After saying what she had to say, Sophia terminated the call without waiting for Francine's response.

The long, intense day at work had left her physically exhausted, and the call from Francine was like a sudden storm that worsened things for her.

She was finally able to smile again when she arrived at the hospital and saw Joshua waiting for her with a smile.

Sophia switched places with Helen, who stayed with Joshua during the day and went home at night. Before Helen left, however, she specifically mentioned that Phillip had come over earlier today.

Nodding, Sophia replied, "I know. He called me."

As she thought about how helpful Helen has been this whole time, she smiled in gratitude and said, "I'll have to trouble you to keep helping me with Joshua at the hospital, Helen. I'll give you a raise of 500 dollars a month. I hope you don't find it too little."

Helen was all smiles when she heard that she was getting a raise. "It's not too little at all! Thank you, Ms. Layton. I know
