"N-no. I'm not into that kind of stuff." I coughed into my fist.
"Really?" Lorenzo grinned as his had trailed higher up my thigh, stopping right above my crotch, and my breath hitched.
"Let's make a deal. We could... test my hypothesis, and if you're not affected, I won't give you any punishment when your escape plan fails."
And on cue, my mind was swimming with me bent over his lap. My cheeks flushed, and his grin grew bigger. Of course he was enjoying this.
"No, thank you. I'm not making any more bets with you. Who knows how you're going to twist that for your advantage?" I quickly said and slapped his hand away from my thigh. "And there won't be any other punishment. My next escape plan will be my last."
"Too bad. I was really hoping you would say yes. The thought of watching you squirm is... invigorating." He winked at me as he scooted away from me.
'Yes, invigorating.' I mused as he crossed his legs, trying to hide the bulge in his pants. At least I affected him just as much as he affected me. A win was a win.
"You know the next punishment will be worse than the previous. Gradually building up to the big slaughter. If I were you, I would make every trial count."
"Again, there won't be any other punishment. My next escape plan will be my last. Do you think we can stop over at a boutique? Clara and I didn't exactly do any shopping." I gave him a sheepish smile.
"Fine, but you and Clara would be going to different ones."
"What! I can't go shopping alone!" I frowned and narrowed my eyes at him. "Are you hiding her from me because you hurt her? You aren't going to hurt her, are you? And don't say you don't hurt family because you've proven you are capable of going low."
"Clara is fine. I can't do anything to her even if I wanted to because she has to meet her betrothed tomorrow, and she has to be in good shape."
'Ugh, she has to meet that guy. That's the one reason I regret not escaping today."
"But I can't go shopping on my own. Who does that? It's no fun." I whined and pouted.
"If you're so bothered about that, maybe I should come with you." Lorenzo snorted, and a creepy grin spread across my cheeks.
"Ok. You can come with me."
"What?" His eyes snapped to me, and he frowned. "That was a joke."
"Oh, so the scary Diavolo is intimidated by a little shopping spree. How predictable." I crinkled my face at him. His jaw tightened, and I pressed my lips together, holding back my laugh.
"Why am I even surprised? Stepping into a girly store would probably drain you of your domineering, broody masculinity." I snorted and turned my attention to the window.
His heated glare scorched my back, and the corner of my lips tipped to a smirk. Yes, I shouldn't prod a man that could kill me and mount my head on his wall, especially with things I didn't mean, but it was way too fun.
And we wouldn't have been in the situation if he had just let me go with Clara, so technically it was his fault he was in the mess.
"Y—"
"Fine, I'll go with you." Lorenzo huffed, and my eyes widened.
"Wait! Really?" I gawked at him. He was agreeing! That wasn't my plan!
"Isn't that what you wanted?" He eyed me, and his lips twitched to a small smirk. "What? Suddenly regretting your decision? Worried that domineering, broody masculinity will ruin your pink and frizzy femininity shopping?"
"No." I quickly retorted. How dare he use my words against me? "Since you're so eager, I'll let you tag along."
He snorted and gave some instruction to the driver.
'So the devil is following me shopping.' I thought and snickered. 'This will be so much fun. And since we'll be spending time together, maybe I’ll flatter or annoy him so much that he'll drop something useful to help my escape plan. Poor Lorenzo; he doesn't know what he's getting himself into."

"Do these people know you are... you know... you?" I whispered to Lorenzo as we sat in the VIP lounge of the boutique, and one of the saleswomen poured us a glass of champagne while the other fussed around for who knew what.
The moment we walked into the boutique, they welcomed us like we were gods. They were all smiles and polite, which was even stranger because if they knew he was Diavolo, they would be terrified. Or at least show a bit of fear.
He gave me a strange look, like I was crazy, and I furrowed my brows.
"What?" I asked. Wasn't Diavolo said to be unseen? Only people connected to the mafia knew his face; at least that was what the rumours said.
"You really don't know anything about me, do you?" He sighed and picked up the flute of the champagne. "I'm Lorenzo Raimondo, CEO of Raimondo Corps."
"Oh. Makes sense." I slowly nodded my head as I ogled at him.
So he wasn't just the Don of one of the biggest mafia groups in the country but also the CEO of one of the biggest companies in the entire country too. Damn, the man had power.
"Welcome to Midas' Touch again, Mr. Raimondo and Miss Harper. I'm Stacy, and I'll be in charge of everything you need today. I'm at your beck and call." Stacy, the saleswoman, said with a bright smile that almost blinded me.
Can't blame her though. Imagine the commission she was going to get from my spending. If I were in her shoes, my entire face would be a smile.
"So where do you want to start? Dresses? Jewelleries? Shoes? Lingerie?"
"You won't mind if I max out your card, would you?" I teased, nudging Lorenzo, and took out his black card from my bag.
"You can max this one too, if you agree to put on a fashion show for me." He laughed and pulled out another one from his pocket.
"Deal!" I plucked his card from his hand and stood up.
"Let's go crazy, shall we?" I winked at Stacy.
