"Babe, do you really have to go back? You know we can stay together as long as you want," Melissa said to me with pouted lips while clinging to me.
"I'm very well aware of that, but unfortunately I can't continue staying here. I have stayed here for over three days with you, and now I have to go back to where I live," I said to Melissa, and with that she frowned unhappily.
"And also to be with her, right?" she asked, and with that I sighed heavily, knowing she was talking about Amelia.
Three days ago, after the argument she had with Amelia, I had done something which I knew deep down was very wrong.
It's true that both of them were arguing, but she crossed the line when she insulted Amelia's late mum during the argument, and despite knowing that, I still took her side and asked Amelia to apologise to her, and when Amelia didn't agree, I angrily left with Melissa, and for the past three days, I have been living in one of my safe houses with Melissa.
Even though what I did to Amelia was wrong, deep down I don't regret it; after all, she had done worse than that to Melissa and me.
If Melissa and I aren't married today, it's all because of Amelia. Three years ago, she had orchestrated a scandal that not only threatened to ruin my life but also ruined my marriage with Melissa, and that's the reason why I got married to her instead of Melissa in order to save both my reputation and that of her family.
In order to get back at her for doing that, I had treated her so well since when we got married to the extent that she completely forgot everything that she had done to Melissa and me and fell in love with me, and when I was very sure that she had fallen head over heels for me, I served her a divorce agreement in order to get back with the love of my life, who is Melissa.
I know that I may seem like a devil for doing that to her, but this was the least of the punishment I could give to her for what she did to me and Melissa; if not, there were many other harsh and cruel methods I could have used to make her pay, but I chose the easiest method because of how kind and lovely she has been to me since we got married.
Even though I was so angry at her, I just couldn't bring myself to hurt her more than I already did. Aside from all this, one thing that is still bothering me the most is what she requested as compensation for the divorce. I had expected her to ask for a huge amount of money or a mansion like every other woman would do, but she didn't; instead, she asked me to treat her like a real husband for one more month, and after that, she would leave for good.
Even though the demand seemed harmless, I can't help but feel that there's a hidden motive behind it, and whether the motive is good or bad, I still can't tell for now, but one thing is sure: I'm very well prepared for whatever it is.
"Babe, are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Melissa, who was still clinging to me, asked me, snapping me back to reality.
"Ooh, sorry, I was thinking about something else, so what were you saying?" I asked her.
"I was asking when we will get the chance to spend time together like this again," she said to me.
"After we get married, so you just have a little patience with me; the one month will be over very soon, and after that we will get married and spend as much time as we want together without anyone separating us," I said to her as I kissed her on the forehead.
"I can't wait for that," she said to me with a warm smile.
"Me too. I will be taking my leave now. Just give me a call if you need anything, okay?" I asked her as I opened my car and got inside.
"No problem, babe, drive safe," she said to me as I ignited the car.
"I will," I said to her in reply before driving away.
Getting back to the mansion where I was living with Amelia, I had expected to see her at home looking all worried as usual and asking me why I haven't been back home for the past three days and why I haven't also been picking up her calls, but contrary to what I had expected, there was no one at home, and strangely, for the first time, the whole mansion felt cold and lonely.
At first I didn't even want to mind the fact that she wasn't at home; after all, this wasn't my first time coming back home and not meeting her at home, but for a strange reason unknown to me, I kept on feeling restless. I couldn't even bring myself to sit down. I don't know if it was because I haven't seen her for the past three days or because I have been ignoring her calls without knowing the main reason why she was calling, and strangely, this morning she didn't even call.
After strolling around the sitting room for what seemed like eternity while trying to hold myself back from calling her, I finally took my phone and placed a call to her, but after some minutes of ringing, she didn't pick up. Without hesitating, I placed a call to her once again, but just like the first time, she still didn't pick up. After calling her over four times and not getting a reply, I couldn't hold myself back anymore. Using the localisation app on my phone, I immediately traced her phone number to where she was, and on getting the location, I took my car keys and immediately made my way to the exit, as I was determined to know where on earth she was and why the hell she was ignoring my calls.
