Chapter Twenty

Jasmine.

I had a hard time falling asleep after I disappeared from Alexander's apartment. I wondered how he would feel when he finally woke up and I wasn't there.

Would he call? Did he even have my number? I wasn't sure about that but I knew he could get it if he wanted.

"Why are you here at this odd hour?" Ruby had asked the moment she caught me sneaking into the house, "Like a one-night stand with no self respect," She added.

Dressed in the sexiest blue nightgown and drinking milk in my kitchen while almost giving me a heart attack, I was glad I hadn't woken her up.

"What are you doing here?" I screeched out the question, carefully evading her question and words, "You almost made me pee my pants."

Ruby did a little hmmm sound, her eyes moved up and down my body. Carefully assessing what was mine and what wasn't. I was dressed in a plain white t-shirt and shorts I stole from Alexander's closet.

"This is mine," I said while using my hands to awkwardly point to every point of my body.
