Alice’s Point of view
Everyone rushes into my room as I wake up and I waste precious time reassuring them.
A lame excuse and 20 minutes later, I'm free. My father informs me that Elliot has been poisoned and that blood tests have been done on Derek and me but no trace of any poison. It seems that this time, only Elliot was targeted.
It's incomprehensible and right now, I don't care. I have only one mission: find a witch. In less than 24 hours.
"So easy." I say to Cassie with despair.
"Actually, yes. A witch is waiting for us at the cabin where we took Joey and Gwen years ago."
"This is not the time for humor Cassie."
"I'm dead serious. The Moon Goddess told me so."
I stop in the middle of the hallway and Melanie and Sam who were following me bump into me.
Alice’s Point of viewThey surround me, ready to jump on me."I've got something to treat Elliot."They immediately stop growling and exchange puzzled looks. One of them walks away to shift behind a tree."Alpha Alice! What are you doing?" Asks one of my guards through mind-link, panicking."It's all right. I'm here of my own free will to help them." "We're coming!" Says another."No, don't! They might take it as a declaration of war. They will feel less threatened if I go alone." "Why are you going to help them?" A third one asks suspiciously."For the sake of our pack. Don't worry, I'll be back soon."I hear them whimper in the distance, not reassured that I am on enemy ground. The man who shifted
Alice’s Point of view"But where did this old woman come from? You're not going to make me believe that it's a coincidence?" Says Simon, slumped in the chair next to Elliot's bed."No, it's not a coincidence since she 'saw' him with her gift.""And she didn't ask you for anything in return?""No, she said that I did something or that I will do something, it was not clear, and that it is enough payment. Honestly, I didn't understand everything and I don't care. All I know is that Elliot's condition has improved and that's all that matters.""Yes he's not having trouble breathing anymore, that's a good sign." Says Owen, silent until then. "Thank you, Alice."Elliot wriggled slightly. "Alice."The three of us stand up. "Elliot! I'm here! Elliot?"But his face remains impassive."I don't unders
Alice’s Point of view Finally alone, I turn to Elliot. His beautiful face is still relaxed as if he was sleeping. I trace the contours of his face with my fingertips, making sparks appear. The heart machine beeps a little faster. "I can't believe it. Are you going to chase me around or what?" It beeps a little faster. "I'm not talking to you, Elliot. I'm talking to this evil machine. When I got hit by the car, I kept hearing it the whole time I was in the hospital, it drove me insane." I swallow. "It's thanks to you that I woke up. I'm sorry I couldn't do the same for you in the library." A first tear escapes, then I start to cry uncontrollably. "Elliot, please. You have to wake up." I cry for several minutes. I cry of anger, pain, sadness, despair and fear. As if a barrier h
Alice’s Point of view"What? What is the point of giving two different poisons?"Owen clears his throat. "Maybe to make sure it doesn't miss?"I shake my head. "I think one deadly plant unknown to anyone is more than enough.""Someone must have thought otherwise." Says Simon.Suddenly Owen straightens up, eyebrows furrowed."What are you thinking Owen?""Maybe two different poisons are for two different people." He says, looking at me."You think the second one was for me?"He shrugs. "Someone tried to kill the three of you and it didn't work. I guess this is the second attempt.""Assuming that's true, how could Elliot have ingested the poison that was meant for Alice?" Melanie asks."I think I know." I say. "I thought it was his food that was poiso
Elliot’s Point of view"I'm going." Alice says as she stood up."Wait for me."I try to pull out all the tubes and wires but immediately three people tackle me to my bed."What do you think you're doing?" Alice asks in an icy tone."I'm coming with you."She huffs. "That's right." She turns to Owen and Simon. "Make sure he doesn't leave this bed."She storms out, without so much as a glance at me.I feel the familiar pain in my chest caused by her indifference."Hey, don't worry, she'll be fine." Simon tells me."No, it's not that. I can't believe that after everything that has happened to us, she still doesn't care."Owen tilts his head to the side. "On the contrary. Do you realize what she has done for you? She showed up alone at our border. It's
Alice’s Point of view"WHAT?" Shout my father and Alpha Mark.I hear voices but I don't listen. All I see is Elliot's beaming smile. He walks over without taking his eyes off me, takes my hand and crosses our fingers."I thought I'd never hear you say those words." He mind-links me.I smile softly. "I'm sorry I took so long." "Why now?"I look around us. "Everything is going to hell. If we're lucky we'll 'just' get banished, someone is trying to kill us and the rogues won't let us. And yet I've never been so serene in my life."He smiles fondly at me, his thumb drawing circles on my hand."I don't know what's going to happen but I don't care as long as we're together."Melanie's hand on my shoulder makes me jump."W
Sam’s Point of viewI slowly wake up in an unknown room. I try to get up but I grunt loudly as I feel every muscle in my body protest. What the hell?My head spins and I am forced to close my eyes to keep from vomiting. What happenned?I search my memory and vaguely remember that Alpha Mark pushed me away. Somebody yelled my name too. But that's all I remember.I imagine that we were banished and that Melanie and Alice carried me here. I try to call out to them but my throat is so dry that no sound comes out.I squeeze my eyelids shut and decide to get up.Big mistake.I am not even standing up when I collapse on the ground with a loud noise. Immediately, footsteps are heard on the other side of the door, accompanied by hurried whispers.Great. They heard me.
Alice’s Point of viewElliot strokes my cheek to wake me up."We've arrived."I stretch and look out the plane's window, watching the runway go by as fast as my life.Within hours, Elliot woke up from the coma, everyone found out about us, our families sort of rejected us, I accepted Elliot, and Prince Ben who was there to help us organize the hunt in town invited us to join him at his castle until things settled down. The servants unload our luggage and took us to our rooms on the second floor. I am a little disappointed to have an individual room and I can say without being mistaken that the others too.We do not say anything, too happy to have been welcomed with so much kindness.I expect that we eat with the King and the Queen but we are only all 7 at the table and because of the general good mood, nobody coul
