Chapter 04

Carver hasn't changed since he was 5 years old.

Already has a sharp nose and handsome with clean white skin.

"Then why did you leave me when I was little? Don't you love me and my mother?"  Carver was getting angry.

"I wish you knew, Carver. I left you at home with your mother because I went abroad. I was looking for a job, and every month I send money to your mother back home," Jackson replied.

Carver felt as if he had been tempered by a huge lump of iron hitting his body.  Sensing the exact opposite of what her mother had said, her head suddenly became dizzy as she accepted the opposite fact to what she already knew.

His mother always told him that his father died from too much drinking.  And her mother chose to marry another fine man, then had a daughter who by then became Carver's sister.

But what he lived before marrying Violeth, he lived like a vagabond for years with his sister after his mother died in an accident with her new husband.  At that time they only lived in a rented house, because they were unable to pay, Carver and his sister were evicted by the landlord.

"Your mother used to hate me. So when I decided to work abroad, your mother would choose to remarry," Jackson said.

"Your mother betrayed me. Your mother remarried even though my status was still her husband," he added.

Carver doesn't seem to believe the truth.

"Now, mother is dead, father."

"Hmm, dad already knows everything from my friend."

"Carver, you should know. I built this company for your future. I've been looking for you all over this country for so long, I can finally find you again."

"But my sister is now dead."  Carver looked glum.

"Carver, don't tell me your mother has a child with another man who is her new husband?"

Carver just nodded his head with a sad face when he remembered his only sibling who died a few months ago, when he was only 7 years old.

"Never mind! He's not even my bloodline," Jackson said.

"But daddy. I love her like my own little sister."

"Come on, Carver. The important thing is that you've met daddy. From now on, you have to live with me in this luxurious house."

"Living with dad?"  Carver was taken aback.

Jackson's request to live together at Carver's mansion cannot be carried out.  Because of his status as the husband of Violeth Fletcher.

Jackson looked at Carver, he knew there was a problem hanging over Carver's face even though he didn't know what problem was on Carver's mind.

"Not only about luxury homes, but I have also prepared a woman for you. She is very beautiful and accomplished," added Jackson.

"A woman?"  Carver frowned.

"I will set you up with a woman named Clara. I'm sure Clara will love you," Jackson said.

Before Carver could answer, he heard someone knocking on the bedroom door.

"Please come in!"  Jackson ordered someone behind the door to enter.  He himself thought it was Richard.  As he knew, Richard left the room.

The door was opened by a girl's hand.

Carver stared at the hand that was slowly opening the door.  Slowly a beautiful woman stepped into the room.

"Oh, this is Clara? Gosh, I didn't expect you to come here," Jackson said with a friendly smile.

"Good morning uncle. I brought food from the restaurant for breakfast uncle this morning."  Clara brought some food that she bought from the restaurant.

Carver immediately looked the other way, lest he be impressed by the beautiful woman and white skin that looked familiar to his father.

Remembering that he is already married to Violeth, Carver doesn't want to look at other women carelessly.

Jackson motioned for Clara to sit down.  Clara happened to be sitting right beside Carver.

"Uncle, who is this young man?"  Clara asked when she saw Carver in Jackson's study.

"He's Carver," Jackson said.

Clara was surprised to see Jackson "What do you mean your son Carver?"

"That's right, Clara. Carver is the man I'm going to set you up with. Are you starting to fall for my son?"  Jackson asked, hoping Clara would happily agree.

Clara smiled shyly.  She looked away because her heart was beating too fast as she locked eyes with Carver, a charmingly handsome man.

And damn, even though Carver tried not to look at Clara's pretty face.  He instead looked closely and began to be fascinated by the beauty of the woman.  Carver can't accept this match, after all Carver already has a wife.

It was then that Clara received a call.  After receiving the call, Clara said goodbye to leave because there was an urgent matter.

"Uncle Jackson, I have to go first. Maybe we can meet again another time," Clara said.

"The next meeting, I will meet your father. Soon, you will also become my son-in-law after getting engaged to Carver."  Jackson smiled expectantly.

Not long after, Clara left.

Jackson then looked at his son, and said.  "Carver, do you like Clara's appearance? Father wants you to live a luxurious life from now on and get the best partner, which is to get engaged to Clara."

"About the engagement, I can't, father!"

Jackson was shocked, but he would not give up for the good of his son's future.  "Are you still unsure about Clara? If in doubt, I will wait until you are absolutely sure about getting engaged to Clara."

Carver took a harsh breath, reluctant to tell the truth about what was going on.  It is impossible for Carver to be engaged to Clara, while Carver himself already has a wife to serve according to the agreement.

"Carver, after you got engaged to and married Clara."  Jackson had not finished explaining, his words were cut off.

"I don't want to be ordered around. If you insist, you won't be able to see me again," Carver said.
