ADRIANO COULD NOT sleep. His mind was very restless so he kept waking up during the night. He missed Avery and ached for her. Sometimes, he wondered what she was doing at the time, and then he began pacing his room.

When it was 4 a.m., he finally gave up on going back to sleep, instead, he went to take a cold shower to get ready for the day. He planned to tell Iris about everything when she woke up.

After showering, he put on a tracksuit and then went to work out at the gym to clear his head and give him time to think.

AN HOUR LATER, he drove into the mansion again, sweaty, hot but with a better focus.

Nana had arrived for the morning and she was in the kitchen getting ready for the day.

Adriano grunted a reply and asked, "Has Iris woken up?"

Nana nodded. "She has. Beatrice is helping to prepare her for school."
