“Look at what you’ve done. Is this how you repay your mother after everything she’s done?” Rodel scolded Dexie, wagging a finger at her. Her casual and unrepentant manner only irritated him further.

Dexie gave him a lazy look. “I didn’t ask her and Roxane to return everything I spent on them in the last decades. Dad, how dare you ask me to pay?”

She then turned to Sarry and Roxane, wearing a challenging smile on her face. “Now that Roxane is in such a state, aren’t you afraid that my payment will give her what she deserves?”
