BRIELLE POV
“No.Freaking.Way” “What is it? Ryan asked seeing the excitement on my face “You know the job I half heartedly applied for a few weeks ago because the deadline was the next day?” I explained “Yeah, the Job you were so sure that you were not even going to be considered” “Yes I actually just got an interview at the company tomorrow” I stated Ryan hugged me and we jumped around excitedly hopping like little girls. “You need to get ready, you literally just got the interview of working with one of the most famous companies girl, how did you get so lucky? There were literally so many applicants” Ryan said. “That's why I had given up all hope, there were thousands of applicants. I have to start preparing, I don't even know what to say” “Don't worry girl, you got this” Ryan assured. The next day had come quickly, the interview was at eleven am in the morning and I had woken up by seven am just so I wouldn't get late. I wore a black slim fitting skirt and white long sleeve according to the dress code, my hair was neatly packed in a slick back ponytail and I did a clean girl makeup to complete the look.I grabbed my bag and car keys and it was nearly an hour to the interview time, perfect. I got to the company and parked in the car park, I walked into the huge company building. I was directed to the receptionist where she directed me to the corporate headquarters waiting room. I entered the waiting room and met only one person there, this is strange. Thousands of people applied for this job, how is it possible that only few were accepted for an interview? I sat at the empty seat next to the other interviewee “Hello, Where are the others?” I asked the girl next to me “I think there's only one other interviewee in there, it's just us” She replied “Oh okay, thanks” I said. In the next few minutes, the male interviewee walked out of the interview office almost in tears which could only leave me to imagine how cruel the interviewers might be. I gulped down my spit down my throat in anxiety, I could see the other girl's face filled with fear and anxiety. A corporate lady came out from the office and told me I was next. “But she was here before me, it's only right if she goes first” I protested “Are you here for the job interview or not?” she asked, rudely. I had no option than to comply, I sent an apologetic look to the other girl and she responds “Goodluck” she yelled from down the hall before I walked into the interview office. Cold brown eyes met mine from behind the desk. Dear God… “Olivia, if you'd please excuse us” He said referring to the corporate lady who brought me into the office Please stay, olivia. “But sir, we’re both supposed to interview them together” she replied “I don't want to repeat myself” he looked at her coldly “Yes sir” olivia said before she walked out and left us “This was all a set up, wasn't it?” I asked. Everything made sense now I was never supposed to make it to the interview stage, he set it all up. “Not really, I can explain” He said in his deep bass voice. “Oh cut that crap, I thought I explained myself properly by telling you not to ever show your face to me” “You applied to my companies vacancy and you're here because of your competence, Brielle” he said, saying my name in a commanding tone “If I had known it was your company, I wouldn't have stepped my feet within five miles of this place” I rolled my eyes He sighed. “Can we just go on with the interview, please?” he said in a resigned tone. “Fine, but just to let you know, I will never ever agree to work for you” I said in a tone of finality. “Why do you want to work for us?” He asked the first question as he sat back in his chair I smirked “I obviously don't” “You're being very unprofessional” he glared. “I dont care” I said as I feign innocence The interview went on, I reluctantly answered a few questions correctly and said rude comments regarding others. “This interview has come to an end, we will contact you to let you know if you passed” “Don't contact me, delete my number or email from your phone or your company's details” I said before I got up and walked out without letting him say another word. I passed by olivia who was glaring at me and the girl at the waiting room and saw her entering the interview office before I entered the lift and the door shut close. Poor girl, she had no idea she was about to start working for a monster. It was like God was punishing me and Mateo Caldwell was my punishment. Why did he keep reappearing in my life after all these years? I needed a cold Starbucks coffee to cool my head right now.I drove my White Tesla model 3 car away from the car park towards the nearest starbucks. I parked my car in the car park, grabbed my macbook, Ipad pro and phone. I went to the till and ordered a large cup of cold latte with extra whipped cream with sprinkles and cakes before going to find a seat. I needed the sugar to fill my brain so much that I wouldn't be able to think and just forget about today's events. I put a movie on my laptop while I simultaneously scrolled through social media and P*******t on my ipad and slowly sipped my drink. I was so lost in the activities that I didn't know when a blonde haired boy with cute green eyes approached me “Hi, can I sit here please?” He asked pointing to the chair next to me There were other empty tables, I could tell he just wanted to talk to me “Um yeah sure” I said, trying not to seem rude by declining. He sat on the chair next to me “What movie are you watching? It looks interesting” he said pointing to my laptop “Oh its a series called Gossip girl” I replied “Oh, alright. My name's Dave, what's yours?” He asked “Brielle” I told him “Brielle, you're very pretty, with a pretty name” “Thank you” I replied, already starting to get irritated and bored of this conversation. Classic old tales with boys, saying the same things to compliment a girl and impress her. “So I was wondering if you'd like to exchange social media….” “I'm sorry but i'm not in a good mood right now as my ex bully or rather soon to be step brother ruined my entire day and im not in the mood to talk to anyone” I said, cutting him off.. I didn't care if I seemed rude, I've had enough of the conversation and I just wanted to be left alone, if it was any other day, maybe I would have been interested in what he was saying. Couldn't a girl get a quiet time alone by herself anymore? He looked downcasted as he got up and left. After a few minutes, I got up and went to my car after ordering another cup of coffee to drink on my drive home.BRIELLE POVI got up and walked to Mateos office. I knocked on his door and opened the door. His office was empty, I guess he hasn’t resumed work for the day.I was just about to sit on the couch when the door opened and he walked in“Hey, good morning” I said“What are you doing here?” He asked walking to his seatSuch an asshole.