"You b*tches thought you were smart, huh?" Marco smirked as he leaned against one of the five cars that blocked the entrance of the subway station.I scowled and glowered at the cocky bastard.Ugh, of all the people under Lorenzo, it had to be the cockroach that found us. Couldn't any other person be smart enough to discover our moves? How dumb were the others if he was the only one that could trace us?"Why did it have to be Marco?" Clara hissed, clicking her tongue. Good to know she was just as pissed as I was."Should we make a run for it?" She whispered."No. They would catch us, and I don't want to give him the thrill of us being the prey and he being the hunter. I'm sure he would jerk off to that." I mumbled."What are you two b*tching about? Hope you aren't planning to run because I'm going to have one helluva time hunting you down. If you beg, I can give you a head start." He grinned, and I almost rolled my eyes.Like I was go
"I'm not in trouble, am I?" I asked as I shut the door of the car and strapped in my seat belt."Why would you think that?" Lorenzo asked as the car purred to life and he drove off."Because you could have sent someone else to come to pick me up, but you didn't. Were you afraid that I would have run away and you lost the deal, or did you just miss me?" I grinned."The deal was you and Clara escaping; if only you left, it doesn't count. And why would I miss you? You've been a thorn in my side since we met." He said, completely focused on the road."Come on, don't be shy. According to a certain someone, you've been talking quite fondly about me." I wiggled my brows at him."What nonsense has Pablo been spewing now?" He groaned. How did he know I had spoken with Pablo? Didn't know, didn't care. He probably had cameras watching me, or Sylvia had reported my every move to him."Well, it's not nonsense if he was saying the truth. Was he rig
#Day 3#I pushed my hair behind my ear as I walked to one of the private VIP booths, and I let out a shaky breath.Damn, first days at a new job can be a b*tch. It wasn't like I was doing anything other than talking and maybe a little flirting here and there. Honestly, the job was almost too easy to be real.I had spent the previous day on the sidelines watching my coworkers talk with patrons and learning how the job worked. It had looked easy seeing it from afar, but being pushed into the spotlight sent all my nerves flying in a frenzy. And it didn't help that someone requested me yesterday. Yesterday! I was practically not doing anything, but I still caught someone's eye. With the way Sylvia was excited and nervous, it was someone really important, VIP of VIP it seemed. Of course she moved it to when I actually started the job, which led me to the situation I currently was in.And to my ‘luck’, the patron had requested a private booth. I was going to be f*cking alone in a secluded p
"Lorenzo!" A woman squealed the moment Lorenzo and I stepped into what looked like a very exclusive-looking club. Her curvy figure swayed as she sashayed towards him, and she threw her arms around him."I—""You're getting too comfortable with me, Sylvia." Lorenzo growled, glaring down at her without reciprocating her hug, and she jumped away from him."I'm sorry; it’s just it has been a while since I saw you and I've missed you so much. Haven't you missed me?" She said softly, pushing her blonde hair over her ear and batting her eyes at him. "I've been thinking of you. Of us. You—""There's no us, Sylvia. There never was one, so stop feeding your delusions." He hissed, and she flinched."I... I-I t-thought we had... we were..." She stuttered, but his harsh glare dried the rest of her words. Were they in a situationship or something? It seemed like she thought she had something with him, but he wasn't on the same page with her.My gaze flickered between the two of them, and I pursed m
"Stop over-worrying, Clara. You'll be fine." I said as Clara smoothed her peach dress again."I don't want to do this. I can't do this. His family are even worse than him; he'll feed me to them, and they'll devour me without thinking." Clara panicked as we walked into the foyer. "I should pretend that I'm sick again. I'm sure I can convince Lorenzo this time. I can say I have the flu or a cold or a brain-eating virus or—""Stop." I stood in front of her and grabbed her shoulders. "Overthinking won't help you. Hell, you'll end up more stressed.""I know, but I just can't help it. You don't know these people. They're vile. Silvano might not acknowledge me, but at least he doesn't insult me. His family, on the other hand..." She muttered and pressed her lips into a thin line."I might not know them, but I know the universal rule of all b*tchy people: if you're timid and fearful, they'll finish you. But if you act confident and show them you aren't intimidated, they'll back down. You need
"How do you know we're being watched?" Clara asked immediately I shut my bathroom door behind us."When I broke out of my former room, Lorenzo told me he knew I was escaping through the hidden security camera. I can bet he planted some in this one too. I'm sure that's how he knew our previous plan." I whispered as I stared around the bathroom, looking for anything that seemed out of place. "Hopefully, there's none here.""Oh, the cameras. How could I have forgotten?" She muttered, shaking her head."So, what's your plan?" I asked as I walked to the large mirror and turned on the tap under it."It's still a work in progress, but it's something." She mumbled, kicking her leg against the air as I washed my hand and face. "I was thinking that if we knew the ins and outs of the mansion, it would be easy for us to take advantage of a diversion, something—""A diversion? Like setting the entire house on fire, and during the commotion, we steal a car and escape?" I grinned, and her eyes grew
