Chapter 22: Lily

As Hera runs out of Eventide, I couldn’t help but think of that kiss. How in the world had I ever thought of Aolis as a brother? The moment his lips had touched mine, the bond had flared, sending tingles throughout my body. It was as if they had been pent up and waiting to finally be able to show me what I’d been missing. My body had reacted to his touch, his mouth and I want more.

‘And now he smells like us.’ Hera says smugly as she runs.

‘Yeah. I’m not sure that is a good thing going back in to tell the woman he was about to marry that the wedding is off, smelling like us.’

‘He is ours! She should never have touched what was ours.’ Hera snarls in my head.

‘Okay. Okay. Calm down.’

As Hera runs, the familiar rhythm of her paws hitting the ground soothes me. I wish I could have stayed with Aolis. I want nothing more than to complete the bond, making him mine.
