With that, I turned to leave, leaving Lucas to process the bombshell I had just dropped.

It wasn't an easy decision, but I knew I had to stand my ground and fight for what I deserved.

He had always been a shrewd businessman, and I had known that going into the marriage. Still, I never thought that he would use me as a pawn in his game of power and influence.

"Did you marry me for my money?" Lucas boomed in irritation, his voice echoing through the walls of the office.

I paused for a moment, taking a deep breath before responding.

"You married me for the properties, right? To become the CEO of this company because your grandfather wouldn't approve of any other lady?"

I asked him in return, my voice firm and steady.

Lucas's face turned red with anger, and I could see the fire in his eyes.

"I married you for love, but you broke my trust by sleeping with my sister. What do you think?" I spat out, his words laced with venom.

"Do you think I will sit and watch you without a