*Third Person's POV*"It's been over two months since Henry was reported dead, and according to the news that came out, it was the men that were working for him that plotted against him and killed him, and afterwards they ran away with all the money he was keeping with him since he couldn't go to the bank to deposit or withdraw money because he was declared wanted.Meanwhile, in one of the biggest party halls in New York City, many rich and influential billionaires could be seen making their way into the party hall where the most talked-about wedding ceremony of two of the most influential couples in New York City was going to take place, and the influential couples in question were none other than Adrian and Amelia and James and Tessa. One of the things that made the wedding ceremony the most talked-about event in New York City for the past few weeks is the fact that during the wedding ceremony, two different couples were going to get married at the same time, and this wasn't somethi
*Third Person's POV*It was the following day after Henry abducted Amelia and brought her to the place where he had been hiding since he became wanted in New York City.As early as five AM, he could be seen sitting alone while smoking some cigarettes when one of his men suddenly walked up to him."Good morning, Boss," the person greeted Henry as he got to where he was sitting."Yes, good morning. Is there any problem?" Henry asked him."Not really, Boss; it's just that I went to check up on your prisoner, and I noticed that she didn't touch the food we offered her last night, so I don't know if we should prepare another food for her this morning and whether she will eat it if we do," the man said to Henry."You can prepare another food for her this morning, but if she still doesn't eat it, then do not prepare another one for her, after all I didn't bring her here to fatten her up, and also when she gets hungry, she will surely beg for that same food she's refusing right now," Henry sa
*Adrian*Leaving the place where we had Melissa locked up so that she wouldn't complicate things for us, Ben and I drove to his mansion so that he could take his laptop, with which he will track the phone number Henry used to call Melissa, and given how urgent the issue was, Ben couldn't stay at his place to track the phone number because his two little girls were still awake, and no matter how hard he tried to stay focused in their presence, they would surely find one way or another to distract him, and in order to avoid that from happening, I took Ben to my mansion, where he will be able to stay focused and track the phone number as fast as he can so that we will be able to find Amelia wherever Henry took her after abducting her. Over my place, as Ben was busy working on his laptop, I couldn't help but stroll around restlessly, as that was the only thing I could do at that moment to calm myself down a little bit.As I was still strolling around in the sitting room, my phone that I
*Amelia*I woke up only to find myself lying on a strong bed that was totally different from mine, which was very soft and comfy, and in a strange room that looked like a cell due to its size; the only reason why I wouldn't call it a cell was because it at least had a door and not an iron gate with barriers.Getting up from the bed, the memories of everything that had happened to me some hours ago came back, replaying in my head like a flashback: first, how a car suddenly slammed into my car as I was driving back home while discussing with James, and how the car's driver, whose voice sounded like that of Henry, came to my car and shot me with a gun containing a syringe that caused me to lose consciousness.Remembering all this, I immediately stood up and rushed towards the door and tried opening it, but to my surprise, the door was firmly locked from the outside."Hey, can anyone hear me? Whoever it is that brought me here should come and get me out of this tiny room right away," I be
*Third Person's POV*Edward could be seen discussing with his wife Abby after a long and tiring day at work. Suddenly, Melissa, who has been in her room since Edward came back, made her way out while dressed like someone who is going to a nightclub, and on seeing her parents, she simply muttered a greeting while making her way to the exit."Young woman, where the hell are you going by this time while dressed like that?" Edward asked Melissa, who sighed heavily before stopping and turning towards him."I'm going to see someone; I will be back very soon," Melissa said to her father with a deep frown before turning towards the exit door to open it."And the person you are going to see, doesn't the person have a name?" Edward asked Melissa, who turned immediately to look at him, but this time around, not with a deep frown, but with an irritated look."Come on, Darling, just let her be; she's already an adult, and she can take care of herself, so I don't think it's necessary for her to alw
AdrianAfter a long and tiring day at work, I was busy enjoying the dinner that I had just finished cooking when my phone suddenly began ringing. Standing up from the chair of the dining table where I was sitting, I made my way to the center table where my phone was and took it to check who was calling, and to my greatest surprise, the person calling was someone who I wasn't even expecting to receive a call from anytime soon. "Hey James, it's been a while," I said to the caller who was Amelia's cousin."Yes, Adrian, it's been a while," he said to me in reply. "By the way, I urgently need your help right now, please," he said to me with an urgent tone."Okay, what is it that I can help you with?" I asked him."I think Amelia is in trouble, and you need to help her," James said to me with his tone still sounding urgent."What kind of trouble exactly is she in, and how can I help her?" I asked James through the phone, and with that, he proceeded to recount to me how he was talking with