“You could have at least responded to my greetings” I said rolling my eyes at him“How about we proceed to why you’re here?” He asked“Well I brought evidence that something fishy happened with my project” I dropped my laptop on his table and showed him the video of the cctv footage “And what does this prove?” he asked nonchalantly, barely watching the footage“How about you look closer and pay attention to the time frames?” I askedHe looked angry and was sounding impatient, it was getting on my last nerves. All I wanted to do was clear my name. His eyes widened when he saw the time frame cut.“You’re right, someone messed with the cctv footage” he said“
BRIELLE POVI got home two hours ago and I haven’t been able to move one inch from my bed.The actions that took place today kept replaying in my head, how did that happen all of a sudden? Or was it a genuine technical error? A video can't just be deleted from my laptop due to an issue.Did someone really do it and How do I find out who did this?Could it really be Olivia? She wouldn’t stope so low, would she?I don't want to accuse her without evidence, it could be any other personI remember the disappointed and angry look in Mateo’s eyes and the shiver I felt in my body.I had never seen him so upset, and I want to fix this.I thought things were getting normal between us, I haven't even been upset with him like I was before. But yet it took just one little mistake and everything go spiraling down He couldn’t even look at me, couldn’t he have at least given me the benefit of the doubt? That just shows how he doesnt trust me at allHe knows I’ll never do something as terrible as t
BRIELLE POVThe cup fell on the floor and broke into pieces, everyone in the kitchen and nearby heard the noise and turned to me.I looked up and saw it was Olivia who had bumped into me.I was beginning to wonder where she was, I hadn’t seen her in a week.“Oh my goodness, I am so sorry” she said as she attempted to pick up the big pieces of glass from the ground. She signals the office cleaner who comes to clean up the mess“I’m sorry for bumping into you, I didn’t see you there” Olivia said, I could see a hidden smirk behind her apology.Right, as if I didn’t have enough drama going on in my life already.“As long as it was a mistake, it doesn’t matter” I said, I was sure it certainly wasn't a mistake.“What if it wasn’t?” She asked, smirking “I expected nothing less of you” I smiled. She grits her teethI planned to make another cup of coffee but decided against it. I was about to walk past Olivia to my office when she stopped me.“So you think you’re all that huh?” She asked, rh
BRIELLE POVI rose from the water and saw Mateo standing there staring at me“What the fuck? You scared me” I screamed“Do I look scary?” He asked standing there in a black shirt and casual shorts“Why were you sneaking around the house, I thought it was a robber” I said“And you kept swimming?” he asked, raising his eyebrow.“Yeah do you expect me to take a gun and go run after the robber?” I asked, deadpan.I heard him chuckle. I then realized this was the first time we were having a conversation without actually saying mean words to each other.“What are you even doing here? I was promised your absence in this house” I crossed my hands on my chest“Lizzy called me to come make sure the special guest of honor was comfortable in the house and I can see you've already gotten suited in” he said sarcasticallyMy mother was such a snitch sometimes.“Well now you've done your check in, you can leave” I said as I was about to go back to my swimming.I suddenly became aware of the way he wa
BRIELLE POVThe next morning, after I finished checking my bags to see if I had everything packed.I got dressed and put on a comfy outfit: grey flared joggers and a white short sleeve crop top, packing my hair in a slick ponytail.I opened my laptop as I was eating breakfast and checked my emails and I saw some big news.A huge beauty brand emailed me that they were interested in working with me. I replied to their email and they responded that they were willing to pay any rates and would send me products every month.I guess posting quality videos does have an advantage, I was about to start making money just from posting faceless aesthetic videos on social media.Ryan would be so happy for me as she was my number one fan and the only person who knew about my secret accounts. After eating breakfast and making sure the house was in order I took my bags and drove to Davis mansion. On arriving at the house, the butler informed me that they had left for their honeymoon very early in th
BRIELLE POVHearing Mom ask me to go dance with Mateo was beyond unexpected.I declined but no one could ever win an argument against my mom.His hands on my waist, warm and steady and I feel a subtle pull as he draws me closer. The music swirls around us, but all I can hear is the fast thrum of my heartbeat. His touch is light but grounding, sending a quiet shiver through me as I let my arms slide up to rest on his shoulders. We start to move together, our steps falling into a natural rhythm, and I can feel the tension and ease in the way his body leans into mine.I have to remind myself not to stiffen, not to pull away. I hate that he’s always so confident, always so sure of himself, like the world bends to his will. And yet here I am, letting him guide me, swaying to the rhythm of the music like I don’t have a choice. His breath grazes my ear as he speaks softly-words I barely caught on, and I ignore the way my heart trips over itself. I glance up at him, catching the way his eyes
