Elvis POV
As she sat beside me, I couldn't help but give her a glance. She looked more beautiful than I can remember, in good shape and fairer, the emotions swirling inside me are unexplainable. I promised Harriet that I will marry her, but I can't seem to move on from her. Despite all my efforts, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I still want her. i missed her, her innocent looks, her gentleness. blocking her car from moving, manipulating her into my own vehicle, it all seemed so irrational. There's no tangible reason for doing that, except for the fact that I don't want her out of my sight again after so many years. I can't bear the thought of it. so i had to come up with the business deal she came back for, hopefully that will stall her. Then I noticed her gaze on my hands, specifically my ring finger. I followed her gaze, curious about what she was looking at, then it drew on me that she was looking for a ring. i watched as her eyes stayed on my finger, with a look of curiosity, she seemed to be wondering why I'm not putting on a ring, she thinks I'm married to Harriet??? The thought amused me. just as i was about to ask her what she was looking at, her phone suddenly rang, showing a reflection of the name Rolex?? As I listened to her conversation, my mind began to wander. Who was on the other end of the line? she isn't wearing a ring so she is not married. or was this person someone special in her life? A boyfriend, perhaps? The thought sent a pang of unease through me. But as I continued to listen, my attention was drawn to the tone of her voice. It was light, casual, and seemed to be reassuring the person on the other end that everything was fine. "No, I'm fine, it wasn't something serious," she said, her words dripping with a calmness that I couldn't quite match. My mood shifted, and I felt a surge of anger course through my veins. I squeezed the phone in my hand so tightly that my knuckles turned white. My driver, sensing the tension, glanced at me through the rearview mirror. "Sir, are you okay?" he asked, his voice cautious. I shot him a cold, angry glance. "Drive and mind your business," I snapped, my voice low and threatening. The driver's eyes darted back to the road, and he remained silent. I gazed at her, my expression rigid. "where are we going" she asked, her conversation with the mystery person obviously concluded. i didn't bother responding, the urge to punch the wall superseding all emotions, but i stayed calm, i can't give her the pressure of knowing she affected my mood. her question hung in the air, but I remained silent. she seemed to have noticed my shift in mood, but acted less concerned while focusing on the road. I shot her a stern look. before bringing out my phone to message my assistant 'find out who Rolex is’ and got a reply instantly ‘on it sir’ ***** As we arrived at my private villa, nestled in the outskirts of town, she followed me in, quietly . I gestured to a nearby servant, my voice weary. "I'm tired. The servant will show you to your room. You can freshen up, and we'll discuss business tonight." But my words seemed to spark a fire within her. Her eyes flashed with anger as she turned to face me. "Who do you think you are, Elvis?" she demanded, her voice rising. "What am I doing here? You think you can just dictate what I do because you have power? If it's business, let's get it over with. I can go back to my apartment after. I'm not freshening up here; this isn't my home." I didn't bother replying. I turned and left for my room, the sound of her curses fading into the distance as I walked away. on getting to my room a servant ran over. "sir she wants to leave, should we let her go". "what?" i asked, my voice low and even. "she thinks she can just leave?" i turned to face the servant, my eyes narrowing. "tell her she's not going anywhere and if she insists lock her up".(P.S. - Dear reader, don't skip this part, as it will help you gain a better understanding of the story.)…,...As soon as Elvis left, Harriet dismissed Jordan's offer to show her to her workstation, instead hurrying to the elevator. She pressed the button, her eyes fixed on the display as she waited for the doors to open. Her determination was clear: she was going to follow Elvis and find out where he was headed.HARRIET POV:::::::‘I've gone to great lengths to get Elvis's attention, yet it seems I'm still invisible. Yes, I did marry someone else, but any woman in my position would have done the same - he was young and had nothing to offer. Perhaps that's why he's reluctant to give us a chance. I divorced my husband for him, but he refuses to notice or even look my way. I assumed he divorced his ex-wife for me, to be with me, but his lack of interest since then suggests otherwise. The painful truth is, he might have used me to get rid of her. That's probably exactly what happened.’
Elvis PovI stood outside the bathroom door, my anger simmering. "Come out now," I demanded, banging on the door.As I waited for Tessa to emerge, my mind replayed the scene. Rolex ...Rolex ...Rolex Again and again, she'd locked herself away to talk to him. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks - did she run off after the divorce to be with him?.The emotions swirling inside me were overwhelming. Jealousy, anger, and hurt mixed together in a toxic cocktail. Just then, a message popped up from my assistant. "Sir, we couldn't get any information on him. Seems he's quite powerful." The words only added fuel to the fire. Who was this Rolex, and what hold did he have over Tessa? I was determined to find out. That explains why I couldn't find Tessa all these years. She is back on my turf, I definitely won't give her a chance to leave.I clenched my fist, feeling a surge of frustration. "Find out everything you can about Rolex," I instructed my assistant through a text messa
Tessa's POV Elvis's laughter slowly subsided, but he still has a smile on his face, " you are beautiful when you're grumpy," i ignored his words " How long have you been here?"I asked, sitting up with a stern look.Elvis's smile didn't waver, but his eyes sparkled with amusement at my attempt to change the subject. "Long enough," he replied, his voice low and teasing. He sat up on the floor, leaning against the bed frame, and gazed at me with an unapologetic grin. "I didn't mean to cuddle you for so long," he said, "but you looked so peaceful, I didn't want to disturb you.""I didn't ask you that", I cut him off rudely, but he didn't seem to mind. Looking towards the bedside table, I sighted a document, Elvis' gaze followed mine. "we need to talk about that", he said referring to the document, the playful atmosphere dissipated without a trace. "Why are you doing this?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, the emotions I tried to hide, seeping through the cracks. ‘At one po
Tessa POV "stay with me for 2 weeks, and i will offer you the deal you are here for, then you can leave freely or i will lock you here and you will never leave”. the words kept echoing on my head unstop.‘ what have i gotten myself into’‘God no’ i stood there frozen‘so I'm trapped’‘this wasn't the plan’he is clearly threatening me, leave freely or be trapped forever. What does he really want? I screamed but received no response.‘oh God, taught he has moved on, he broke up with me himself for crying out loud’ I continuously banged on the door but received no response.I slumped against the door, tears streaming down my face, fear gripped me, the thought of my daughter fuels my vulnerability even more. What will happen if he finds out about her?.stay with him for 2 weeks?what fo
Elvis povJust then my phone rang, and my frustration skyrocketed. I glanced at the caller ID, and my eyes narrowed at the name flashing on the screen 'Harriet'. 'I'm sincerely not in the mood for her pretentiousness'it kept ringing, making me increasingly annoyed."What?" I asked coldly, my tone icy. Harriet hesitated, clearly sensing my frustration. "uhmm..uhm, did i disturb your work?" she asked innocently. i calmed down, she isn't the cause of my frustration while transferring it to her?. "I'm sorry for the way i sounded, work stress”"I understand brother Elvis, I am at your house but you are not back yet, I brought your favorite."" Yeah, I'm busy, " I said, fabricating a convenient excuse." I went for a business meeting." The lie rolled off my tongue effortlessly, and I hope Harriet buys that. "Okay". she replied disappointed before hanging up.(P. S: ensure to read this for better understanding- The penthouse where Elvis took Tessa to is not his usual reside, but one of
