Chapter 10: Chapter Ten: You're Just a Mascot

Returning to the Han family villa, from afar, one could only see a cluster of reporters huddled together like a dark cloud.

Among these reporters stood a woman with a protruding belly, disheveled hair, and an utterly miserable appearance.

Just as Rebecca Augustine was about to get out of the car, Leonard Babbitt's phone suddenly rang—

"Brother Yecheng, Old Lady brought some people to the villa just now. I... I've already moved into a hotel."

Stacey Grantham bit her red lips, her tears flowing like rain: "Can you come to me? I want you to be with me."

Sitting beside Leonard Babbitt, Rebecca Augustine could vaguely hear their conversation, and she raised an eyebrow.

She hadn't expected the old lady to act so quickly, but...

Not having to see that white lotus anymore was, for her, a good thing.

Leonard Babbitt's voice was cool and composed: "Okay."

He hung up the call and looked at Camille Chaplin's figure at the entrance of the villa, his gaze meaningful: "Mrs. Gu, it's all on your performance now."

Rebecca Augustine snorted, stepped out of the car in her high heels, and walked towards the villa entrance.

Meanwhile, Leonard Babbitt ordered the driver to turn the car around and head toward the hotel where Stacey Grantham was staying.

Seeing Rebecca Augustine, the reporters swarmed around her, surrounding her—

"Mrs. Gu, we heard that Miss Camille Chaplin is pregnant with Mr. Babbitt's child. Is it true?"

"Are you so furious about this that you ordered a ban on Miss Camille Chaplin?"

Camille Chaplin had not put on any makeup today; perhaps due to lack of rest, her face looked pale and sorrowful. She stepped forward and knelt at Rebecca Augustine's feet, pleading bitterly: "Miss Han, I know it's my fault, but please have mercy and spare me."

"The child in my womb can't grow up without a father..."

Her tears flowed freely: "I've worked hard in the entertainment industry for ten years to achieve what I have today, and now everything is ruined."

The reporters around them, fearing they might miss such a scene, raised their cameras and recording equipment, snapping away.

Seeing this, Rebecca Augustine sneered inwardly. The so-called entertainment industry really had no bottom line.

She looked down at Camille Chaplin with a condescending glance, curling her lips: "Miss Chen, there's something you said incorrectly."

She maintained her dignity and composure: "I am Leonard Babbitt's wife, so you should address me as Mrs. Gu."

Camille Chaplin's face turned even paler, and she lowered her head, saying softly: "Mrs. Gu."

Rebecca Augustine continued: "I don't understand on what grounds or identity Miss Chen stands before me. Has the entertainment industry become so lenient? To openly interfere in someone else's marriage and bring the media to trouble the original spouse? Moreover..."

She bent down, grabbing Camille Chaplin's chin, and sneered: "Is the child in your womb really my husband's?"

Meeting Rebecca Augustine's cold, mocking eyes, Camille Chaplin felt a moment of guilt but stubbornly insisted: "The child in my womb is Mr. Babbitt's!"

"Mrs. Gu, everyone outside knows that you are just a figurehead, with no real feelings for Mr. Babbitt."

Camille Chaplin tugged at her sleeve, starting to kowtow: "Please, do a good deed and let me and the child be together."

"Sorry."

Rebecca Augustine bent down and pried open her fingers: "I won't do any good deeds."

She sidestepped Camille Chaplin and prepared to walk towards the villa, but at that moment, a scream came from behind—

"Aah, my stomach..."

Camille Chaplin fell to the ground, blood gushing down her legs. Her face was deathly pale, and she lifted her tear-filled eyes: "Mrs. Gu, I know you hate me, but the child is innocent... How could you harm my child? Please, save my child..."
