Everyone was stunned.

The way they looked at Marvin shifted instantly, shock and disgust filling their eyes.

Marvin suddenly lunged at me.

"This is all your fault! If it weren't for you, Grandpa's orchard would be mine! I could've had a good life!"

His eyes were wild, full of jealousy and madness. I instinctively stepped back.

The police rushed in immediately, pinned him to the ground, and snapped handcuffs onto his wrists.

Yoana collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down her face.

As he spoke, the lawyer pulled out a stack of documents from his briefcase and held them high."These are the evidence," he said, his voice calm and clear. "They include chat records between Marvin and some of you, as well as records of financial transactions."It clearly shows that Marvin promised each participant one hundred thousand dollars to help him frame Eric and seize the inheritance of the orchard."The crowd fell silent. He continued, "Your actions already constitute serious criminal offenses, including conspiracy to harm, defamation, and financial fraud."If these charges are confirmed, the consequences will not be light."The air seemed to freeze."Every single one of you involved could be facing long-term imprisonment."The color drained from the townspeople's faces. Their earlier arrogance vanished as if it had been snuffed out. One by one, they instinctively stepped back.Even Bruce began to sweat, forcing himself to stay calm as he stammered,"Y-you're just tr

I didn't mean for this to happen. Marvin seduced me!"He sent me flirty messages while you were away on business. He tricked me into sleeping with him!"I got pregnant with his child. I had no choice. I had to help him…"I pulled out my phone and played a recording."I recorded this while I was waiting downstairs at your place. You and Marvin were talking about how to frame me and take all the money from the redevelopment. You said everything clearly. Did you really think I didn't

My mother walked over, her voice suddenly soft and fake. "Eric, stop making a scene. Come with us to the hospital and get proper treatment. Be a good boy.""Yeah, bro. You're sick. You need help," Marvin chimed in.At that moment, sirens wailed outside. An ambulance from a psychiatric hospital pulled up at the entrance. Two medical staff in white coats walked in, holding restraint straps."Mr. Johnson, we're here to take you for treatment. Please cooperate."I backed away in despair, the knife pressed tight against my throat. Blood had already started to seep out.Just as everything was about to spiral out of control, the police station door swung open. A familiar figure strode in and shouted, 'Stop!' It was Julian Lowell, my supervisor, dressed in a sharp suit, his face dark with anger. In his hand, he held a USB drive. He walked straight up to the officers."I have evidence that proves he's been framed."Julian's words stunned everyone into silence.Marvin's face turned p

I did not react. Instead, I poured more gasoline over Yoana. Her body started trembling uncontrollably, fear taking over.My mother was on the verge of collapse, crying so hard her voice turned hoarse. She accidentally slammed her forehead against the ground, a thin line of blood appearing."Eric, please… she's just a child… you can't do this… please…"I let out an icy snort. My finger flicked. With a loud whoosh, the fire roared to life, forming a ring of flames that trapped Yoana in the center. Everyone screamed and rushed forward to put out the fire.In the chaos, I made my move, dashing into the house to grab what I came for before climbing over the wall and escaping. By the time the flames were put out, Yoana had already fainted from fear. Only then did they realize I was gone.My parents' faces changed instantly as they rushed into the house, and a moment later, my mother came running out, screaming. Her voice was filled with terror."It's gone! That folder… it's gone

In that moment, everything that had felt blurry suddenly became clear. Hatred was the only thing keeping me alive. When I was a kid, I once found a hidden tunnel in the pond while swimming. With the last of my strength, I forced myself toward it.The second I crawled out, I collapsed onto the ground, coughing up blood. I did not even have time to catch my breath. I struggled to my feet, flagged down a taxi, and rushed to the town's bus station. There, I bought the earliest ticket heading back to the city.By the time the bus arrived, it was already evening. I went straight to Yoana's building and waited in the hallway for three hours. Finally, she came downstairs to take out the trash. I pressed a cloth soaked in ether over her mouth. She struggled twice, then went limp.I quickly tied up her hands and feet, shoved her into the back seat of a car I had rented earlier, and slammed on the gas, speeding toward my hometown.By the time I pulled into the yard, the sky was just starti

Seeing how warmly they welcomed me, the tension that had been gripping my nerves finally loosened. Tears slipped down before I could stop them.Yeah. No matter how the outside world treated me, my family would always stand by my side. That was what I believed. At dinner, Mom made a whole table full of my favorite dishes. Meatloaf, grilled salmon, fresh greens. All the flavors I grew up with. The atmosphere around the table felt warm and easy. The town mayor, Bruce Hoffman, was there too, sitting beside my father, chatting casually. Every there and then, he would turn to me and ask about my work in the city. Then Mom suddenly set down her utensils and asked carefully, "Eric… did something happen while you were out there? People in town have been talking. They said… they said you got into trouble in the city."I was about to explain. However, then I remembered what happened the last two times I told the truth.I did not dare try again. So I quickly changed the subject. "Mom, I'm ju
