“They hid it from her and tried to strip it away entirely by lying to Bellamy’s parents about what the fuck a Delzet was for and asking them to find one,” Luca explained.

Leonidas, Q, and Macario growled with that knowledge. They were fond of Aunty, but they knew how reprehensible those actions were.

I was a very surprised that her parents had been able to keep it from those three. I had no idea what the hell story they concocted to explain why Kenzie could not access any magic whatsoever, but it had to have been convincing as hell. I would also be curious to figure out what story they sold to explain all of the specialized power dampeners.

“Why?” Macario demanded. His eyes flashed with his own magic as he stared at them.

“Because it was safer for her,” Aunty tried to reason once again. I shook my head, shocked that she still thought that.

“Where’s the amulet?” I asked them.

“No offense, Bellamy, but this has nothing to do with you. So back the fuck out of our business,”
