LOGINLucien?
What is he doing here?
His dark and intense eyes burnt holes inside me with such force that air got stuck in my throat.
Not even a single word was spoken between us because the look in his eyes was telling that he had seen everything.
My lower lip wobbled.
If life had been the same as before, I would have broken down in his arms, right into his chest. The place where I once felt safe and protected from the evils of the world.
I would have cried out everything that I have been carrying in my heart for years now.
But things weren't the same anymore.
He wasn't the same man I loved.
Suddenly the silence was broken by a familiar voice, “There you are.”
My body stiffened. I didn't dare to look around. Lucien kept me locked under his gaze. He heard him, too, but didn't react. Not even a single inch of his facial expressions changed, which scared me. Because I know his calmer self is far more dangerous than his angry side.
Suddenly the temperature dropped by several degrees.
"How dare you hurt me? What do you think of yourself, huh? Stop acting like a goddess and come here, you little slut."
Lucien snapped at the name the man used to refer to me. It was as if his patience broke. I barely managed to see his jaw locking and his eyes blazing with anger before he reached out for the hand of the man with which he was trying to touch me again. I stepped away from both of them when Lucien started folding his hand back, trying to break it.
"Leave ... Leave my hand," the man almost begged.
But Lucien didn't listen.
His lips were silent but his eyes held the storm.
The storm wasn't going to calm down until it destroyed someone.
A loud gasp escaped my throat, and my hands reached for my mouth when a loud cracking sound echoed in the silent hallway, which was followed by a gut-wrenching, painful scream from that man.
He collapsed on the floor out of fear.
"Run!" Lucien finally spoke in his low and lethal voice, which made me shudder too. "Run before I decide to break every bone of your body."
The man's eyes widened in horror. He immediately crawled away from Lucien, stood up, and ran for his life.
My soul almost left my body when Lucien's head snapped at me. His eyes were blazing with possessiveness and fury.
He was burning with the desire to set the entire world on fire if anyone else laid a hand on me.
Suddenly, he took a step towards me, which forced me to take a step back. I didn't want him to come closer and breathe in the same air as mine.
He disgusts me now.
But my reluctance didn't stop him. He kept taking slow and purposeful steps forward until my back hit the cold wall behind.
His arms came up on either side of my head, caging me in without touching me. His familiar and intoxicating cologne enveloped me. The heat of his nearness hit me like a punch.
Suddenly, I looked around to realise he had cornered me in a dark place where no one could see us, even if they passed by.
My heartbeat shot up when he dropped his head and his eyes traced my trembling lips, the side of my neck, and my tightened jaw before moving down to the coat that was hanging off my shoulders, exposing the little dress beneath it.
I felt naked, exposed, and vulnerable under his gaze.
His eyes snapped at me and this time they were full of disgust.
“Stripper, huh?” His voice was low and poisonous. “So this is where you ended up?”
His hot breath fanned my face while my breath hitched but I kept my chin up, meeting his intense stare.
After indirectly forcing me into this, he can't play the saint here.
“It isn't your concern,” I said, keeping my voice steady. “It’s my personal matter.”
His jaw ticked.
And then he laughed. My first curl was so tight that my nails dug into my skin.
"Personal matter?" He mocked me, "Where is your pathetic husband, sweetheart? How is he doing?"
"A lot better than you!" I spat, looking straight into his eyes.
Suddenly, the smile vanished from his lips and jealousy flashed through his eyes.
"Then how did he even allow you this?" His eyes moved down my body.
Anger surged through my blood. I parted my lips but he didn’t give me time to speak.
"Umm, let me guess," he rubbed his chin dramatically. "You must have left him after he came on the streets." He chuckled. "Isn't it?"
My jaw tightened. I closed my eyes and looked away.
Suddenly I felt his hot breath fanning the curve of my neck. My eyes shot open and I found his lips close... Too close to my skin. He was inhaling me like I was some drug.
