Chapter 19

KIRA & DIMITRI

Silence… shocked silence echoed in the room as Kira registered Dimitri’s words.

“Is it why you are befriending everyone from cooks to security? You want to cripple my home from the inside?” Dimitri asked as he snuggled Kira’s body against his. “What is your plan, Kira Whitaker Brown? What do you want from me?” and despite himself, Dimitri felt himself getting turned on. She was a sworn enemy to his clan, to his house, to his entire family since generations, and yet, Dimitri felt drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

“I –” Kira started to speak, but Dimitri, without even knowing what he was doing, he raised his hand and caressed her face.

His touch rose sparks in Kira’s body and she felt it arch towards him. As his gold eyes burned into her green, she saw Dimitri lean forward.

“We must talk first, isn’t it?” Kira spoke suddenly, placing her hand on his chest.
