“Hello?” My voice cracked, low, bitterness clawing its way into every syllable.

Silence.

There was a pause so long it felt like a knife twisting inside me. My heart raced, pounding against my ribs. And in a second my breaths turned uneven, shaky, loud enough that the phone carried every sobbing sound I tried to swallow.

And then, she finally speaks.

“He really is seeing a woman,” her words came low, heavy with sorrow on the other end.

The world fell apart around me. My chest caved in as if the ground had given way. A cry tore out of me very raw and broken, filling the quiet around me. I couldn't hold it as tears spilled fast, hot, and merciless, streaming down my face like they had been waiting all this time. My throat tightened until I could barely breathe. Each gasp came ragged, desperate, choking with sobs, as if the very air had betrayed me too.

I bite my lip hard, trying to muffle the sobs clawing out of me, but the taste of blood only deepens the ache. My hands shook violently,

My steps were heavy, dragging anger with every pace I took looking for him. I could feel the weight of my own heartbeat in my chest, sharp, painful, yet pushing me forward. My fist clenched tighter behind me, the scalpel hidden in my palm. Cold steel. Cold betrayal.“Emma, you are now in big trouble now,” Noah whispered to my ear, his voice almost like speaking to himself. He held my hands and I find myself falling more to the moment. There was that roaring of joy in my heart. My gaze light up, trying to comprehend what he meant. “Why is that?”“Because you’ll be the only woman that I’ll ever love, forever.”Those were the words he had sworn to me when we married. He had promised never to leave my side, to protect me as if I were both wife and child. Where was that love now? Where was that protection when his arms held someone else?I tightened my grip on the scalpel behind my back, staring at the traitors, the judases and the backstabers, those faces I had fed with trust. They called

I pressed the key fob twice, the trunk unlocked and instantly, my eyes landed on the emptiness of it. All I could find was a microfiber towel, wash soap, and a stiff-bristle brush. I scattered it all in search of any clue, but there were none, causing me to throw down the soap I was holding. I exhale hard closing the trunk. I headed straight to the front passenger seat and before I could enter, my gaze landed on Mrs Walton who was smiling playfully at their seat.I pressed the glove compartment and all I could find was a power bank. I emerged to the driver's side and to the back seat and I didn’t find anything suspicious. I closed the car door as my mind started whispering the word “trunk.”Opening the trunk again, I put my mind at rest, searching slowly now. I couldn’t find anything. There was none and I'm going crazy already. My head is burning so tight. I exhale hard burying my face in my hands with a quick load of tears streaming down as I bite on my lips.I reach for the top of t

After collecting the cake, I headed straight to pick up William from school. I made sure to clean my face and be ready for my son to avoid questions. William is so caring that he shows that he has understood a lot even at a young age. Even though I tried to betray myself and be present for him my mind continued to create bombers that I was about to hear when I reached Bella’s place.I set my foot on the gas pedal, trying to speed up to cover the time space. In a moment, I could feel William's gaze turning to me, staring at my unusual behavior. I pressed the pedal once again and released it, causing more speed to be applied to it. “Mom, mom,” his voice called low, the worries deepened into it. “You're driving too fast,” he exclaimed, searching for an answer in my face.I was desperate to meet up because I wanted to make sure I reached Bella's place as soon as possible.Soon after about 5 minutes, I drove to a stop when I reached Bella's place.“I thought we were going to see Dad,” Wi

Ever since everyone had left home, and also today was my off day, my mind had known no rest. Restlessness gnawed at me until without realizing, I found myself bolted to my laptop. My fingers are trembling as I type into the search bar. The word Gemini slipped in first, then before I could finish, the remaining name appeared, the site filling itself in because I had visited it too often. When it loaded, I leaned forward and typed into the search space: “clue to know a cheating husband.”I read carefully trying to devour every word, and the more I read, the more my heart shriveled. Some of the signs mirrored exactly what had been happening. It was like staring at a reflection of my biggest fear. My breath shook. My hands felt this sudden coldness. Still, I typed again: “what to be suspicious of when having a cheating husband.”Tears blurred my vision, falling hot and merciless against my cheeks. Each one stung like betrayal itself. I couldn’t believe I was living this nightmare, the ve

Within moments, I introduced Noah properly, explaining his work, but then something caught my attention—Mrs. Walton’s gaze lingered on him longer, as if heaven itself existed in his face. There was hunger in her smile, an intent in her eyes that made my stomach knot.We left the men for their business discussion and entered the hall. A waitress approached, balancing a tray of wine glasses. Mrs Walton reached for the tray and handed me one.“You even have a handsome husband who's younger than you. My gosh, you really have everything.”Her words landed like a slap across my face, but I was equally skilled at returning the blow.“He's the same age as me,” I said, eyes drifting to the wine. It's so eerily similar to the one Noah had brought home days ago.“Oh really? He is so handsome, very younger than his age,” she murmured.“Yes,” I replied softly, keeping my gaze locked on the table, trying to hide the storm raging beneath my skin.“Oh right. Dr. Emma, she's Isabella, my daughter.”I
