DEVON
Virtually nothing can be compared to the feeling of waking up in bed to be greeted by the pleasant sight of Theo's relaxed features. I watched him sleep with the smile on my face growing by the minute. His messy black hair was a sharp contrast to the snow white material of his pillow. He stirred, his long eyelashes fluttering slightly. "Good morning, handsome" I said, shooting him a smile as soon as his eyes fell open. "Morning, beautiful" he replied, a smile tugging at his lips. He pulled me close to himself and planted a kiss on the crown of my head. My eyes fluttered close as I basked in his warmth. "What day is today?" I asked."Today's Saturday, the 13th...." I gasped, my eyes widening.
"Today is Karla's birthday!"
"Okay...." Theo said, looking amused.
"What's so funny right now?" I demanded, narrowing my eyes. He chuckled, tucking my hair behind my ears.
"Toda
DEVON I should probably have paid attention when Theo had said that he was making no promises on not pranking me. Little did I know that he'd gone ahead to fill my shampoo bottle with pink dye just to make us even. It wasn't that bad, we both had pink hair for a whole week. Meanwhile, the search for the silver beast wasn't going fine, twelve mundanes had been declared missing. It was definitely not a good sign. Liam had started to cooperate more and he was back to work with Theo as his PA. I wasn't expecting that anyway, but Theo actually needed the job for the time being. I was just stepping out of the mall when I nearly bumped into a familiar brunette. "Devon! Oh my gosh, it's been quite a while since we saw each other!" Amyra gushed, embracing me. She looked really different too. Her hair was cut to her shoulders, stylishly and she had green contacts on. She'd definitely put on more weight and her skin h
DEVON My phone rang, probably for the millionth time in the evening. I didn't want to pick Karla's calls especially since I knew that I would feel guilty about not attending her birthday party which was supposed to kickoff in a few hours. Theo was still sick and I couldn't leave him all alone by himself to attend Karla's birthday party. So when my phone rang again, I let out a loud groan. Theo coughed, his eyes fluttering half open."You should pick her call, Dev" he croaked."I feel like a horrible friend, you know. I promised her I would go to her birthday party no matter what. But, I can't leave you on your own and I don't want to have to explain anything to her" I said."You should go to the party, I'll be fine. It's not like I'm dying" he said."How can you tell me to leave you here while you're this sick? Even if I go there, I wouldn't have any fun, I'll keep worrying about you" I said.He coughed again, clear
DEVON I walked into the bedroom and placed the tray containing Theo's breakfast on the night stand. He was still asleep, faint dark circles beneath his eyes. I brushed his hair away from his face and pressed a kiss to his temple. He stirred, long dark lashes fluttering subtly. I planted another kiss to the corner of his lips which curved into a smile. "It's time to wake up, sleeping beauty" I whispered. "Not yet" he rasped, pulling me down to lay on top of him. He flipped us both upside down, with him hovering over me. There he goes again with his superhuman strength. His thumb slowly traced my lips and I smiled, gazing at his beautiful golden eyes. "Beautiful as always" he commented and I chuckled. "Not as beautiful as you are, though" I said, cupping the side of his face. He laughed. "I'm not starting an argument with you, this morning" he said, laying back down as he drew me into his arms with my head resting on his
As Theo drove us home, a heavy tension hung between us. Lucy's voice kept echoing in my head and it was starting to rile me up. I stared at Theo who was staring straight ahead with his lips set in a firm line. I placed my hand on his jean clad thigh and let out a sigh."You're upset" I said, breaking the silence. He still didn't say anything. "I'm sorry for not telling you about what happened at Karla's house" I said, gazing at him. He let out a sigh, his grip on the steering wheel, tightening. I feared that he would rip off the steering wheel."Theo-". His stoic expression faltered."I'm not mad at you"Those were the first group of words that he uttered since we left Lucy's apartment."But-why do you look so upset?" I asked. He gave me a knowing look and looked away. It was then I understood why he was upset. I knew Theo well enough to be able to read his thoughts by merely looking into his golden eyes.&nb
DEVON A blur of colors was what I saw as soon as I was roused from my unconscious state. I blinked, my vision slowly becoming more focused and clearer. Golden eyes were staring at me. Golden eyes that held nothing but concern for me. I blinked again, realizing that I was lying in Theo's bed with him hovering above me. He slowly brushed my hair away from my face, still looking very worried. I didn't have the faintest idea of what had happened. I didn't know why I was lying in Theo's bed feeling like I was floating. But then, I noticed the way his eyes glowed-- they glowed like they were actually living and breathing. It was enchanting to watch how his eyes would grow dim and then brighten so steadily--like a heartbeat. His eyes were warm, they made me feel all mushy on the inside. His dark hair was glowing in the light-- black strands with fewer blue strands amongst them. My goodness, he's beautiful."Devon?" He said,
DEVON "Luke is not a bad person and he doesn't deserve what Amyra did to him that's why I have become his mate" Lucy explained and I heaved a sigh."He's gone through so much already, Lucy. Please don't hurt him" I said."I would never do that to him" she said."What I don't get is why all this didn't happen before I died " Theo said, running a hand through his hair."Amyra has always known that she's a part of the silver beast. Her mother, Xaira knew about it as well. All she wanted was for her daughter to rule the four lands. Amyra was having a hard time finding her partner in order to activate her powers. When you made Luke the king of the four lands, Amyra felt that she didn't need to activate her powers since she would be ruling alongside Luke. She became selfish though. She wanted the four lands all to herself. She went in search of her partner. But then, she heard that you were back. She was upset. She's the one who sent three incu
THEO "I'm so happy to see you, Theo. I'm so glad you're back to your old self" Rachel said, squeezing my hand gently."Me too" I said, returning the endearing gesture."Is Luke back?" She asked."Of course he is. A lot of things has happened""Bad things? Did something happen to him?"I sighed, running a hand through my hair."He'll be fine"Rachel exhaled slowly and closed her eyes briefly. I filled her in on the recent happenings. She was terrified. While we were having a conversation,Natasha walked up to the both of us and handed me the sandwiches."Tasha?" Rachel said "Yes, Rachel?""This is Theo, my adopted son" she said and Natasha smiled. "Nice to meet you" she said and I returned her smile. "You too""He wants to talk to you, Tasha" Natasha tensed up. "But-""Jean and Mia will take care of the customers. Please sit" Rachel said, gesturing to the empty seat beside me."
DEVON "You're a druid?" I said, trying to process what I'd just heard."What? Hard to believe?" Veronica purred, a look of amusement on her cat-like features."Then you know a lot about the twin moons?" Theo said to Veronica who shrugged as she rubbed her long fingernails together."I know something about the twin moons but it's not going to be enough""Liam said he saw you with a book -" Veronica rolled her eyes."Of course it would be Liam. I'm afraid I no longer have the book here with me""What do you mean?" I asked."Amyra sent one of her minions to steal the book from me. It's gone"My heart sank, dread creeping down my spine."What do you know about the twin moons?" Theo asked."The twin moons was discovered by Ivagon, decades ago. It was said that the blood moon is the only thing that can lead to the appearance of the twin moons. The twin moons can be called upon, it just doesn't appear
