did something happen between you two yesterday?” August peered at him. “Something happened, didn’t it? Of course it did. There’s no way you’d be thanking me if there wasn’t an actual positive response.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Giovanni furrowed his brows. “We had dinner and yes, it went well. That is if that’s what you’re referring to.”

“That’s enough about me,” he adjusted his jacket and rose to his feet to join August on the couch, sitting opposite him. “What about you? Don’t you have a couple of things to tell me?”