"Still so intoxicating," he mumbled under his breath.
“Lucien, move,” I demanded, without turning my head.
He wasn't touching me but the closeness was enough to set my entire body on fire.
Slowly he moved back and forced me to look into his eyes.
"You don't need to come here and sell yourself bit by bit for money. If anyone is going to have you... It will be me."
My breath hitched when he closed the tiniest distance between us. The bulging nerves of his neck were showing how badly he wanted to touch me.
"I have an offer for you," he said
He pulled out a card from his pocket and pushed it inside my blouse without touching me. His eyes lingered on my cleavage for more than a second before coming back to my face.
“Come to me for one night… and you’ll get a lot more than whatever crumbs these men throw at you.”
My whole body stiffened up. Anger rushed through my veins and I saw red.
Pure red.
My brain shut down and I did exactly what my blood screamed for.
I spit.
Right on his cheek.
The arrogance vanished from his face. His hand came up slowly to wipe it. He stared at his fingers for a second before lifting his sharp, dangerous gaze to me.
“There is no difference between you and the man who just chased me!”
His eyes darkened.
I yanked the card out of my blouse and looked down at it. It held his contact number, which has remained the same for years. I crushed it in my palm and threw it away.
"I don't need you or your pathetic help." I screamed at the top of my lungs, letting out all my frustration from the day at him, "Just stay away from me and my matters."
Sliding from the right, I stomped to the car. I barely reached it when, out of nowhere, he placed one hand on it and the other on the hood from behind me, caging me in once again.
"Don't touch me!" I threatened him, looking over my shoulder.
"I will not until you don't come begging to me," he whispered near my ear.
"Not in this life!" I spat.
"We'll see," he chuckled
He let go of the door and stepped back.
I shoved the door open, slid inside, and started the car. As I reversed, my eyes met his for a few seconds.
Lucien’s eyes burnt… not with lust, not with hate… but with something far more dangerous.
Possession.
There was an assurance in them that I would come to him anyhow.
Yes, I need money for my daughter.
But I will not go to him!
Never!

Cynthia entered the home, and closed the door, cutting off the roar of the evening traffic outside. Cynthia stepped into the living room, kicking off her heels with an exhausted sigh. It had been a busy and tiring day at the corporate office. Her mind was still reeling with balance sheets, client meetings, and market expansions. But the moment she saw her family, the tension in her shoulders began to dissolve. The bright laughter of her children echoed down the hallway, accompanied by a deep, familiar chuckle that always made her heart skip a beat.Cynthia folded her arms to her chest and leaned against the doorframe with a soft smile playing on her lips at the sight before her. The living room was an absolute disaster of colorful blocks, plush toys, and scattered storybooks. Right in the middle of the chaos sat Lucien Vaughn, former ruthless billionaire heir and current independent logistics CEO, sprawled out on the rug.Aurora, now a bright and energetic seven-year-old, was carefu
Lucien took a slow, hesitant step towards Cynthia and Aurora. His eyes were hollow. He was broken, his knees wobbled with every step he took. Only they could provide him with the kind of calm he was looking for. But as he reached them, Cynthia took a small step back. His heart hammered against his ribs louder than it ever had. "Cynthia," he breathed out in a crackly voice. "Don't," Cynthia whispered, holding Aurora's hand tightly. "Lucien, please. Just stay there."She took another step back when all she wanted was to throw herself in his arms. Lucien froze in his tracks, his hands half-raised in the air, completely shattered by her reaction. "Wh- why?" He asked in a broken voice. Cynthia took a deep breath. "Adrian is still out there, Lucien." She said, her voice shivering, "What if he came for us again? I can't fight him" Aurora held her hand tightly. She can't see her mother crying. She has always seen her mother smiling and fighting everyone who tries to hurt her. "No! C
Third-Person POV Everyone's attention was on Lucien, waiting for Lucien to take his vow while his attention was fixed on Cynthia and Aurora. He just wanted to run down the aisle and take both of them in a big hug. Alister gestured for the priest to start with the ritual. The priest once again asked Lucien to take his vow. He parted his lips but then suddenly the door burst open and paparazzi came rushing in. The surroundings were filled with the frantic click of cameras and flashes. Alister, along with Sophia's father, stood up. Everyone became surprised because it was supposed to be a private wedding ceremony. "What is the meaning of this?!" Alister roared, "How could you enter here without permission? Stop taking pictures and get the hell out of here!" The guards moved to intercept the media, but before they could lay a hand, a heavy, authoritative voice echoed in the surroundings, which made everyone silent. "Leave them."Everyone froze and whispers died down. Alister’s hea
Lucien's POV My mother was safe, Cynthia had been discharged from the hospital but my heart was still out there, in the hands of a psychopath. My father watched me with calculating eyes. He was ready to hand over Aurora but he had already made his demand clear. He was waiting for me just to accept it. I inhaled a deep breath and announced."I’ll do it," I said, the words tasted like ash in my mouth. "I will marry Sophia. I will give you the alliance you want."Alister’s eyes lit up with satisfaction. His hand lifts to hold my shoulder but I step back. I don't want him to touch me anymore. I have already done enough to pay the debt of being a father. He hesitated for a second before masking it with a fake smile "I am proud of you son" he smiled wide "I knew you would do anything to protect this legacy.""I am not done yet!" I said sternly, my voice was void of any emotion. "I will marry Sophia, but only on one condition" "What?" He asked almost instantly. His eyebrows drew tog
Lucien's POV "Marry her" It was easy... So easy for Cynthia to say that but it was like a death sentence to me. It felt like she had a right out of my very soul. The last time she said the same thing in the changing room I knew she was playing around. But this time it was real and it stabbed my heart, and any dagger could ever. The stress and anxiety for Aurora were messing with her vitals so the doctor gave her injections. When she drifted into a deep peaceful sleep, I came out. It wasn't like I was ok with my daughter being kidnapped. My men were already searching for her but this time Adrian isn't alone. Alister is giving him full support, especially after knowing I have liberated my mother. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I walked back and forth and when the anxiety became too much, I just checked on Cynthia one last time before driving away. All these years, I have suffered equally. Cynthia at least had a reason to live her life, but I was completely alone. There were time
Third Person POV Cynthia was lying on the hospital bed with her whole body covered with sweat. She was tossing her head from left to right while the rest of her body felt tied to the bed with invisible ropes. Her breaths came out in short broken gasps as she tried to hold on to something. She wanted to run, scream, and save her child but she couldn't. ~~Cynthia's POV "Aurora!" I shouted as I ran behind Adrian in my wedding gown to get my daughter back. My baby was reaching for me with her tiny face drenched in tears. "Mumma! Save me!""Adrian, stop!" I screamed, but no sound came out. The more I tried to run behind him, the farther I was getting from him. And then suddenly he stopped. My breath caught in my throat as he turned around. "You chose him, Cynthia. Now watch what happens to the things you love.""NO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. And then suddenly Aurora disappeared from her arms. "Aurora!" I sat up screaming, and this time, it was for real. My vision was

My heart was beating fast with every floor that the elevator took me. The executive floor was on the top of the building, and by the time I read there, my palms were damp, and my pulse was pounding in my ears. The air on this floor felt colder and quieter than ever before. I stopped dead in my t
Cynthia's POVI didn't realise how long I cried in Adrian's arms. I was just letting out my emotions and he was handling me with silence until a black car drove towards us at full speed. I was the first one to see it. "Adrian!" I shouted his name. He became attentive just in time and saved both
My breath hitched when Lucien suddenly started walking towards us. His eyes were fixed on Adrian's hand that was holding my chin. I licked my dry lips and forced my gaze back to Adrian. “Cynthia?” Adrian frowned. “Why did you suddenly turn pale?” I forced a smile and took his hand in mine. "I.
